how did you get Garageband originally? And what is your current MacOS X version?
Did it come preinstalled on your mac? If your mac came with iLife (GarageBand, iPhoto, ..) preinstalled and it came with installer disks, GarageBand will be included in the "Optional Installs" on the installer DVDs.
If GarageBand '11 was included on your computer and your computer shipped with Lion, you can redownload GarageBand from the Mac App Store.
If you bought the iLife package, use the iLife installer CD to reinstall.
If you purchased GarageBand from the Mac App Store, you can click on the Purchases Tab from within the store, and download it again from there.

Group messaging simply puts all replies in one conversation in Messages. It doesn't prevent the behavior you experienced.
My suggestion which would be much easier in my opinion, is rather than do a text, send out an email and use bcc: , which will keep the audience hidden from each recipient.
Otherwise, if you're determinted to do only texts, the only way is to send your message to one person at a time. You can of course copy/paste your msg each time which might be helpful.

Only way to get it back is to restore your phone from a backup, if those pics were included in that backup.
But most likely those pics are gone.
What you should've done was import http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 the pics to your computer and after you restored from your old backup, you could sync those new pics to your phone via itunes.

Are your contacts still on your computer? If yes, set one contact up on the phone and sync it, you'll get the option to merge data.
If there are no more contacts on the computer, see if your latest backup still has the info, if you did not sync after you lose the info, they are still part of the backup.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?

Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

It cannot be deleted, but it may be lost in a folder, on another screen or it might be restricted.
Swipe from screen to screen to look for it.
Check Settings>General>Restrictions and make sure that you didn't disable it.
