My hard drive died, so I need a new serial number to reinstall Lightroom.

Hello,
My hard drive died, so I need a new serial number to reinstall Lightroom. How do I go about having another serial number emailed to me?
Thanks!

if you have your serial number then all you need to do is download the Lightroom installer and install the program. Use your existing serial number. If you don't have your serial number, but registered Lightroom with Adobe then you can login to your Adobe account and get the serial number.

    Hi Corinne,
You can try and perform the installation on another machine and it should work fine for you. Can you please let us know if this is able to solve the issue for you or not.

  • Replaced harddrive after it crashed-I need a new serial number. have redemption code

I replaced my harddrive on my laptop using windows 7. I lost abobe photo lightroom 5. I have my disk, redemption codes, id, and pass word. I need a new serial number to reinstall.

You don't need a new serial number, you need  your previous serial number to use, again.  You can only use the redemption code, once, and need to have recorded your serial number, somewhere.
The usual place to get your old serial number back is by logging into www.adobe.com and clicking Manage account then a few more clicks into your product lists and you'll see all the serial number for your registered products.
If you never registered your LR copy with Adobe then they won't have your serial number.  I don't know if there's a way to get it back or not.  You can try doing the help and support option on adobe.com and get to where you Still Need Help and do the Chat option and see if they have your old serial number stored somewhere even if you never registered it.

  • HT1386 My hard drive died and I need to resync my iPad.  Will just following the initial instructions resync my iPad and restore all my information or do I need to try to recover the iPad file from the dead hard drive?

My hard drive died and I need to resync my Ipad.  Will following the initial instructions for syncing work or do I need to restore my original files from the dead hard drive.

If the hard drive that crashed is the one that stored the itunes library, be sure to restore the library from Time Machine (mac) or whatever backup you use on windows.  That will get back your music.  I suspect that the replacement drive has an empty itunes library and thus, perhaps, the itunes match used that to sync to its servers.
Try posting in the iTunes Match forum, you'll probably find more knowledgeable folks there.

  • We have a 4 year old iMac 24 inch.  My hard drive died and we have a new hard drive now, but all that the fixit shop put on it was the Snow Leopard OS;  can I ask Apple for a download of our other many software programs to reload them?  Does it cost to do

We have a 4 year old iMac 24 inch.  The hard drive died and we had a new hard drive installed.  They only installed the Snow Leopard OS on it, and there were many software programs that came with the iMac originally.. now missing.  Does anyone know whether Apple will resupply these?  I do have an Apple installation disc but have upgraded from the original Leopard to Snow Leopard... so the OS is not quite the same.  Ideas?  Thanks!

No bootable bakup/clone or Time Machine backup? No initial install discs? If no to both of those, call 1-800-MY-APPLE and request replacement discs for that machine. They're available for a nominal S&H charge.

Try deauthorizing the computer even if you haven't authorized it. If you've already authorized it, deauthorize it twice and then authorize it again.

Frmontoy1 please be aware that it is not possible to request a platform swap for Creative Suite 5.  Platform swaps can only be requested for the current version of an Adobe Creative Software title.
If you wish to use Adobe Creative software on Mac OS then I would recommend either upgrading to Creative Suite 6 or obtaining a Creative Cloud membership.  You can purchase an upgrade for Creative Suite 6 at https://www.adobe.com/products/catalog/cs6._sl_id-contentfilter_sl_catalog_sl_software_sl_ creativesuite6.html.
You can also currently qualify for a special price on a Creative Cloud membership since you own Creative Suite 5.  You can find more details https://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/buying-guide.html.  Please also be aware that a Creative Cloud or point product subscription will allow you to install the Adobe Creative software on both Mac OS and Windows.

  • HP Mini 110-3131DX. Hard drive replacement; do I need a new one and where would I get it?

I dropped my HP Mini 110-3131DX directly on it's spine and ever since it only turns on to show the startup screen and these error messages:
    HARD DISK ERROR
Please run the hard disk test in system diagnostics.
    Hard Disk 1 (3F1)
    F2  System Diagnostics
Then, it takes a LONGGGG time to even get me to the right screen to do the test ( I have to restart the computer to be able to renavigate to the screen) and it says Hard Disk test failed. What do I do now? Do I have to put in a new hard drive? Where do I buy my specific new hard drive? I really need some help.

  • My MacBook Pro hard drive died and under warranty a new one installed (hence lost everything).  I have updates outstanding in App Store but can't update due to Apple Id under a foreign name I have tried every possible angle. Stuck!

    Hi,
I think I know the answer but just to be sure.
To update outstanding Apps in the App Store do I really need to have the person who purchased or downloaded them to sign in?
How can I remove his Apple ID altogether as this person holds no connection to me at all.
His Apple ID has come with my newly installed hard drive (works carried out under warranty), so I'm
    assuming it is 2nd hand.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You will need to erase the HDD and start over by reinstalling the OS and setting the Mac up as a new one with your own Apple ID.

  • Old hard drive died; can't sync with new HD

    Hello!
I recently replaced my hard drive on my computer. When I go to sync my nano, it gives me the option only to "Erase and Sync" my ipod with the music that is already on my hard drive. This would mean I would lose everthing on my nano, including some rather pricey audiobooks. Obviously I want to save these files. Is there anyway to move the information from my nano to the ipod program? I have already "authorized" my new hard drive with itunes.
    Thanks,
    Brad in Dallas

Connect your iPod to your computer. When you get the message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use our iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod.
The transfer of content sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:
Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Comparison of iPod managers
    TuneJack Windows Only
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    SharePod Windows Only
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows
iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

  • Hard Drive died.  Install PS on new computer?

I was running PS5 on two computers, one of which crashed a couple of days ago and is irreparable.  I have reinstalled my second (of two) licenses on my laptop and registered it as prompted during the installation process.  I am now being asked to uninstall PS from one of my two computers (my primary or now dead one).  Obviously, I cannot uninstall a copy, and I am being told I have 30 days before my newly installed computer will not be able to run PS.  Suggestions, please?  Thanks!

That wouldn't have worked when I had HD:0 die on me with BOTH activations on it. (I had set up my machine to dual boot to Win-7 beta as well as XP to see if the tales of better memory management were correct. Photoshop CS5 is now only on the non-beta Win-7 side.)
The person had to talk with a supervisor, but I had both installs deactivated within 5 minutes of speaking to the Help Desk.
