My google search bar shows history but i cannot click on the history items to return to a previous site

With firefox 3, I could click on the google search bar for history, then click on any of the history items, it would go into the google bar and I could search without retyping the address. In firefox 4 when I click on a history item, the google bar stays unchanged so to find the site I have to type in the details. When I start typing, the suggestions are shown but when I click on them nothing happens and I still have to enter the full address.

Power cycle (turn off and on) the router. In System Preferences -> Network, under WiFi does it say Self-Assigned IP Address? Click where it says location in the network's pane of WiFi, click edit location, click the plus icon and type 'test' and press done, then press apply on the next window. Click advanced then in the preferred networks tab, make sure your wifi network is at the top of the list, if it's not then drag it to the top, on the TCP/IP tab, click renew DHCP lease, on the DNS tab, click the plus icon at the bottom left, add two new dns servers: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, press OK, then press APPLY on the next window. restart the mac and see if it's fixed.

When using the Faces, they don't show. But if I click on the blank picture, they appear?

When I select Faces, the list of faces I had entered shows, but no pphotos show. When I select one of the Faces folders, the outline of the total number of pictures does show, but no photos.
Only when I click on the individual photo does it show.

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to rebuild the thumbnails. It can take 3 or 4 goes for this to work

When i serch for something the headings come up but when i click on the link it takes me to a different site to the linkn i clicked??

When i serch for a term on Firefoxthe page comes up with all the relevant serch items but when i click on one of them it takes me to a completely different web page to that on the serched items. So the only way i can find is to cut and paste the link.

The simple fact that it shows up in iTunes Search means it is in the iTune library.
It is a bug where some imports do not show up in the iTunes library (but they usually show up in Recently Imported playlist) until a restart of iTunes, which usually fixes it.

Clear recent search history in google search bar

Would someone know how to clear the recent search history in the Google search bar? There is no option for clearing the recent search, I think that was eliminated. I cleared the cache, in Safari, but that doesn't clear the google search bar. Is there an option? TIA.

I have all tabs set to open with Google search, but when I open a new tab and start typing, the letters appear in the address bar and not the Google search bar. It didn't used to be like this!

One of my set of home pages is the basic Google search page. When I open this, I can immediately start typing and the words appear in the Google search box.
If however I open a new tab (white cross far right of tab bar) and start typing, the words appear in the address bar, not in the Google search box. Of course once I click in the search box I can carry on: but I'd like to make it start there as it does with the homepage.

If you want a specific webpage (like the Google page) to always open when you open a New Tab, you can use the following add-on to Open New Tabs with your Favorite Pages:

Google search bar

My second problem of the day is that I can't get the google search bar to work.
When I hit enter the screen stays as it is and nothing happens.
It also happens when I use Firefox.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
How can I fix it??

I have been having exactly the same issue with accessing google on my mac. It doesnt matter what browser you use i.e. it could be safari or firefox, google it just will not load. I have bootcamp on my mac with windows Xp installed on it when I tried accessing google from that it worked fine!!
Google used to work fine on may mac a 4 days ago; but for same reason it has just stopped working.. Lots of other people are having the same type of issues. On one of the other forums one person replaced there non-apple wireless router with airport express and this seem to correct this issue, but I am not going to do that its far to expensive and pointless when I have a router all ready. I suppose we will just have to wait for apple to find a solution for this issue!!

Why does my cursor keep disappearing in the Google search bar?

When using FF or Google Chrome, I've noticed that my cursor keeps disappearing when using the Google search bar. I've tried using all the about:config tips, I've downgraded to earlier versions, I've pressed F7, I've unchecked the "hide cursor while typing" option in my mouse properties, I've checked for driver updates, I've tried disabling all add-ons and plug-ins, and I've checked another computer in our home as well. Same thing there. This seems to have become a problem in the last few days. IE seems unaffected by it. Just FF and Chrome.

No sir, there are no other tabs open, when it happens. For now, I've found a workaround, and I invite you to test it yourself.
I've been working on this problem all day. I've noticed that the cursor blinks very slowly in the Google search bar. If you press a key while the cursor is blinking "off", it will stay off until you let go of what key you're pressing. Conversely, if you press a key while the cursor is blinking "on", the cursor will remain visible as you type.
In IE, the cursor blinks much more rapidly, and blinks more "on" than "off." As a result the cursor remains on, no matter what you type or when, or what key you press, including the spacebar. This is not the case in FF or Chrome.
It was suggested in the Google forums that disabling "autocomplete" has helped with this problem. I followed the instructions and successfully disabled the "auto-complete" feature on Google. When I did that, I immediately noticed that the cursor blink speed doubled, like what I'm used to seeing. Further, no matter what I did, the cursor did NOT disappear anymore.

Go there and see if you notice a difference in the blink speed of the cursor. On my computer, the difference is drastic. While I do enjoy "auto-complete" and will miss this feature, I generally don't rely on it, and much prefer a consistent cursor.
I greatly look forward to your feedback on this. If you figure out a way to have Google work normally without this workaround, I will be forever in your debt.

When I click on the history icon in toolbar, I get a blank library window

I cannot see my history. When I click on the history icon in the toolbar I get a blank library window. The we address suggests things when I start to type, but I'm not sure if it's history or bookmards.

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

The little search bar used to keep Google search phrase showing but in Firefox 5.0 it doesn't. How do I get that feature back?

I'm not sure what the feature is technically called. I have Google as the start page and use that to search.
In older versions of Firefox, after entering a search phrase in the main Google search bar, the phrase was shown next to a little Google icon. It was usually below the bar showing the URL I happened to click on.
I could then open a new tab and click on the little Google icon and get more search results in that new tab. I could then compare web pages on different tabs.
Maybe I have set the tabs function up differently? In any case, I hope there is a way to use the same search phrase in different tabs.
