  • TS3274 My home button is non responsive?????

    My home button will not minimize screens and can't stop jiggling icons, for example.

    1. Open a stock iOS app, such as Contacts
    2. Press & hold the sleep/wake button at the top of your device until the red slider control appears.
    3. Immediately release the sleep/wake button and press & hold the Home button. Hold until the red slider disappears. Release the Home button and test it now.

  • Home Hub v1 non-responsive user interface

    I haven't used the home hub for a couple of years, but because of ongoing IP profile problems I've got it out of storage to use in place of my Draytek 2600.
    Using the internet works fine, but more often than not when I'm trying to configure application sharing, or fixed IP addresses, etc. the hub user interface just freezes and won't respond.  Only solution is to turn the hub off and back on.
    Is there a fix to this problem of a non-responsive hub user interface?

    Reset it to factory defaults by holding the wireless ass. button on the back of the hub down until all the lights go off and then try again.
    Yes, I believe it's a Hub 1.0.  It's white, and very old.

    What software version is it currently on? If its been in storage it probably has not been updated.
    It says firmware version 6.2.2.6.  Is that the latest?
    No, but it's the last version that allowed telnet access. Mine's locked to that version for that reason.
    I do find the browser interface sluggish at times, but I don't use it much as the telnet/CLI allows for much more control and configuration.

  • New ipad 2 home button is not responsive

    I got a refurbished ipad 2 from apple store and when i open the ipad at home, i see the iPad 2 home button is not so responsive. I tried resetting but it didnt work.
    Do i need to take it apple store or return back.

    Exactly the same i got a replacement Ipad 2 weeks before my warranty ran out,after about a week of working perfect the home button starting playing up. I inserted the power cord into the bottom and pulled up on it slightly so it pushes up on the home button and it has worked perfect all week until last night,so i did it again and its fine again but for how long? If it does it again im going to return it again as you get 90 days warranty on the replacement,it must be a hardware issue.

  • TS1382 4th gen iPod nano wheel and buttons still non-responsive after all t-shooting suggestions performed.

    My beautiful 1 year old daughter pull my nano off a Bose speaker dock and ever since the wheel and buttons have been non-responsive.  I've tried a rest and all troubleshooting steps with no luck.  Does anyone out there have any other suggestions?  Thanks.

  • My Ipad's home button is no response

    Hello everybody.
    I brought my Ipad in US but I moved to another country now.
    My Ipad have problem on the home button
    how can I got the repair service?
    is there anybody can tell me what can I do ?
    please help

    I am having the same home button issues. I purchased my iPad2 online here in the states. it has been working beautifully until today. This is a real problem for me since I have my school books on the iPad. I've done what most of you have done, everything form a restore to synching several times. Once its on one app, it can function on the one app, but will not let me go to another app without the restore button being pushed in and then back to the home screen. I pick an app, it opens it, then the Home button will not let me move to other apps. I have a call into Apple to call me, If I find anything out, I'll post what I find out.
    I can't imagine what I'm going to do if they have to take my iPad2 away to fix it, I don't have a hard copy of my Graduate text books, and I would have to pay twice for them. The books are on the Kindle App since iBooks didn't have these books.

  • I cannot download anything from Apple website.  Button seems non-responsive.

    I checked security, router settings, nothing seems wrong.  I can download from other sites.  Help!

    Great news. Your advise worked and skype was downloaded to my desktop. Is this good or bad thing? Is this a System issue?
    The browser could not download, this is a browser problem or user account. The terminal could reach out and successfully download, this is proof of concept not a system wide problem and downloads are doable.
    How to proceed to resolve the issue?
    -do you have a back-up from a trouble free time to revert back to
    -you could try deleting the respected Download.plist for each browser, ex. found in user/Library/Safari/ Downloads.plist and relaunch browser.
    -try a Safe Boot this may indicate third party extension or plug-in problem. Try your browser in SafeBoot. Restart.
    -open a guest account and see if the problem persist, this may indicate problem is isolated to admin/user account
    -try downloading a new Firefox and Safari browser to replace. (via the terminal command.)
    -if you have SpeedDownload installed, uninstall it.
    -try running Repair Disk and Repair Permissions from the install DVD utilities menu-->Disk Utilities.app or run Disk Warrior; throwing everything at it you could re-install the OS from the install DVD on top of your existing OS and run the combo update, preserving all your personal files.
    -short of that I would take it to an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) for evaluation, or call your nearest Apple Contact Center. Visit the Genius Bar at the Apple Retail Store, make a reservation

