My garage band dose't respond when i open it

It started yesterday when i open it nothing happens and when I hold done the icon it says app not responding. I just want to know is there a fix and has any one else had this problem. I have a 13' macboo pro(or aluminum)

Help! Size of garage band song too big when exported

I'm trying to share songs I've created with Garage band. For some reason they are way too large (40 - 60MB) to attach to an email and send. They shouldn't be that big, they are just average sized songs. Thats the size that they each came out when I exported it from garage band to itunes. A friend recomended a program Audacity to reduce their size (or bitrate?) but I haven't a clue as to how to use it to make my songs normal size. Is there some simple way to reduce their size so that I can send them to people?
Also, the second part of my question is I would like the songs to be in a format readable not only by Mac users but by PC users as well.
As you can see I know very little about this stuff but I really need to send these songs out, any bit of help would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou, Marc.

We get posts like this one here fairly often, and I can't understand it.
Go look at your CD collection. Every 3-minute song on any CD takes up 30 MB of file space. Every 5-minute song takes up 50MB of file space.
It's the same with GarageBand, because GarageBand records and mixes music to 16-bit, 44.1KHz two-channel stereo, just like on a CD. One minute of stereo music takes up approximately 10 MB.
Complaining that a five minute song in GarageBand takes up 50 MB is like complaining that a foot has twelve inches in it, or that a kilogram contains 1000 grams.
Use iTunes to burn your GarageBand songs to a CD in the regular audio CD format. Then mail the CD to your friends. They'll be able to listen to it on a Windows PC or a regular CD player at home or in their car.
You can use iTunes to convert your recording into an MP3 that is as small as you want it, but the smaller the end result, the poorer the audio quality.

Stereo in Garage Band and then Mono when mixed to iTunes or Disk

I have 3 songs that are in stereo in Garage Band and then when I mix them down to iTunes or to Disk, they come out in Mono.
What's up with this?

so you're sure that sound is coming from two speakers in gb, but anything exported doesn't? are you listening to the sound exactly the same way in both? Same speakers, or headphones, or whatever?

Garage Band 3, Chapters lost when sharing

Using Garage Band 3, when I send songs to i-tunes the chapters are getting lost. This had been working in the past, but suddenly it doesn't. Any ideas?

Do you get a crash report?
Check it to see if any of the lines show any of your third party plugins (if you have any, that is).
Sometimes these crash, but it looks like GB crashing.
Then, you can remove the suspect ones from the corresponding VST or Component folders in Library/Audio/Plugins. Then quit and relaunch GB.
I've done lots of podcast exports and haven't seen this. it's likely something particular to your config. Check any other third-party things you might have installed.

After effects cs 5.5 not responding when I open up a project file

I was recently working on an intro for a youtube channel and my project had been running smoothly the night before. But now all of a sudden I open it up today and it starts not responding when I try and open the file. It is running on a mac with 8 GB of memory and a 2.1 GHz intel i7 processor, I have no idea what's happening and I really need help. Thank you for your time.

I can understand that my info was vague, but I am as well a novice in after effects. I have a good bit of experience with it, but not a professional standard. I have 1 video file of average length, a photoshop file, and a word layer, no other effects really. My comp size is 1280 by 720, and I don't know what other info I could give. My other projects run fine, it seems to just be this one now that you mention it. Should I try starting a new project and just working off of that? I can understand that you need to know a lot more, but I was also just asking a general question because I felt that it might be common issue of a setting that I may have had to change, so I'm sorry my info was so vague, but that was my reasoning. I don't believe that saving and backups are my problem, but if you believe it's a means to the solution then by all means please justify that. Thank your for your time and help.

ITunes doesn't respond when I opened it

Everytime I open iTunes, it doesn't respond. I tried end the APSDaemon.exe*32 preocess, it doesn't work. when i opened itunes, APSDaemon.exe*32 poped up again. Also I followed the instruction http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 , doesn't work either.

Everytime i open Mozilla Firefox Version 15.0.1 it always seem to crash or not respond when it opens.

It always stops working everytime when i open it and i cant do nothing about it. I Tried uninstalling and installing it but it keeps repeating itself and keeps lagging.

Started having a similar problem on a freshly-imaged corporate PC where we do not have local admin and have to install Firefox inside the local Windows profile directory. Some people have the problem, others don't. Only with certain sites, but seems to be most sites. When it hangs on a site, it does so immediately, and you can't even X out of the window - you have to kill the task. Same in safe mode.
I tried uninstalling, rebooting, deleting %userprofile%\appdata\local\Mozilla and \Mozilla Firefox, reinstalling, and no go, no matter whether I choose to import from IE or not.
Also, have the same issue with Firefox at home on a separate Windows box starting at about the same time as I and a couple users here noticed this. Would seem like an update.

My iTunes keeps freezing/not responding when I open the program?

I am trying to restore my mum's iPod nano after it just died and won't work- but everytime I open iTunes it crashes! It works for about 1 minute of use before it stops responding and I have to end task, but then when I try and re-open the program it doesn't open unless I plug my own iPod in!
Someone help me try and fix this- mum wants her iPod back and I want my iTunes working again!
My computer operating system is Windows 7
iTunes is the latest update (I think). Any solutions?

