plug your ipod in you computer, go to itunes choose the songs and scroll right to 'devices' an choose yours.

I had some time finally figuring why I could buy and download from the Itunes store, but could not load it on my IPOD. What finally worked was plugging my IPOD in to the computer, as I would when "syncing", and, after loading, it would show my device in the side bar. You have to go to VIEW in the top Tool Bar and click on SHOW SIDE BAR in the drop down menu. "SUMMARY' tab, on top, is what I clicked on to show an option of restoring my IPOD to the factory defaults. It erases everything on the IPOD, but gives an option of AUTOFILL afterwards, which it does from the computer. This is one solution of many you could try. Good luck.

Does anyone know why my iTunes won't sync with my iPod nano. When I follow all the directions, the last step says "Click on Apply", but there is no "Apply" on the screen.

Double check to make sure podcasts and configured to sync to your device from under the iPod's Podcast configuration tab.
To access the Podcasts tab for your iPod, plug your iPod in and click on it from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes. This will bring you to the Summary tab. Along the top you should see a Podcasts tab, so go ahead and click on it. Here you can configure how and what podcasts sync to your iPod.
If you do make any changes to do this tab, make sure to hit the Apply button in the lower right hand corner to apply the update changes to your device.

Have iTunes version 10 .3 but do not understand cloud in iTunes 11.03 can someone explain it and also how do you find duplicates in new version and will the new version sync with my iPod Classic which I have had for 4 years

I have iTunes version 10.03 which I love but my iPad Apple mini has iOS 7 but I don't understand the new iTunes what is the cloud shown next to the music and how can I find duplicates can anyone help me navigate the new iTunes and will the new version sync with my iPod Classic which is 4 years old

The main differences between iTunes 11 and earlier versions are the loss of coverflow and ability to have multiple windows open.
In Windows, you can restore much of the look & feel of iTunes 10.7 with these shortcuts:
ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album (Grid) view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
With iTunes 11.0.3 and later you can enable artwork in the Songs view from View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) making it more like the old Album List view
View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) also contains options to change the sorting of grid based views
The cloud icons give you access to stream or download any qualifying past purchases that you don't currently have downloaded to the library.
Regarding duplicates, things haven't really changed. Apple's official advice is here... HT2905 - How to find and remove duplicate items in your iTunes library. It is a manual process and the article fails to explain some of the potential pitfalls.
Use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicate Items to display duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. You need to manually select all but one of each group to remove. Sorting the list by Date Added may make it easier to select the appropriate tracks, however this works best when performed immediately after the dupes have been created. If you have multiple entries in iTunes connected to the same file on the hard drive then don't send to the recycle bin. Use my DeDuper script if you're not sure, don't want to do it by hand, or want to preserve ratings, play counts and playlist membership. See this thread for background and please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping.

I have moved my music to my new mac air but now it won't sync with my ipod or my iphone 4s

I have transferred mymusic to my new mac air from an acer laptop via an external hard drive and it's all there on the mac but now itunes won't sync with my ipod touch or my iphone 4s.
With the ipod it says 'iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. Could not connect to the device " It also doesn't show up at all in the devices section.
With the iphone it says there isn't enough space to sync even though I have experimented and unticked various things including photos which takes up a lot of space. It seems like it wants to sync with the empty space on the iphone (very small!) and not with the whole thing. I have tried various things suggested on this forum but have had no luck.

I have itunes set up to sync with my Ipod Touch and my Ipad. As of today, it keeps looking for an iPhone to sync with and give me an error message. I don't have an iPhone and don't know how to stop it from popping open with this error message.

You should really read the manual.

They would only be where you put them. What program did you use to import them? Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer.

Are you sure your iPod Classic is configured to sync podcasts to your device? You'll want to double check by taking a quick look at your iPod's Podcast configuration tab in iTunes.
To access this tab, plug your iPod in and click on it from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes when it appears to bring yourself to the iPod's Summary tab. Now locate the Podcasts tab and select it. Under this tab you can configure how and what podcasts are synced to your device. If you make any changes, be sure to click theApply button in the lower right hand corner.

ITunes library won't sync with iPhone 5s

My problem is on an iPhone 5S 16GB running iOS 8.0.2...
Recently I had to remove my music from my iPhone in order to create space to apply the iOS 8 update. When I went to add the music back to my phone, there are songs in iTunes that won't sync. All of the songs I am trying to add back were on the phone before the iOS 8 update was installed. Up to this point I have not had any problems adding or deleting music from the phone / library.
FYI, I am only using genuine Apple cords to connect to my computer, so generic cables are not an issue.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Same issue here, but on an iPhone 4.
Tried multiple combinations of unchecking playlist, reboot mac, reboot phone ... nothing worked.
Re-initialized the phone and bam .. music is synching.

I have the same problem since I updated to iTunes 10.2 Sue (I think). For me this was somewhere in January.
I wasn't sure iTunes was the issue, until I read your post. I tested syncing a note, and that works fine.
My 2nd generation Ipod Touch runs on IOS 4.2.1. It won't upgrade to 4.3.
Possibly the synchonisation between iTunes 10.2 and IOS 4.2.1 doesn't work correctly.
Has somebody else solved this isue? I use both calendars (on iPod Touch and on PC) for work and private matters.
Otherwise I have to uninstall iTunes 10.2 and downgrade to 10.2.

In terms of updating the iPad, your games progress should be included in the backup. How long it takes to udpate will depend upon your content on the iPad (it will backup and restore it, though the contents of the iPod and Videos apps aren't included in a backup) and wifi speed - the iOS update file is something like 700 meg so may take a while to download.
To update, connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11). You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes (on iTunes 11 you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC), and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

An iPad 1 will update to iOS 5.1.1, and an iPad 2 and 3 to iOS 6.0.1 (which is the only version that is 'signed' by Apple), so you will lose the built-in YouTube app and the Maps app will change.
