  • IPod touch 5 is charged. Won't turn on. Plugged into computer with two different cords. They both work with my iPad. My home button is also jammed. Please help!

I used my iPod yesterday, and it was charged. I put it on the floor, and took it into my room before I went to bed. I wanted to check what I missed while I wasn't using it, but it was "off". I put it on the charger, and it should've been charged up by morning. It still didn't turn on. I tried plugging it into my iMac, but nothing happens when I plugo in my iPod, but works with my iPad. My home button is also jammed, and I've tried to get it To work again, but I've had no luck.
Is there something I can do to turn my iPod on again?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
Ignore the reset and when it says place the iPod in recovery mode
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:
    For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    or
    http://joshuabailey1997.wordpress.com/2010/09/02/recboot-v1-3/
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    and
    RecBoot tip
RecBoot may have problems on 64X windows, then try:
Tenorshare ReiBoot – Enter & Exit iPhone, iPad, iPod Recovery Mode with a Single Click
    For MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    Installs blootware on PC too
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My Home button on my Ipod Touch is compleatly unresponsive, i dont think its a software issue it might be a hardware issue, does anyone have a solution??!

  • My home button is kinda jammed and has gone in? I need advice

So iv got my warranty for my iphone 4s but i do not want a replacemnet i want them to fix the button thats it? Is that possible well if your thinking why do i not want a replacement its because other then that everything is good on it?

They will not repair it you will be given a service replacement. Make sure everything is backed up before you take it for service.

  • Home button does not bring me to the home screen

I bought an iPod Touch 16GB in the beginning of june. It was a gift, and has not been in use until yesterday. The home button is totally unresponsive. Pushing the home button will not give any respons at all. Whenever I launch an app, I'm stuck there, until I shut the device off or reset it.
We felt this might be a softwareproblem. The software was upgraded to 3.1.2
The iPod is fully charged. I have done a restart and a reset several times. All of the content on the iPod (music was the only thing put into it, no apps) is removed. I have reset all settings and the software is restored several times using the restore button in iTunes.
I can do a "hard reset" (holding down the sleep/wake button and the home button at the same time for 10 sec will give me the expected respons). So it seems the home button hardware is working.
I still believe this is some sort of software error. I have done everything suggested by Apple to sort out the problem, but nada!
This is a brand new iPod, it has never been used and I obviously will take it to the store and I am sure it will be fixed or replaced.
BUT: Does anyone have any suggestions, in case there are something I should have tried out first?

One more thing before you take it back to the store - try a restore. You will do this from within iTunes. Since you really don't have app data to concern yourself with, do a "restore as new". This will wipe it clean and reinstall the firmware. You can then sync to add everything back to it.

  • IPod Touch 5 won't turn on and home button broken

    Hello,
So my iPod Touch 5 has been having accumulating issues lately. I've only experienced this issue once before about a year ago. My iPod Touch goes into a state where it can't be turned on by the power button. I've looked up solutions online several times. While the next best thing for me to do is to hold the power button along with the home button in order to restart it, my home button has been jammed for about a year now. I've been using assistive touch for a long time. The iPod does not respond to being charged nor being plugged into my computer. I've had to wait until the battery completely ran out before I could start charging and using it again. This issue has been occurring more and more often, and it's really hindering my ability to keep up with emails, games, and many school-related projects.
I've had this iPod Touch 5 for about 1.5 years now. The home button being jammed was an issue that occurred during the original 12-month warranty that came with buying the product back in the summer of 2013. I thought it was alright to just go with assistive touch for a while, but the jammed button became an issue that just became worse and worse until the button cannot even be pressed anymore. By this time, the 12-month warranty period was over. (This is the 2nd Apple product I've had power/sleep button issues with.)
I live in Chicago, and the cold weather is starting to set in. However, it was still over ~25 degrees F when this happened. I feel that this issue is not so much weather related because it has happened to me twice during comfortable summer weather.
I have a feeling that I may have to go in to the Apple Store in order to get help with this, but the potential repair or replacement fee is probably going to be terribly high. Any ways I can prepare for this visit before going in? Is there anything else I can do at home to get my iPod to live its life again?

My home button broke too after 13 months. The iPod's been lagging and slowing down a lot but for a $300 device, it shouldn't be breaking after a year. Just today it was working ok but then all of a sudden it's not turning on, its not responding to the power button, being charged, or being plugged into the computer, don't know what to do either

  • The home button on my ipod touch 4th genereation is jammed and i cant press it. What should i do?

The home button on my ipod touch 4th generation, that i have had for a year now, is jammed. When i go to click it to go to the home screen it doesnt push in. I am not sure how it happened because one moment i pressed it and it was fine and the next it somehow got jammed. I dont know whether i should just buy a new one or if i should send it in for repairs. The thing is that i dont want to send it in for repair and get it back to have the same thing keep happening to me. It has been starting to get slow and close out of apps randomly also. What should i do?

  • IPod Touch 4G Home Button is Jammed

Guys, where's the best place to bring an iPod Touch 4G for repair? It's no longer under warranty. I know I should bring to the authorized service center, but kinda hesitant to bring it to the apple service centers. word is, they don't repair stuff. they just replace the unit if it's under warranty. Is this true?
It seems to be a hardware problem. the home button is stuck. it's not just unresponsive, but it can't be pressed anymore. kinda like jammed. no clcking sound, can't be pressed, nor pop out, just lays flat. I tried the quick fixes on the net and apple forums like blowing in the ports to free up the dust, etc. nothing worked.
** still not using iOS 5, so Assistive Touch option is not available

  • IPod 4G Home Button Jammed?

My iPod Home Button recently got SUPER jammed into my iPod. It started out as not that bad, I could still push it, but I just had to use a little effort, but it's gotten so terrible that now I can't even push it. It's not like it's non-responsive because it works if I push it hard enough, but it's absolutely awful to try and push it in and I'm worried that it will keep getting more and more jammed and eventually not work. Is there any sort of way to fix this? I know my warranty on the iPod is up, even though I only got it in January. I don't have a ton of money to go get it fixed... If there's not a way to repair it, is there at least some sort of app or software I can download that will allow me to exit apps without using the home button? Thanks in advance...

  • My home button keeps jamming on my iphone 4; Any suggestons?

The Home button keeps jamming on my iphone 4. This leavesmy phone disabled. Any ideas why and has ths happened to anyone else?

Same here. Before going to the Apple store, I connected to my PC/iTunes. The home button was definitely not working before I connected. Immediately after I connected, as soon as the iPhone screen lit up, I tried the home button and it works again, even before syncing. So trying an iTunes connection as one solution.

  • IPod touch home button jammed?!

Hello, this morning I came to my ipod touch, only to find that the home button was jammed!! By jammed, i mean it is stuck a little too far into the home button socket, and takes an enormous amount of pressure for the iPod to register that it has been pushed. I am currently out of warranty, so should I try to find a "do-it-yourself-guide?" or should I take it in to Apple Store or Best Buy? Thanks so much and ill be looking foward to what you have to say!