  • New Printer - Install - OK Button for Language Selection Non-Responsive

    I just unboxed my work printer at home and was attempting to set it up. The drivers installed properly on to my computer. However, the last portion for me to complete set up is to set up the language which then will I believe ask for time zone, etc. The problem I'm having is when it asks for language the OK button is non responsive. I tried clicking on anything on the keypad and stil nothing. I reset the computer and printer. Unplugged the printer and started it back up... still nothing. Anyone have any idea why this is happening or am I doing something wrong or not doing something that should be done? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Respectfully, Robin

  • How do I get to settings with a non-functioning home button - iPod touch5

    My daughter dropped her iPod touch (gen. 5) and now the home button is not responsive.  It will not 'click'.  It is not stuck, it seems to have lost a piece under the home button and now is very loose and constantly down.  I am trying to use the 'home button app/screen setting' but I can't get to the settings screen because her iPod is in an app that I can't shut down.  There is no way to go 'home' or to 'settings' with out the home button.

    Without the Home button being functional enough to access Settings and to turn on the Accessibility function which could provide an on-screen Home button, there is not much you can do.
    Take it in to get it repaired.
    Cheers,

  • HOME button: possible response solution?

    I don't know if this helps anyone else, but I turned OFF the "Double-clicking the Home Button" goes to "iPod Controls" feature under the General Settings. My Home button seems more responsive with this option turned off. I used to press it several times before it would respond. Seems to be working for me this way... anyone else having this issue?

    Hello,
    I suggest taking the phone back to the store.
    I had this problem before with one of the iphones I received as an exchange. I think the button is not installed correctly, the issue with that phone was that the button is not responsive at all, it only responds when i press down towards the bottom or center of the home button, if i press just few mm above the center of the button, it wouldn't respond. I took mine back for an exchange and the new phone didn't have this problem.

  • Mavericks won't install, the button in App Store is blank and non-responsive.

    This is extremely frustrating, and I have read every website trying to answer this issue. None of their problems match mine.
    I tried to download Mavericks yesterday. It appeared to download as normal, with the icon in launch pad, but the progress bar never moved. I cancelled the download, and tried to restart it. The download button is non-responsive. I've tried going to the store tab, clicking unfinished downloads, and it says all downloads are complete.
    When I go to purchases, Mavericks is listed under "other downloads," but the button is solid black with no text, e.g. download or install, and is non-responsive. Clicking the button does nothing.
    I have tried using CCleaner to clean the app store's cache, restarting the computer with a full shutdown, quitting and restarting App Store, etc. Nothing works.
    If I close and reopen App Store after a full shut down, Mavericks will disappear from the purchases menu. If I go to Mavericks, click "free upgrade," then button changes to "install." When I click install, nothing happens. Mavericks reappears under the purchases menu with its button, again, completely black with no text. The button is non-responsive.
    Having a $2,500 Mac, I have to say that I am extraordinarily upset with the shoddy work of Apple over the past few years. For $2,500 I expect the product to work.

    Actually, it appears to have started downloading, even the the purchases tab still doesn't reflect it.
    Try what I did, typing "sudo nvram boot-args="-x"" (include the quotations around the -x), and then entering your account password.
    Reboot the system, which will cause it to do a full reboot (you'll find your mac operates very slowly). Log into your account, then try hitting "free upgrade" and "download" from the Mavericks page in app store (not the purchases tab). It will ask you for your Apple ID and password, then it *should* automatically take you to launch pad.
    If the download doesn't seem to be progressing, press the icon in launch pad to pause it. Exit launch pad and scroll down in App Store to 'free apps" on the right side. Click to download one of them, enter your password and Apple ID as usual, and see if it downloads. Once finished, hit the Mavericks icon again to unpause it. It should start then. It's clearly a very large install, so over the past thirty minuites the progress bar has moved roughly a milimeter.

  • Canon pixma mg3510, plug in, push ON, green light comes on, ALL buttons non-responsive

    Tanner,
    Your Lombard can run a maximum of 512MB of RAM (2x256MB). The memory module for the top slot is standard height which is approximately 2.0"; the module for the lower (bottom) slot is low-profile, meaning 1.5" or less. The standard height module will only work in the top slot; the low-profile will work in either slot. Also, these 256MB modules are unique to the early iMac, Wallstreet, and Lombard; generic 256s will not work properly.
    Generally, when a powerbook's sleep light comes on when either a charged main battery and/or a power adapter is connected, and a power manager reset does not resolve the issue, you have some other hardware problem. Since the 'book is not even turned on, bad RAM would not cause this. If memory were bad, you may or may not get the startup chime, but then you would receive a dialog box on the lit display of a problem with RAM or cache memory in 9.x; OSX does not have this dialog box but nonetheless the POST (power on self-test) still runs.
    When you get a power adapter, I would try this:
    -remove all power;
    -remove the optical drive;
    -lift off the keyboard and very carefully disconnect the keyboard ribbon cable;
    -disconnect the rechargeable backup battery (PRAM battery);
    -lift out the microprocessor card, remove both memory modules;
    -disconnect the HD ribbon cable from the logic board;
    -reinstall the microprocessor card without any memory;
    -connect just the power adapter, then press the power button; if no response, press the reset button on the back panel, then try the power button.
    In the above, you have stripped down the powerbook to its bare essentials for a power test. If you have no hardware problem, you should have no light steady sleep light and when the power button is pressed, you should hear 1-beep...no RAM detected.

