My Home Button makes a horrible 'cheap' sounding clicking noise.
I have only had the iphone4 for 4 months and i took it to the Genius bar and they checked it over and said that there isnt a problem because it isnt faulty. It feels like it is getting caught on the surrounding area but they wont replace it.
It sometimes doesnt recognise when i press it or it double presses sometimes.
But it seems like i have no where else to go as the genius bar said they wouldnt fix/replace it?
Any help anyone?
Sounds like your iPhone has a problem. You need to compare your iPhone to another iPhone 4 to see if there is a difference. A good place to do that is the Apple Store. If you notice a difference, you can make an appointment right there in the Apple Store and possibly see a Genius within an hour, or better yet make appointment before you go to Apple Store. Show the Genius the obvious difference in function and quality of the showroom model compared to your iPhone. Maybe the Genius will agree with you.

My 4th gen classic makes a continuous whirring and clicking noise and is not recognised on iTunes. Any ideas?
That could be a clear sign of a damaged hard disk. Can you try and force the iPod into Disk Mode and then connect it to iTunes so you can attempt a restore or even a low level reformat of the iPod's HD/file system.

Horrible buzzing and clicking noise from the fan - DV6 3046eo
Hello!
Two weeks ago the fan on my DV6 3046eo laptop began to make almost continueosly buzzing and clicking noise. My laptop is less than an year old (bought in December 2010) and such noise has never occurred before. I have done some "research" to find the reason, but without luck. I have read on Internet that the fan may be broken or loose. I am just using the web and listening the music. I have to admit I played some demanding games on the computer, like BBC2 and Dirt3. But the problem occured later. I can't imagine what will happen if I play games on my laptop now...
The fan seems to cool down the laptop, but it is like something is hitting it every third second or soand preventing it from running silently. The noise is strange and irritating because the frequency changes rapidly. Sometimes when I move the laptop or hit it a bit gently, the loud noise suddenly disappears and the normal continueosly noise takes over (I am ok with the latter one, though). After some while it appears again. The noise come and go. Reboot doesn't help much. I have also used an airspray can, but to no avail. I am thinking about getting the fan replaced by HP before the 1 year warranty runs out. I am not too comfortable to do so myself. What's the reason for this noise and what should I do?
Thanks in advance!

I am getting sick of this noise. I can't bring my laptop to school because it makes too much noise. Please help me. -
IPhone home button makes cracking noise
Recently I got my iPhone replaced at an apple store so I'm assuming the phone is refurbished. The problem is when I touch the home button it makes a light cracking noise. It doesn't make it when I press it down, only when I tap it. Will the problem persist? I don't want to have to go back to the Genius Bar as it involves quite a long journey.
I had the same problem. Read elsewhere that a tech at the Genius Bar fixed it in 1 or 2 minutes. So I thought about what they might have done, whiat was probably causing it, and fixed it myself:
Fixed mine this way: Turn the phone sideways and flick the home button with your finger over and over. (Hold your pointing finger with your thumb, then let go and let the fingernail *hit* the button.) Start lightly. Inrease the power of the flicks until the sound disappears. Rotate the phone when doing it if needed.
I think this worked because something was stuck behind the button, and flicking either crushed or dislodged the tiny piece of grit. -

My iPod Touch 4G's home button totally doesn't work, or click. What should I do?
Well, I'm pretty sure I got a dud iPod. My batttery life started out ok then went to heck. Shortly before my warranty ran out I sent it in to Apple to get it fixed, I'm pretty sure they didn't do anything. Then, shortly after my warranty ran out, my home button needed to be pushed at the very top to work. Then, It just stopped functioning at all. I replaced the screen, and I also replaced the home button, that didn't help. Anyone have any ideas to fix it? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Home button keeps thinking I'm double clicking
Every time I press the home button of my iPhone 5 to go back to the home screen, one of three things will happen. A third of the time, it will work properly, and go back to the home screen. A third of the time, it will think I've double-clicked and open the task switcher. And a third of the time, it will open the task switcher and then immediately jump back to the app I was just in. (Triple-clicking?) This is extremely irritating since it often takes several tries simply to get back to the home screen. What's going on? This has only happened since I upgraded to iOS 8, but I can't imagine it's a software issue. Is there a loose connection or something? Thanks

I've tested this along side me, my brother's, and my gf's IPhone 4 8GB, as well as my moms IPhone 4s 16GB, and my gf's IPod touch 1&2g 8GB, and all 6 of those seem to have a rather soft press sound.
Yeah I'm starting to think this retailer has been cutting some corners or something. Imagine it's kind of like the key press sound the iPhone makes when typing.
I think I came across a post similar when I google the issue but I think it was from years ago,and out of all the replies only one person said there's was the same. -

I haven't done a thing genuinely. It didn't stop working after an update or anything, it just started doing this.
Did you buy AppleCare? If not, you are out of warranty, so the best you can expect is to be eligible for an out of warranty replacement at your cost. Take it into an Apple Store and they can tell you if it qualifies or not.

okay...my ipod (with the click wheel) is definitely messed up. a few months ago i accidentally dropped it, and it started having a sad face and then the folder icon. i took it to an apple store and they restored it for me. it started working fine and everything was hunky-dory...until a few weeks ago it happened again, except i didn't drop it this time! (i think it just did it to mess with me or something)...so anyways...i've tried all the stuff i can think of: recharging, resets, disk mode...but nothing seems to work! and don't tell me to hook it up to my computer because everytime i do that and try to open itunes, it freezes!!! so i can't even restore it...and when i try to go through "my computer" and click on the usb port for the ipod, it freezes...so i'm starting to think all is lost...and a new ipod is starting to sound pretty good, but i'm hoping i can save my $300 and fix this one....can anyone help me???
