even if the battery says it is (half) full, usually it helps to replace the battery.
try just taking it out and then in again, might help temporarely.

The disk drive in my iMac 8,1 has stopped working, so I now use an LG 8x Slim Portable that works. However, every time I use the LG drive, I lose contact with my Time Machine back-up drive that has to be deleted and reinstalled. Help!
It's not Logic that can't find them, it's your Komplete apps, though if you did exaclty as you say I can see no reason why they can't.
Do you know where the apps installed them in the first place? I chose a non-standard locarion for mine, but I'm sure it installs sounds to your documents folder/native instruments/name of app.
Go into the prefs of each app and choose the library location button on the library tab and point it to the relevant folder in documents/native instruments and see if that works

My iMac will boot, but loses contact with Bluetooth after logging in, and then there is no way to interact with the system. I can only shut it down. Any help in resolving this issue will really be appreciated.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
Syncing devices contacts with i cloud and getting different results
i have 2 iphones and an imac and i am syncing contacts with i cloud and i am getting 3 different counts of contacts on each device. any thoughts on what goes wrong?
At this point I recommend you try deleting, then re-creating the iCloud account on your phone. Sometimes this will restart difficult syncing problems. You won't lose any data by doing this.
Start by saving any photo stream photos on your phone that you want to keep to the camera roll (unless they are already there). To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.
Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted, then after a minute or so, sign back in. This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your phone, but not from iCloud. Your data will reappear on your phone when you sign back in, although there may be a slight delay as it redownloads. Then check your contact groups and see if this fixed things. If so, repeat this process on your iPad. -
Podcasts from Current Tv, since three weeks prior to the Nov 2012 election have had a url problem and cannot be played on my mac mini 2011 with 10.8.2 and the latest Itunes? anyone know why> ? I am waiting for the senior advisor to get back to me on this issue. I am in THailand now where the problem is happening and as I said the ISP says they do not block any podcasts.I also do not want it on my iphone 5, so I have to wait and see why the mac mini is not getting it.I seem to have fixed it by putting <div class="clearfloat"></div> after the navigation bar?

My MacBook Pro is a few years old and I recently got an iPhone 4S. I want to know how I sync my calendar and contacts with the calendar and contacts on my phone? My laptop is Mac OS X, 10.6.8 and still has MobileMe on it. I tried to download iCloud but then I'd have to download and pay for a new OS.

Careless? Possible, but unlikely. Most likely the phone was stolen from the first owner. It would be a VERY careless iPhone owner who did not erase their personal information from a phone before selling it, and to do that it is necessary to disable Activation Lock. In most places in the world knowingly using stolen property is a crime, so the fact that the phone doesn't work may be the least of one's risks. -

You can't do anything. You have encountered the activation lock. Unless you have some sort of contact with the previous owner you have bought a very expensive paper weight.