    If the above produces no positive results, then you have a failed component somewhere.

  • Resolve iOS 8 issues - lagging, non-responsive screen and on-button, pages not loading, 3G use constantly curtailed.

    Since updating my iPad2 with iOS 8 and the subsequent upgrade, my iPad has, ti allintents and purpses, become more of a burden than a useful everyday tool.
    Specifically, there are many, many issues that are causing total havoc, namely:
    - pages lag on loading, or simply do not load AT ALL, going back to the App page instead
    - the ON button is non-responsive about 5 times out of 8 that I will want to switch it on
    - the 3G cellular use is virtually non-existant. To use 3G, I first have to go to SETTINGS, then RESET ALL NETWORK SETTINGS, then wait 5 minutes. This will give me between 3 and 26 hours 3G use
    - there is some kind of "jerkinness" when switching between the app page and actual app.
    Whereas in the past all functions worked seamlessly, now I find that the iPAD has become totally unreliable. To make matters worse, when I approached the Apple support team nearest to me, I was told that many of these are common issues that have come about with the latest upgrade, and that if I wish, Apple will replace my iPAD2 with a like product for €299.00. As I have not caused the issues through mishandling or mis-use, this should not be replaced AT MY COST. Had I wanted a new one, I'd have bought a new one!!!!!!
    Please advise how best to evolve these issues.

    Agreed! This bug with the ringtone delay (№4.1) is really annoying

  • How do i fix a home button that keeps pressing itself

    My home button keeps pressing itself at random times without me even touching or holding the device. When I press the home button itself once in awhile it works, most of the time it doesn't. I've already done all the possible quick fixes suggested online (rotating the home button, pushing upwards with the charger in, resetting to factory settings, etc.) with no success. I've spoken with two apple geniuses and they both told me I'd need to replace the home button and display since they are "connected." A friend insists the apple geniuses are BSing me and that only the home button needs to be replaced. A simple search online shows the home button and display are not connected as one piece. I tried to be very frank with the second genius to get a straightforward real answer and he still insisted both would need to be replaced. Am I missing something? I'm very wary of trying to solve the problem myself since the genius kept reminding me if I were to attempt to fix it myself apple would not be able to help me at all after that if I should fail. I've seen tutorials online but there are many home button problems (not responsive at all, not clicking) that are common yet different from mine. Has anyone every had a similar problem? Am I missing something about the display and home button being connected somehow? Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated and hopefully sooner rather than later; since I'm tired of my voice control being activated and embarrassingly calling random people (especially ones I haven't spoke to in years!). Thanks in advance !

    Yes yes I understand the risks of apple not touching my phone after I've handled it myself. Apple is asking for an amount just shy of what I paid for the phone and the warranty is up so.. What I was really trying to ask for is advice from anyone who has opened an iPhone 5 themselves or is knowledgeable in the areas of iphone surgery so they could tell me a bit more about the home button and display being connected. I have no set plans to do this myself or to ask anyone else to as of now, I simply just want to understand the problem more since both geniuses were very vague. Although... I think I may have stepped into the wrong forum for this info as most seem to be valiant guardians of apple inc. Thanks much for what responses there were though.
    1. You didn't pay anywhere near $269 or $129 USD + tax for your iPhone 5.  If you bought it from a carrier and got a 'discount', that 'discount' was repaid as part of your contract.  It's 'deferred' payment, not really a 'discount'.  On average, you 'defer' about $450 when you buy an iPhone from a carrier.  So, take whatever you actually 'paid', and add $450 to it.  That's what the iPhone 5 actually cost you.
    2. The Home Button is an integral part of the display.  Even at an Apple Store, when the display is replaced so is the Home Button, as part of the 'kit'.
    3. Actually, it's more about being guardians for you, not Apple.  We're advising you to avoid something that will void your support from Apple.
    There are NO user serviceable parts for an iPhone.  Anything you've seen online is not official, unless it came from Appel directly.
