Hi Friend,
Which kind of account your friend are using?
If he is using a business account (for example [email protected]) he should set POP account info properly, filling all the blank fields (name, email address, description, password, Host Name, user's name, SMTP). Just one field blanked causes error in sending/receiving.
If he is using a default account (iCloud, Yahoo!, Hotmail...), fill all the blank fields (Name, Email account, Password, Description) and sign in.
If not works, delete the account and sign in again

    This is most likely an issue with Apple's iOS Mail program's.
    I think you are opening your modified PDF in Apple built-in PDF Preview. Apple's code does not properly draw the comments, but if you look at the PDF in virtually any other PDF application that isn't just using Apple''s code, or on any desktop computer, you will see the comments you've added.

    Make sure that your username and password are set in the outgoing mail servers setting.
    Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Reminders not working on iPhone and iPad, but are on MacBook Pro

    My reminders on my MacBook Pro are showing up 24 hours in advance of the set time for that reminder, but they are not showing up on my iPad 3 and iPhone 5. I have to power the iPad and iPhone off for the reminders to show up in the notification center. Does anyone know what's going on or how to fix this?

    Thanks for taking the time to reply, but this is not the problem we are facing. 
    You can open the email without a problem, but the content inside the alert is blank - the list, the columns that have been modified, nothing is in the email.
    In addition, our client does not run Exchange in their environment.

    Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID under which they were purchased. If your friend wants to be able to manage apps on their device using their own Apple ID, they will need to delete all the apps purchased using your Apple ID and buy their own.
    Hopefully, you just updated your own Apple ID with the new email and didn't make the mistake of creating a new Apple ID. If you created a new ID, stop using it now, don't buy anything using it and go back and update the ID under which you purchased your apps.

    I have an iphone, iMac, iPad and other laptops. I received an email with a .JPG attachment.  I went to view the attachmet on my iPad and iPhone, where the .jpg attachements show with the dotted line around them. When I tap they "download" and reach the full file size in the dowload countdown, then do nothing, do not display the image and still have the dotted line around them. This happens on both my iPhone or iPad.  If I view the same email on iMac or windows laptop, I can see the image fine, but not on iPhone or iPad.  What is preventing the image from displaying on any of my mobile devices, but works fine everywhere else?

    I had email an attachment to my gmail account.  It was received by both my iPad 4 and my iPhone 4S, however I was unable to display the attachment on the iPad, even though it displayed perfectly on my iPhone.  I recently upgraded to iOS7--could this have anything to do with it?

    The system incorrectly interpreted the file type and assigned it to Numbers. What extension does that file has? (e.g. .txt, .rtf, .odt etc) If you want to avoid future problems of this type, select that file without opening it, right-click (or command-I), select info and, under Always open with, select the correct application. If a text file, probably TextEdit is the right one.
    In attached file, it is shown how all PDF files are set to open with Preview.
    What you describe is no tragic behavior, may happen from time to time.

    My hard drive on my Mac was just replaced, and when I plugged in my iPad, it said that it couldn't connect, as my iTunes is not up to date. My iTunes on the Mac is up to date. Did the update a couple of times, and still getting the same error. I went and looked online and it tells me what to do, but nothing has worked. Unsure where to go or what to do. Please help.

    I did it directly, and clicked on the software update button, and there was nothing new to be updated.  It should be brand new as my hard drive was just replaced, but I did notice that the OS X wasn't on here, like on the old one. could that be the issue? and how would I find out how old the operating system is? The Mac as a whole is only a year old.
    I went into my app store and looked at purchases, and am going to re-download OS X Lion on here, and maybe that will help??? still unsure and don't know.

    When I used iPad or iPhone 3GS mail to check email, usually the tiff attachment cannot be viewed, however, iPhone 4 has no problem with the same email and attachment.

    Is it the reason of that iPhone 4 has more memory? Will this problem be fixed in iOS 4.2!

    I am also unable to view tiff attachments. The Ipad2 mail just shows an image of the first page of the file and the only option I get when I press on the image is for "copy" or "save image". Only the first page gets saved as an image.
    I bought Save2PDF app but still unable to see the multi page file in mail or elsewhere.
    Appreciate any help in adjusting any settings either in mail or Save2PDF app that would enable me to view multiple page tiff file.

  • Mail POP outgoing emails not received (seemingly random) - Experts needed!

    I'm having a very strange, very frustrating problem that I believe comes down to the Mail application on my Mac. I am running Snow Leopard (10.6.4) and using three email accounts I access through Mail via POP, and have done so without a hitch for years.
    Recently, friends and colleagues alerted me to the fact they have not been receiving emails I've sent. Emails that appear in my Sent box. It seems that some people have received ALL emails I've sent them, some people have received SOME but not ALL emails I've sent, and other people have received NONE of the emails I've sent them in the past couple of months (this I only discovered a few days ago, much to my dismay).
    I can see no pattern to which emails have and have not been received. It appears to be occurring across the three separate accounts, and with different outgoing mail servers. This is what leads me to believe the problem lies with Mail, and not the servers themselves, though I may be wrong. I cannot tell which emails have not been received, and can no longer trust that emails I send will end up at their intended destination.
    I cannot find any information on this kind of problem. Please help me. I'm desperate, and at a complete loss!!
    P.S. I just sent some test emails to a friend using different combinations of my three email accounts and outgoing servers. Two of the emails were not received, each sent via different outgoing servers (and different accounts). However, all the emails appear in my Sent box.

    Hello, and welcome to the Discussions.
    This sort of random experience seems likely to be caused by the use of Rich Text Format. To test this, take a previously sent email that a friend did not receive, click on Message/Send Again, then click on Format/Make Plain Text, and then resend it. If they now receive, it is likely the RTF when it converts to a form of HTML is triggering a SPAM filter somewhere in the path to this recipient, and blocking the message.
