my home button does not work on my iphone, can this be fixed or do i have to get another phone.

Hi I got two ideas for you, give them a read and let me know how you get on. I used the first about a month ago and not had a problem since This is defo not a software related problem.

Restore, if iTunes will let you. Everything except the password will be restored. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. Be forewarned that it takes a long time. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

You can use the Power button to wake the iPod so yu cn then unlock the iPod.
Next try connecting the iPod to your computer and try to restore via iTunes.
You can also use theis program to place the iPod in recovery mode without using switches.

If yuo have iOS 5 you can, when the iPod is working, use Assistive Touch accessibility feature to do most functions without the Home button. (Settings>General>Accessibility>Assistive Touch).

Sorry but that makes no sense at all. How can they possible know what things will possible malfunction on your device? Anything that they think is highly likely to malfunction they would have addressed in desiging and manufacturing the device in the first place, during development. They've made and sold many millions of iPhones, and many of them have lasted years without any problems (I know, I've owned such iPhones personally). It's hardware - stuff sometimes breaks randomly. No amout of money ever guarantees or even reduces the likelyhood of random product failures.
Take it in to Apple and see about getting it fixed.

If you are unable to restore your iPhone with iTunes without having to enter the passcode, you will not be able to update your iPhone's backup. You will need to place the iPhone into recovery mode in order to restore the iPhone with iTunes and you can restore from the most recent backup available.

Particularly:
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.

How can i restore my iphone when my home button doesnt work

My Iphone freezes on the enter passcode, and then decides to go of and comes back on. The only thing is, is that i cant restore my iphone since my home button isnt working.
