Try and calibrate Home Button
1. Open a stock application like Calendar, Weather or Youtube
2. Hold down the power button until the "slide to power off" control appears
3. As soon as you see it, press the Home button and keep it pressed until the red slider disappears and the app is forced quit to the Home menu

  • The Home Button on my iPod Touch 5 isn't working. How do I fix it?

Hi!  The Home Button on my iPod 5 isn't working.  I just got it like maybe two months ago.  I'm really mad about it to because it's brand new!  I'm not to the point where I'm going to totally rip my iPod apart and fix it.  And I know about the Assistive Touch or Acsessive Touch whatever it's called.  I'm using it right now but it's just not the same!  Please help!

I would take it to an apple retail store and have them look at it. It should definitely be under warranty

  • My iPod touch 5th generation isn't working. I plugged it in last night to charge and now its not turning on or responding to anything.

My iPod touch 5th generation isn't working. I plugged it in last night to charge and now its not turning on or responding to anything.  It used to do this thing where it would freeze when it was 100% charged and plugged in and I was using it.  I'd just unplug it, restart it (home button and top button) and then it would be fine.  That had happened like 5 hours prior to me plugging it in again and then it going totally blank.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My Center button on my Ipod 3rd generation is not working? What do i do it still goes up and down just doesnt select anything.

My Center button on my Ipod 3rd generation is not working? What do i do it still goes up and down just doesnt select anything.

What I had to was backup my device's data to either iCloud or iTunes. Once it was backed up I erased all of my settings as if my iPad just came out of the box. You set it up again and it will asked you to either start as new, back up from iTunes, or back up from ICloud. If you want to see if everything works you can set up as new, otherwise just pick the choice depending on where you backed up your information. Eventually it will restore all of your information and your iMessage and FaceTime should be working. It worked for me, if you'd like more/better instructions let me know!!

  • The home button on my iPod Touch 4G is barely working!

I have to press my home button and my sleep button about 10 times to get it to respond, does anyone have any idea why both buttons would act up? My ipod is nearly full, as in MBs away from it, would that have anything to do with the slow movement??

No, should not have any effect.
    Try the standard fixes:
    - Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

    Resolve communication issues
Check the hosts file or TCP/IP filtering, which might cause communication issues between iTunes, ports, and servers.
Common errors: 1004, 1013, 1638, 3014, 3194, or 3000-3999. These alerts refer to gs.apple.com, say "There was a problem downloading the software", or say the "device isn't eligible for the requested build".

  • My ipod touch 5th generation isn't working properly.

I was recently on an app called Cinemagraph and was logged in. After a while, I turned off my ipodtouch and then attempted to turn it on, but it didn't. I presssed the home button to activate Siri, and then appeared back on my lock screen. I typed in my password correctly more than 3 times, and it didn't let me in. I went to the camera icon on the lock screen and flipped that up. All of a sudden, all my photos were there even though my ipod was locked. I shut it off and used the home button to activate Siri and get to the lock screen, but it always apppears on the camera section. I decided to plug my ipodtouch in to back  it up, yet itunes can't seem to read it. Since I have a windows 7 computer, only autoplay from windows explorer popped up. Is it possible I'm currently being hacked or my ipod is broken? Please write back as soon as possible

  • My iPod 4th generation isn't working as it should be

Ok so, I've had my iPod 4th generation, version 6.1.6, 32GB, for about 2 years now, and it WAS completely fine.. But then it started getting slower and slower until some apps started crashing, I thought it was normal at first, thinking it was just because it was getting old, but by the start of 2014 my home button was starting to not work properly, more apps started crashing and it started getting so slow to the point that it was useless! then about a month or two after this year started, none of my apps worked e.g. If I went on a game it would only last about 5 mins then crash, or if I went on Facebook, Instagram, pic collage or any other type of app.. They would just crash In the matter of 5-10 mins. At first it was only the downloaded/purchased apps that did this.. But now even apps like camera, photos, maps, music and App Store crash to... And also my home button has completely stopped working, you can feel that the button doesn't press down anymore either.
so, I've  heard ways to fix the problem by looking at all the other questions asked,But all of them are by resetting the iPod; and still keep all the apps although the data in them will go, or switching it off and on and stuff like that... But I've tried everything! Apart from resetting the iPod like new because I don't want to lose any of the data in the apps (and not just stuff like dates and written information, but game progress, and stuff on the actual purchased app).. I don't mind about the home button being broken because I've got that round circle thing on the screen to use.. It's just the fact that I can't go on any of the apps anymore and that the iPod is completely useless.. Please someone help? Anyway to fix this?

    Did you restore from backup?
Next would be to restore to factory settings/new iPod since maybe you have some corruption in the backup

  • My IPod touch 5th generation isn't working

  • My iPod 5th generation was stolen. What can i do?

My iPod touch was stolen today. I went to the police and there is not much they can do. Is there any suggestions?

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
    - Apple will do nothing
Reporting a lost or stolen Apple product
    - iOS: How to find the serial number, IMEI, MEID, CDN, and ICCID number

  • My iPod(5th generation) isn't syncing to iTunes Library. How do I export songs and keep the names and coverart?

Having issues with the new itunes not showing song names or coverart. All it says is "Track 01, Track 02" and so on. How do I retrieve my music with these bits intact so I don't have to manually re-enter 232 song names?

  • My iPod 4th Generation is malfunctioning. What do I do?

My iPod 4th Generation isn't working. I was charging it last night and it was perfectly fine, although it was acting up earlier in the day.
My dad gave it to me and it was pretty hot and the screen was an immaculate white. Then, the screen was flashing. I tried to charge it for a while but it didn't do anything. I took the case off and it was lightly wet, due to my bag.
Next morning- The iPod screen was dark, as if it was dead. I tried to charge it for a bit, but I still got no results.
I can't turn it off, on or reset it because my home button is jammed, so I use accessibility. Nothing works when I press the Home button.
If anybody has a solution, I'd appreciate it. I have only had my iPod touch for a bit over 1 and a half years. I have become very close to it though and it was a good "friend" to me (so to say).
If you have any alternate solutions, I'd love to hear them.
    Thanks,
    - Aaron

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it says place the iPOd in recovery mode
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:
    For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    or
    http://joshuabailey1997.wordpress.com/2010/09/02/recboot-v1-3/
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    and
    RecBoot tip
RecBoot may have problems on 64X windows, then try:
Tenorshare ReiBoot – Enter & Exit iPhone, iPad, iPod Recovery Mode with a Single Click
    For MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    Installs blootware on PC too
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
