my front camera stopped working for some reason. it worked then now it's not. is it under warranty to get a new phone swapped out??

Yes. Assuming you are still within your 1 year warranty period, or 2 if you bought Applecare.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"
If you have an iPad 4 it is still under warranty. If the front camera is still not working call Apple Support for replacement.

You see a closed lens or black screen
If you see a closed lens or black screen when you open the Camera app, try these steps:
Make sure that there’s nothing blocking the camera lens. If you’re using a case, try removing it.
Force the app to close, then open the Camera app again.
Restart your device, then open the Camera app again.
If your device has a front and rear camera, try both cameras by tapping the camera swap icon . If you see the closed lens or black screen on only one camera, take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider for more help.

Hi everyone. I'm really terrified. After 2 long months waiting for my uncle to come from US with my new iPad2 I got it last week. The problem is that today I used the camera but the front one suddenly stopped working and now it's all dark and like freezes when your try no use the PhotoBooth. You can try rebooting. Hold down both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow. It takes a minute or two for the iPad to restart.
I'm sure a defect such as this would be covered by warrantee. Are there any Apple company stores in your area? They would be the best to advise you if they can replace it, or if it has to be returned to the US.

My iPod touch's(4th gen, iOs 5) front camera stopped working. Why? And how can I fix it?

I can't use it on the regular camera, CamWow, instagram, twitter or anything else that involves a camera. And it's only the front camera. I can use the back camera on instagram. Anyway, all of my apps/cameras are all on the front camera and the little button to change it from front to back isn't on it. So I can't use my back camera either. It just randomly stopped working on friday and I don't know why. I've tried turning my iPod on and off but that doesn't work. So please help?

My curve just stopped working and is under warranty, how do I go about replacing it?

Was charging in the wall and checking texts and the screen went white and then off. Phone won't charge or turn on. It's never been wet or abused and worked perfectly up to that point. I was able to find the Warranty PDF on the website, but it doesn't seem to include actual steps to take to move forward and get a new phone. Can somebody please help?

if you paid via credit card , atleast in my country, you can still claim the warranty because your credit details along with the phones imei number should be on their system. This warrantt slip **bleep** was fine in the 80s.

Ive had my ipod for at least 3-4 months now, and just today my front camera stopped working! I go to my camera app, (the built in one) and it defaults to the back camera. when I tap the little switch icon, I get a blurry, and sometimes black, screen. as if the shutter isnt opening. I have updated the ios software and shut down the ipod multiple times. I really dont want to reset the ipod because it will delete my apps.

This advice will sound like a joke or prank, but believe me it worked on my iPhone 5 and my daughter's. The lens mechanism got stock on each of our iPhones. We found a post on these message boards that said to hold the iPhone about 6 inches above a table or counter top and drop it so that it lands flat on it's back. Now try the camera ...Fixed! It has been more than six months now and neither of our iPhones have ever experienced the problem again.

Camera not working with Facetime under iOS7

My front camera doesn't work since upgrading my iPhone 4S to iOS7. The image is not clear (I just see my shadow)
It was working perfectly under iOS 6.1.4
The front camera is working with other apps like Skype and I can take picture with Camera' app.
I have an iPad and there Facetime works correctly.
Does anyone has the same problem ?
Soft or hardware problem ?

I have the same issue, and when i try to switch back to my other camera, it freezes the screen and I have to force shut down the camera app.
It all worked fine before the install of ios 7
I have tried reinstalling the software by restoring the phone, but its just the same.

I have the same problem and I've tried everything!!! There are sooo many people with this same problem but Apple can't help anyone that isn't under warranty anymore!!! This is a big problem for many people that Apple should recognize and offer replacements or solutions for. It's only after the update that my camera stopped working (and this is also true for many other ipod touch users). This issue is obviously caused by Apple either making faulty hardware, software, or both. I really hope that they will resolve this issue soon because it is not fair for those who are no longer covered by the warranty.
