My google toolbar buttons are missing

After upgrading to Firefox 4 google toolbar buttons are missing. Even when using Firefox 3.6, this problem used to happen sometimes. I tried deleting localstore.rdf, but it didn't fix the problem. I have windows 7 on my laptop.

  • My browser is missing: back, refresh buttons plus File, Edit, View, Tool buttons are missing.

I installed Firefox onto my computer and in doing so it removed my browser: back, Forward, Refresh buttons; also, the File, Edit, View, Tool, Help buttons are missing.

Hit the '''Alt''' key to show the Menu bar, then open View > Toolbars and select Menu bar and Navigation bar, so they have a check-mark.

  • HT1338 There's no place on my homepage to put a web address.  Also my forward & backward buttons are missing, how can I retreive these?  I called my on-line provider & they told me I'd have to contact Apple.

On my hompage, there isn't any place to put a web address.  Also the forward & back buttons are missing.

I'm running 10.8 and Safari 6.0.2 so this might not apply to you exactly but, in that setup: in View on the menu bar is a setting for Show Toolbar. If it says "Hide Toolbar" then the toolbar is showing. If it says "Show Toolbar", it is not showing (so click on that and it will make the toolbar appear).  If only certain pieces of the toolbar are missing, use View/Customize Toolbar.

  • Toolbar buttons are not in color

I use Thunderbird (latest versions) on a windows 7 dekstop computer and on a linux mint 17 laptop. On the linux desktop the toolbar buttons all have nice colors. On my windows 7 computer the toolbar buttons are just in black, see the screenshot.
Is this the normal way of showing the toolbar buttons in windows 7?
    Thank you for your help!

This is the default theme, if you want colored icons try use another theme:

  • Since loading ver 13 the toolbar buttons are 3 times the size they were and now take up large amount of display. How do I reset them?

I tried to include a screen print to illustrate but it won't let me.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
    See:
If that didn't help then do a clean (re)install and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 13.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Scroll bar buttons are missing

scroll bar buttons, arrows at the top and bottom of the scroll bar in the Thunderbird inbox, are missing in a linux distrobution. They are present in windows XP. The version is 24.6.0. How can I get them back?

I do not have any linux system, but located this item:

  • Even in Safe Mode, minimize, restore, and close buttons are missing, though the functions remain, and a dialog box now comes up when opening FF.

Ever since I installed the latest Firefox update, the minimize, restore, and close buttons are visually missing, though their functions are still present.
I have also started to have one of those dialog boxes asking whether or not I would like to allow a program to make changes to my PC come up when I open Firefox.

Check that Firefox isn't set to run as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.
    * Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" should not be selected
    * "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" should not be selected
Also check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
If you can't make the changes then you need to start Windows Explorer as Administrator.

  • Goolge Toolbar Buttons are Gone After Installing FF 4

After getting the new FireFox version 4 I see no Google buttons anymore even tho the Google Toolbar is active. It is installed and ticked and there is even a row but it's blank. When I click View ->Toolbars and untick the Google toolar the extra space is gone.
I uninstalled the google toolbar and installed it again, tried using oldbar, and any trick I could think of but they just do not appear.

OK, I managed to figure it out and resolve it.  For those who might encounter this problem...
I started the project in FB 4, so when I installed the trial of 4.5, I just pointed the project to the 4.1 folder (because the 4.5 SDK caused some issues in my project).  When I uninstalled 4, the SDK was also removed.
The solution was to download the 4.1 SDK to the 4.5 folder, then point to that.  I had an issue in that 4.1 was the default SDK, and I had a hard time getting the "Configure SDK's" dialog to open (it kept failing with an "invalid values" message.  I finally found that clicking "specific SDK" allowed me to open the dialog.
    Hope this helps someone else.

  • Dashboard "buttons" are missing...

"Close" buttons and the arrow buttons on the bottom to navigate through widgets are missing and replaced with white boxes... Everything functions correctly, just isn't visually appealing..
    Any ideas?