I found a solution to my problem.

> right click on the command prompt icon and choose "run as administrator".
Once it opens, type in the following command...
netsh winsock reset
hit enter
You should get a message that the winsock reset successful and you will need to reboot your computer.
Reboot and when I reloaded itunes the store loaded fine.

HT1338 My "Notes" application on my Mac doesn't respond when I open it.

A day ago, I was looking up something on spotlight and saw a peculiar entry from notes I thought I deleted. I clicked on it and a small box with the note in it appeared. It stopped resonding when I tried to edit the text or close it or anything. Now everytime I open notes, that same little note box(not the full sized one) comes up and doesn't respond. Every single time I open notes. I am forced to "force quit" every time. I have tried restarting, shutting down, nothing sems to work. Please help. This is getting very frustrating very quickly.

I wrote this "User Tip" to deal with reparing Notes accounts, not notes themselves per se.
But if you either keep all the notes you want in iCloud, or have no notes worth saving and only want to repair the application, this tip may help.
I do not recommend using this tip if you have notes in the Notes app that are not in iCloud but that you need to keep.

Firefox is "not responding" when I open it from my desktop.

PLEASE HELP.... When I click on Mozilla Firefox from my desktop to open it the Home Page/Yahoo comes up but will not go any further when I click on something or attempt to open another tab. At the top it states (Not Responding). I have to go into the Task Manager to close it down.

Mac is running SUPER Slow, applications not responding when i open them, Beachballs everywhere

Whenever i open an application (Take Google chrome for an example) it bounces like 20+ times, then on activity monitor it says "Application Not Responding". Whenever i type too fast on spotlight or finder, my whole desktop freezes, im suspecting this can be maybe HDD failure, i have repaired my MacintoshHD probably 3 times this past week. I have 150GB free out of a 250GB hdd, and i have 4 GB RAM. PLEASE HELP! Im currently enrolled in college and this is vital and needs to be fixed ASAP.

ITunes not responding when I open it

After not using iTunes for about a week, I opened it and was prompted to download the most recent version of iTunes. I did so, and followed the commands throughout the downloading process (or so I thought), but now when I click to open iTunes, it does not do anything. Even when I connect my iPod to my computer, it iTunes does not open or recognize it. What should I do? If I remove and reinstall iTunes, will I lose all the music already on there?

Im having the same problem. I always open up the Windows Task Manager. When I click on the shortcut, ITunes appears in the Processes Tab, but then disappears after a few seconds. This has been happening to me for about a year, and i used to be able to open it by following the instructions below:
1) Go to "start" and click "run"
2) Type in "msconfig" and click OK
3) Click on the "servives" tab
4) MAKE SURE TO CHECK "hide all microsoft services"
5) Click on "disable all"
6) Check "Ipod Service"
7) Click on the "Startup" tab
8) Press "Disable All"
9) Check "Itunes Helper" and "qttask"
10) Click OK and Restart
I hope this helps. In the past i have been able to use this, but i guess there's a different problem with my iTunes this time. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Microsoft word stops responding when i open a document

This has been happening on and off for ages, from half a year to a year. I have been trying to open a document for 4 hours now, it opens it and then freezes, i then have to force quit it and start over again. Some times i have left it for a while others i quit it after it stops responding. It is getting ridiculous now, i have also searched for ages on the internet, some problems are unrelated some seem related but the fixes don't work, I need help to get word to stop doing this.
I thought maybe it was because it keeps opening all my previous documents that I had open, i unchecked the box so it doesn't reopen windows and it still freezes but on this document instead. I do not have a clue what to do and I urgently need access to these documents, the documents aren't damaged, i was working on them before, and had this problem with many other documents that also weren't damaged. What should I do? I do not have a clue and it's been a truly annoying problem for a long time now.

Hello, I did as you asked, I hope this isn't too many lines i put. I don't understand any of it and so I don't know what is needed, but this doesn't have over 50 lines so i thought it may be okay. I can't see my name in my log so it seems okay from that point of view. Thanks for your help, this problem has been driving me nuts, i don't know if i've done anything or this is just because of gradual ware and tear as my macbook is the last one they produced. But i wouldn't think its software would have suffered much ware and tear to become that outdated already.

IWeb Stops Responding When I Open Media Browser

I haven't used my iWeb application in several months and now when I go in to update my web pages, every time I open the media browser I get the spinning beach ball and the application hangs. The only way to get it working again is to force quit and restart iWeb but it will happen again as soon as I open the media browser. Any idea what could be causing the hangs?

Looks like I was able to solve my own problem. Apparently there is a bug in iWeb where the media browser only likes certain kinds of movie files. In my Movies folder, I had a collection of .mov, .avi, .wmv and real movie files and apparently that was enough to cause issues with iWeb. When I removed all those movies and put them into a different folder, iWeb had no issues or lock-ups. Some day when I have time I'll try to figure out which one was causing the issue but I'm guessing it's one of the formats Quicktime understands, most likely WMV. I did try uninstalling Flip 4 Mac but that didn't make any difference. In any case, I'm back running for now. Hopefully Apple has addressed this issue in iWeb '08.
