My friend is being blackmailed by his history, is ...

My friend is recently being blackmailed by somebody based on his chat history, and desperately wants a way to stop this, so I came here to ask if there is a way to remove all the chat history for both people?

Dennis,
This is probably caused by hardware and may require taking the machine in for repair. If you are covered by AppleCare then contact them and they will attempt to troubleshoot over the phone and if that isn't successful they will give you information on how to get the machine fixed.
Because you don't say what iMac you own or even the version of OS X it's running it's difficult to help you. At a minimum I'd recommend running Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode, this will take 30-60 minutes for each pass. If no errors appear after the first pass then run the test 2-3 more times to be sure.
NOTE: Please complete your profile. You can do so by clicking Your Stuff (look in the upper right of this page) click it and then select Profile and input the pertinent information. This will help those trying to help you in the future.
