My hdd on my 2013 mbp has completely disappeared, do I need to bring it in to the genius bar?

it's been almost exactly a year with my 2013 macbook pro, and all of a sudden a few days ago I had to force quit it and when I tried to boot it up again I got the flashing question mark folder. I tried internet recovery but my hard drive disk isn't showing up where it's supposed to. I think I have a few days left on my warranty, should I just bring it in to the genius bar?

    Hours and Hours of renaming, adding cover photos and so on have been for nothing. Itunes cannot find the files since they're not in the library at all!

    Did you use spotlight to search? (I'm assuming you have a Mac as given above despite this thread being in the Windows forum). How long have you used iTunes on this computer? Is there a backup to your library, perhaps an only copy of it on a machine you've "retired". Is the media present in the media folder? (Yes, you've answered that earlier.) If so then the media files should have absorbed all the tag changes that you made and reimporting the media into a new library might not be a complete disaster, though playlists, playcounts, ratings etc. would be irretrievably lost.

    Hi, Michelle. Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
    Have you tried resetting the SMC? The SMC (System Management Controller) has control over the charging function, so resetting it may help.

    Well I was able to successfully revert back to iTunes8. Here's my steps:
    1. In Add/Remove Programs I deleted all Apple products (iTunes, QuickTime, Safari, Bonjour, etc.)
    2. I then check C:\Program Files\ and made sure all folders were deleted (QuickTime, etc.)
    3. I then ran a Registry Cleaner program to make sure all entries from Apple products were removed.
    4. I then rebooted my PC
    5. I then downloaded iTunes8.0.2 from here: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/ipod_itunes/itunes802forwindows.html
    6. After it installed it said it could use my iTunes library file because it was created with a newer version. So I re-created my library by following these steps: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1451
    It took some time but iTunes is now back up and running. And I have all my playlists, etc. I haven't tried to sync anything yet. I'm just thrilled to have my iTunes back!

I have a MacBook Pro, it has came up saying I need to free up space on the disk as it full every time it starts up, so I log in and no icons or applications show up on the screen just my background wallpaper, the only thing I can do is the force quit keyboard shortcut but there is nothing to quit, I have tried to start up in safe mode but again there is no icons in the desktop,
    I have my disks that came with my laptop I have went into disk utility to repair disk and I still seem to have the same problem .. No icons or apps or anything lol just the cursor I can only shut down the laptop via power but and the press shut down.
    Please help I am going out my mind with this thing :(

    This can be used to boot the machine and delelte enough files to get it to boot normally.
    .Create a data recovery/undelete external boot drive
    Read about storage drive so you can store your extra stuff.
    Most commonly used backup methods

    The battery life between charges on my iPad has plummeted to about 2 hours.  The guy at the genius bar said the charge should last about 10 hours and suggested it might be an app (unfortunately I didn't have the device with me and the nearest Apple Store to me is 2 hours away).  Does anyone know of apps that cause heavy drains on power?  It also does not charge when it is plugged into my MacBook while I am using the iPad but it does when I am not using the iPad.  I mostly use the iPad to read e-mails, play Team Lava games, read books through iBooks or Kobo and the ABC Player.  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

    Restore is about the only option left, short reinstalling the whole thing as new.
    Before you restore, go to I tunes and turn off automatic sync.  Then plug the machine in.  Upload any photos that you have taken with the pad into I photos, or where ever you keep your pictures.  Then, in I tunes, transfer any purchases.
    If any apps or purchased music get lost in the process, you can download them again for free.
    You do not want to make a backup of what you have on the pad now. If you do, when you restore, you will simply recreate the same problem.
    What you want to do is restore from a prior backup.  Do that. 
    Then run the system status app and see what the CPU numbers look like.  If they are ok, then you can start to re add apps until the problem shows up.
    If this does not do it, then the last step is to set the pad up as new.  Check the numbers, then add the apps and settings back one by one.    While it is likely to be an app, it may be a setting somewhere.