    Hi van:
The previous system folder is created when you do an archive and install. It is a sort of safety net that contains all of your programs and files. It is not bootable, and I have never needed to use one after an archive and install. I do, however, keep that folder for about 3 weeks (I rarely have needed to do an archive and install) before deleting. As you may have noticed, that folder is rather large and probably should be deleted after a bit.
If you are not doing so, you might want to consider getting an external firewire drive and then using Time Machine. TM is a good way to drop back and/or recover files or even the entire system in the event of problems. I overkill backups by both using TM and also making a bootable clone of my systems on a periodic basis.

  • Right click edit gone and toolbar buttons are black and white, HELP! CS6 Dreamweaver, post update.

Right click to edit is gone and buttons are grayscale in CS6 Dreamweaver. Between yesterday and today my toolbar buttons went from color to grayscale and my ability to right click code and choose edit is gone. I did the update they pushed out. Ideas?

The Creative Cloud version of DW changed a bunch of stuff, I think the Edit Tag dialogue was one of them. Here's a few links discussing the changes...

  • Google Toolbar suggestions are partially obscured and how do I load that toolbar last?

I have seen this issue before on a different computer. The Roboform toolbar partially blocks the suggestions from the Google Toolbar's search feature. I believe that the fix that worked once was to re-order and force the Google Toolbar to load last in Firefox in the about.config settings. How do I do that because I forgot?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == Unknown on her computer.

You can try dragging the Google Toolbar below the Roboform Toolbar in "Customize". View > Toolbars > Customize (or left click in the toolbar area of Firefox) will open the "Customize Toolbar" panel. While the "Customize Toolbar" panel is open, drag the Google Toolbar down, when finished, click "Done" in the Customize panel.
If that does not work, have a look at this add-on:

  • [SOLVED] Buttons are missing in the titlebar with gtk-window-decorator

    Hi, everyone.
Recently, I'd tried compiz as WM with gnome 3 in fallback mode. All work quiet good, but there is one thing, that slightly discourages me. I use gtk-window-decorator for frames and titlebar and the results are strange. Title bar is drawn with squared left and rounded right corners. Moreover, no buttons are shown on it. "Menu" and "Minimize" buttons are here, but invisible (they are working and corresponding tooltips are shown when I hover mouse over their position); "Maximize" and "Close" buttons are absent. All this buttons are turned on in metacity properties.
When I turn off metacity theme support for gtk-window-decorator, all buttons are here, but decorator in this mode is quiet dumb...
So, have you any suggestions on how to get those buttons back?

I'm having this problem under Ubuntu, but not with my Compiz (also 0.9.4) setup with GNOME 3 on Arch. I switched to Emerald on my Ubuntu install as a temporary workaround.
Thinking about it, I think I still had the gnome-desktop2 package installed when I built compiz-core, I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Optional GNOME support is omitted in compiz-core if you upgraded to GNOME 3, because gnome-window-settings-2.0 (from the GNOME 2 gnome-control-center package I think) and gnome-desktop-2.0 are absent.

  • Custom Toolbar icons are missing for Mail

I have Mail 2.0.7 on both my iMac G5 and my PowerBook G4. On the PB under View/Customize Toolbar, there are icon options, such as "add to address book" that are not available for some reason on my desktop. Why is that and what can I do to get them (if anything)?

Had to go to the main MAIL window in order to see all of the icons.

  • LAYOUT BUTTONS ARE MISSING!

Up at the top of the window to the right of the stamp tool there are suppossed to be four buttons called "layout buttons." I don't have those on my Aperture. I am running the most recent version of Aperature. Can anybody tell me how to find those? There should be a "standard, project management , ratings and keywords and adjustments and filters" layout.

I FINALLY FOUND A FIX TO THIS PROBLEM!!!
I copied the pref file off of my old powerbook over the pref file on my new mac book pro. the buttons came back. Here's how I figured it out, and why it worked.
I did a "show contents" on the Aperture application and found that the buttons I was missing are still in Aperture. I also knew that it should work because updating doesn't remove them, its just installing the newest update before launching aperture for the first time that does it. My old Powerbook that was running the newest Aperture still had the layout buttons in the toolbar. I copied my prefs over and they came back.
I would be happy to email you my pref file if you like. Just post your email on here that you want me to send it to.
