My hard drive was replaced, I cannot log into my account

My MacBook Pro fell, and I had it repaired by Micro Center, which amounted to them replacing the hard drive. Now, I cannot figure how to do anything with my Admin Account (System Preferences --> Accounts --> User (Admin). I have no password that works when I try to unlock the access. Micro Center seemed confused that there was a password, and said they do not 'add' passwords (suggesting they never understood my question, and I did not have the laptop with me to show them). I cannot use Disk Utility from the startup CD, because, well, Micro Center's tech never returned the CD to me when I picked up the Mac after the repair; apparently he must have lost it (I had included it w/ the laptop because it was the only way to turn on the laptop after the hard drive broke).
Any other suggestions for me to access the Admin account on my own laptop? I tried typing "Admin" as the password (that worked on a prior mac, I think). Thanks.
p.s. It's a Macbook Pro purchased in 2010 running OSX 10.6.3.

You should still insist that they return your disc, or buy one for you. It will be needed when it's not convenient for you to go and buy one.

Have spent a week trying to get iwork opened ( use Pages for my business ) - read almost every support, tried all options to no avail - earlier restore using Time Machine after affected Seagate hard drive was replaced no charge.
The error message reads: "Pages cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Pages works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. 2) If recompense is not forthcoming by negotiation I will initiate a campaign on all Social Networks to let the world know that Apple may sell you an unreliable toxic hard drive which will cost your business a truck load of money .... they openly admit that some of their 1TB Seagate hard drive's ( probably millions ) sold in an historic space were corrupted and should be replaced free of charge. Hey, that's the worry free bit ! I employ people who need to be paid! I didn't order their belighted hard drive!!

My hard drive was replaced and I lost all of my songs in my account. Now that Im trying to sync my iPod its telling me that my iPod is already sync'd to a different account and I have to erase what's already on my iPod?? I dont even care about the few songs I lost, but I have alot of songs that were uploaded from CDs to my old account that are on my iPod now,..not erase them and only be able to upload what I originally purchased. Weird thing is, I didnt open a new account, Ive been logging into my existing accont with the same user name/password. Only difference is, now when I log on,..all plalists are empty? Thoughts????

ITunes does not recognize these back up files even though the location is the same as cloud & recently burned music that does show- help! The backup files consist of 34,000+ songs; almost all burned from my own CD collection. I do have most of the songs on an ipod classic but hesitate to try to restore from that. The right-hand side shows the files that should be found in the iTunes library folder; sentinel is normally hidden so may not be visible. The core of your iTunes library is the file iTunes Library.itl, you need to restore this, the other library files and the Album Artwork folder, as well as the media folder, to restore your library.

When I look at my backed-up iphoto library folder I see lots of files and folders: ALbumData.xml, Attachments folder, etc. The 9.6.1 iphoto library doesn't appear to be a folder at all. Help!

iPhoto 6 and earlier libraries were regular folders with the kind of files your reporting. With the advent of iPhoto 7 the library folder was changed to a package similar to the application packages but have essentially the same files and folders inside. There's no reason to have access to the inside of the iPhoto Library so Apple changed them to packages.
Do you have a backup copy of the iPhoto Library from before the HD crash. If so restore it to the Pictures folder in your Home folder. If you previous version of iPhoto was iPhoto 7 or earlier download and run the iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.1 on your library before trying to open it with iPhoto 9.6.1.

I had my hard drive replaced, by warranty. Guys in service centre installed 10.6.7 , but as my mac is a new one, and was eligible for free install of Lion. Unfortunately I didn't use time machine, so i don't have a back-up on software (I guess it's included in Time Machine). I have tried to download Lion from the Apple store application - it says - The file got somehow corrupted, and didn't run the installation. I have tried to download t once again - AppleStore app said it's installed already - And I couldn't download it again. I've decided to reinstall MacOS from DVD's I got with my mac and to try again. Now AppStore offers me to buy it! But it's supposed to be free, just because I had it installed already, isn't it? I wrote an email in Hardware up-to-date program, hope they'll help, but my mac was bought almost half a year ago.. What else can i do? Can somebody give me any advice, please?

You bought your Mac after Lion came out? Right?
You then upgrade from snow Leopard (10.6.x) to Lion (10.7.x), correct? How did you do the upgrade the first time?
You had to logon to the Apple Mac store and use your purchase date and serial number to get the free upgrade the first time. Just do that again.
Maybe not through the App store? Maybe through Apple Support after logging into your account and viewing your registered products?

have you tried resetting your MacBook Pro’s System Management Controller, to see if that makes a difference with the heat?

My hard drive was replaced and could transfer CC or Lightroom. I didn't see where or how to reinstall the programs.

Where so I go to reinstall CC and Lightroom after the Hard drive is replaced? Hope it is one of the easier processes.
