My home button does not work at all anymore. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. A few weeks ago, my home button on my 4th Generation iPod Touch stopped working. I soon found that I had to press it at a certain part of the button for it to work (by part I mean the left right top and bottom corners). Then for a little while it was fine, but yesterday I had the same problem, and now it's not working at all, and closing all my apps didn't help. What can help my problem?
(if it helps, I do have a habit of pressing the button three times whenever I open it or leave an app, so I may have worn it out somehow)

when you push it nothing happens you have to push it quite hard a couple of times before anything happens.

Hi! The Home Button on my iPod 5 isn't working. I just got it like maybe two months ago. I'm really mad about it to because it's brand new! I'm not to the point where I'm going to totally rip my iPod apart and fix it. And I know about the Assistive Touch or Acsessive Touch whatever it's called. I'm using it right now but it's just not the same! Please help!

I would take it to an apple retail store and have them look at it. It should definitely be under warranty

The home button on my iPod Touch is not working. Any app that I'm in, I can't get out of because when I press the home button, nothing happens. Is there a way to fix this?

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."

The home button on my ipod touch 4th generation, that i have had for a year now, is jammed. When i go to click it to go to the home screen it doesnt push in. I am not sure how it happened because one moment i pressed it and it was fine and the next it somehow got jammed. Since you are running iOS 5 you can always turn on Assistive Touch as well, which adds a Home button to the iPod's actual touch screen. Head to Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Assistive Touch to turn it on.