    I plugged a model A1034 Airport Extreme Base Station into the Verizon DSL Actiontec GT704-WGB modem with an ethernet cable and now the AirPlay icon appears in the Itunes window immediately to the right of the volume control and I can select it and play Airtunes wirelessly through the A1038 Airport Express Base Station in another room connected to a stereo amplifier by a Monster mini-to-RCA left/right audio cable running from the output jack on the A1034 Airport Express Base Station into the CD jacks on the amp.  The problem is that I have to select the Apple Network Airport Express Base Station as my network in order to select the Airport Express Base Station when I click the AirPlay icon, which means I have no Internet signal to the Imac. If I select the Airport Extreme Base Station or the Verzion modem as my network, then I have an Internet signal to the Imac, but the Airport Express Base Station is grayed out when I click on the AirPlay icon, so I cannot select the Airport Express Base Station and send tunes to the Airport Express.  It would be nice to play Airtunes while simultaneously accessing the Internet.  I don't understand your question about what program I am using for which I require AirPlay.  I am not learned about computers in general, and even less so about Macs than PCs.  I thought the program I was running was Itunes, and there was no separate program to run to use AirPlay for the purpose of sending a signal from the Itunes on the Imac to the A1084 Airport Express base station in a another room, and then out as described above to the stereo amplifier to listen to Itunes music remotely in the other room, without any kind of cable, wire, etc., connecting the Imac to the stereo amplifier.  I would guess that the most common use for the A1084 is to play Itunes through a stereo in another room without the need to run wires from the computer to the stereo.  I realize it would be easy simply to run a very long mini-to-RCA left/right audio cable across the floor connecting the Imac to the amp without the need to use AirTunes, Airplay or any kind of AirPort, but it would be both unsightly and a tripping hazard.

    It sounds like you are mixing up several different things (or not using the terminology that Apple uses).
    One thing is backup. You can backup via icloud or via iTunes and there is no reason you cannot do both -- I do and the second link below from Apple gives instructions. Doing a backup will include photos from the Camera Roll in the backup but you will not be able to see the results -- all of the backup data will be stored on iCloud or on your computer in files that are not designed to be accessed by you for any purpose other than restoring to your phone in the event of a problem.     If you simply want to transfer photos from an iPhone to a computer, the terminology Apple uses for that is "import" and it is done without iTunes. New photos (taken after you change the setting) can be done via PhotoStream which is a cloud based option. The other option is via cable. Instructions for both: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083
    Syncing via iTunes (with regard to photos) is used to transfer photos the other direction -- from the computer to the phone. Instructions for that http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236

    Yes, unless the iOS version is explicitly marked as free. Mac OS X and iOS versions of the same application are separate products.

    My DVD drive seems to have completely disappeared The last thing I did before shutting down was watch a DVD.
    The next time I booted up the DVD was gone from my desktop, when selecting the DVD player it says "A valid DVD drive could not be found [-70012], iPhoto says there is no burning device, System Profiler says "No burning device was found. If you are using an external device please make sure that it is connected and powered properly." Hitting the eject button on either the keyboard or in iTunes does nothing...I don't even get the eject icon that flashes in the middle of the screen. There has been no change or update to my OS.     This has just happened to me. I was playing, ripping, burning DVDs without a problem and then, over the weekend, the SuperDrive just quit operating accompanied by the same messages the original poster detailed. I find it hard to accept the Superdrive just "died" but I've done everything, I mean EVERYTHING, and I can't get it start responding again. At a certain point, I guess there is nothing else to do other than replace the drive but I can't help but feeling there has to be some way to bring this drive back to life. It wasn't giving out any sign that there was a physical problem and there was no period of time of spotty operation. I keep thinking if I could find some info about flashing the Superdrive's firmware or replacing the drive's driver/kext files, one of these would end up "fixing" the drive but it seems like once the drive goes "bad" everyone ends up replacing the drive rather than trying to track down any fix. A replacement drive is cheap enough and the capabilities of the newer Superdrives are superior so maybe I need to get over it and just realize replacing the drive is actually the more efficient and effective course of action but I still wonder if there isn't a system/system software problem that will end up re-emerging with a new drive.

    Hi guys, I'm in a real stooper, my facebook app. Was due an upgrade but soon after the upgrade it stopped working and everytime I click on to the icon it crashes the phone so I have to switch it on and off again to get it working, it then displays an error message. I've also noticed that my blackberry app. World icon has totally disappeared.
