My gmail folder structure was corrupted and content apparently lost following a freeze of Thunderbird that required stop of process from Task Manager.

The freeze occurred when I attempted to drag a message into a subfolder of the structure that is now corrupted. Only one subfolder remains available. The label of the folder appears grayed and italicized.

Just an update... A rep contacted me and we did a screen share. They were convinced that I wasn't full of <insert proper word here>. They promised to get back to me in a few days, and now? A few months later? Nothing.
Still no files. Still no correction... Still no nothing from Adobe.
The person I spoke to was kind, saying he'd make sure I got CC for free for a while...
Still though, no follow up.
Adobe, are you going to correct this or just let your customer suffer at your mistakes?

  • Why does firefox freeze and then doesn't fully release from memory, but I have to End Process from Task Manager?

    Frequently, Firefox for Windows (Vista) freezes up. I click on a link or try to go to another web page and nothing happens. The icon in the tab is just spinning, with Connecting. but it never connects. Then when I close it - if it lets me. I click to open it again and a window pops up saying that Firefox is already running, to please close it before launching it again. I have to go to Task Manager and End task from the Processes tab. It is also a resource hog including the Plug-In Container.

    The pluging container opens up unnecessary copies as the cookies/history are cleared, this is a known issue, it might be what you are seeing, and it is hoped to be fixed in some future release of firerox.
    There are some hangs affecting some users, with symptoms being high cpu usage, occurring as bookmark changes or syncing is in progress, there is a work around for that.

  • IPhoto 11 Library was corrupted and photobook is lost

    Hi there, I have encountered various issues with my iphoto. I have attempted to resolve it and I believe I have created a bigger mess.
    Problems:
    1. many photos in "events" and "photobook" when clicked did not connect to photo for editing, it simply showed a large black screen with the warning symbol (I believe this was caused by my own mistake of moving around photos in the iphoto library when I went to "reveal in finder" . My lesson learned: do not move photos in iphoto library!)
    2. I attempted to remedy this problem by following the instructions I found on various posts here. I have downloaded the iPhoto manager, created a new library etc. However, after many unsuccessful attempts, I have simply restored my iPhoto to a backup from Jan. The problem now is that this is just prior to my installing iPhoto 11. So the photobook, I has spent hours on is now lost.
    3. I have attempted to go to a newer version of the backup from TM. But I think I am also encountering a full startup disk. (as I only now have 10.65GB available).
    Possible Solutions?
    I have a 2TB external hard drive and a 1TB drive for my TM. I am considering moving TM to the larger drive and then moving iPhoto to the 1TB drive. However, before I get myself into any more messes, I am seeking your advice.

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    But I think I am also encountering a full startup disk. (as I only now have 10.65GB available).
    This is a major issue. OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on. Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially. Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do. Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
    To move the iPhoto Library:
    Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

    If you mean you are asked when finishing, I've not had a problem, .
    In any case you should be able to open your Previous Windown through the History Menu, and then also from there all your previous windows (might be 5 total)

    I did not realize that downloading Firefox 4.0 to test it would mean that I would lose the ability to use Zotero.     I had about 100 Bookmark Folders and 500 to 600 Bookmark sub-folders inside the Bookmark Folders on Firefox 3.6.17. When I signed off my Windows XP system on Thursday the Firefox home Page was fine. When I logged on to the Firefox Homepage the next day the page changed and I was unable to change it back, the "add Apps" had no effect and I could not customize the page. My home page is google com ig dell using Mozilla Firefox as my Browser so I called Dell to get help. The Dell technician played with it for about 1 1/2 hours and then decided Firefox was corrupted and he would have to load a new copy. He uninstalled the old 3.6.17 and installed 4.0. I specifically told him I had lots of Bookmarks and could not lose them. He assured me it would be No Problem. When I checked after he finished, I had lost all my bookmarks. The Dell Technician could not retrieve the Bookmarks and had to go to a Dell Datasafe Backup that I did. He could only retrieve a small portion of my Bookmarks. It will take me weeks to build these Bookmarks again. I can't believe these are all gone from my hard drive. Is there anything I can do to retrieve them and how can I prevent this in the future.

    I am now back and enjoying FF 3.6.17 (my original) yet I am still
    without my book marks and am floundering trying to recoup.
    Any help appreciated. If unable to see my book marks in the near

  • I have recently upgraded to Maverick and when the Macbook rebooted I got a message saying the HHD Disck was corrupt and to return the unit to store, this unit is 6 moths old

    The laptop was set to auto upgrade or decided to download Maverick and when prompted to reboot it failed to come back on. It simply displayed a message saying that the HDD was corrupt and the unit should be returned to the Apple Store.

    Thanks for the reply, the macbook won't boot up past the message on screen so I can't reload an older OS system or delete or for that matter do anything with it?

    I need help, I seem to have lost all of my music from my Ipod.  I bought two albums today which are still there as well as one I added via CD last week these are the only ones that remain.  I got a message come up saying the ipod was corrupted and needed to be restored by itunes, I followed the instructions and it did  a re-sync, but now all my albums are gone, other than the ones I said already. I can't find them in itunes, niether my ones bought from itunes or the ones put on via CD... Help please I am about to throw the poxy thing out of the window and have a melt down!!!!

    Not if you first do a sync and have iTunes make a backup. However, if your only copy of the iTunes data is in the Touch, then you need to first copy the data to a new iTunes Library using third-party software such as Phone To Mac.

    Hi srinivas,
       This scenario could be frequently seen in a project. I assume the structure you mentioned is saved as a global structure, then in the query which you want to modify, right click on the structure and choose "Remove Reference". This function copies the global structure to a local one, in which you can change it and the other two won't get affected.

    Assuming 09 or later...
    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

    I found the culprit in my case:  after update to itunes 12 iPhone is X GB over the limit. 
    Check your sync settings for each type of content in the left sidebar.  In my case I had sync turned off for everything but ringtones.   After iTunes update for some reason the entire music library is set to sync with the phone.  Turning it off reconciled the storage issue.   Perhaps in your case it is some other new content marked for syncing.
