My home page (mymsn) is missing 1/2 of my stuff like my stocks, my movies, emails, my sports teams. Whats up?
fire fox is my browser. mymsn is my home page. I downloaded 4.0 and half my stuff is gone. Can I go back to 3. whatever or is there a fix? i'm not that computer savy.
i thank u for the response but don;t see how it relates to my findings.
however i installed a clean ff 19, no addons, on a virtual box vm running win 2012 server. with google search page it was using ~0.1% of cpu (checked it using process explorer). the issue seems a lot less than my initial findings. this leads me to conclude that some of the plugins may be causing this. i can't think of a reasonable way to see which is the culprit, unless is start unistalling plugins and i do not want to do that.
i think that also plugins may be allowed to run once in a while, basically having the same run profile that i sugested initially. i would not trust the plugins much and would have a more restrictive policy on them.
ps: one can say it's not ff doing tha damage, it's the plugins. even if true the user will blame ff for any misbehavings.

On the home page in Facebook, on the bottom of the left hand corner there is supposed to be a friends on chat window that shows green dots and pictures of my friends that are on chat. Mine is no longer there and i was hoping that you can help me in finding it and putting it back.
Thank you
Patricia SutcliffeHi Patricia, the theory behind clearing cookies is that they may include obsolete or corrupted information. There's no way to know which one poses the problem, so it's usually best to clear them all. Facebook will set new cookies when you log back into the site.
Regarding the chat windows, I don't why the two accounts would work differently. Perhaps it is a setting within Facebook? -
I want 4.0 to look like 3.6 with large separate icons for last page, next page, reread current page and go to home page, in lieu of the little icons to the right of the
default navigation toolbar. I tried setting up a separate toolbar but it never reappeared. There should be a way to just restore 3.6 look and feel. Otherwise I will go back to 3.6.You can make Firefox 4 look and behave more like Firefox 3.6, for details see http://www.computertechtips.net/64/make-firefox-4-look-like-ff-3-6

My home page on my home PC has weather, time, date and news and my home page on my work PC only has Google and search menu.
Are the urls the same?
You can have any page you want as your home page.
* drag the favicon at the location bar to the home page button, see

If they are both at Google, at home you probably have more time to play with Firefox and installed some Google applications. Others may not be actually installed. You are probably logged into Google like for GMail at home.
When you bring up a Google application then you will see that application at
the top of your Google page. -
I shut off my computer and the next day replaced the batteries in my keyboard after getting the low battery message. After replacing them and turning the keyboard on and off the green LED was blinking which meant it was in discovery mode. The problem is I can't login to my computer because I need to type in a password. But I can't use the keyboard so I can't use my mouse to find the device because I can't login. The aluminum ball trick did not work and I did recheck the battery life and they are in the right way. How do I fix this?

Why does my home page tab no longer have the new tab cross in firefox 5
I have just updated firefox from 4.6 to 5.o, but when I load it the new tab cross on my home page tab is missing. I can put one in by Ctrl/T, but would prefer to use the cross.
If the menu bar is hidden then press the F10 key or hold down the Alt key, that should make the menu bar appear.
* https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Menu+bar+is+missing
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
* If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
* If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
* If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the <u>"Restore Default Set"</u> button to restore the default toolbar set up.

My Firefox home page doesn't look the same since I installed and then uninstalled "Inbox".
My home page used to show the Firefox logo (fox encirling the globe) with a Google search bar below. Now I just have the logo and a searchbar, but the search bar doesn't work. I enter a keyord, hit enter and nothing happens.
The only change I made was I inadvertently installed (and then uninstalled) "Inbox".
I loved my old standard, plain Firefox home page and I miss it terribly. Please help. You can try to delete the file chromeappsstore.sqlite in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Did anyone else have this isse with Verizon's home page?
I was about to post this as an issue that is still going on but now it has stopped. I was just using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer for a while because on IE, Verizon's home page kept automatically starting up "signin.verizon.com" with the spinning circle when I never signed in to begin with; and then it switch back to the home page. It just kept alternating back and forth like that. I noticed this issue last night and then this morning, it just stopped.
I'm guessing this was an issue with Verizon's server?I'm not sure that this is the exact problem you're experiencing, but you might read through this thread:
http://forums.verizon.com/t5/Off-Topic-Board/Stay-signed-in-to-forum/m-p/698840#M1354
It seems to me the bottom line is the forum is still not 100% compatible with IE 11. The display of the individual forum home pages is somewhat distored and in box where you type a post (where I'm typing now) the icons on the tool bar, spell check, etc, are missing.
But I use IE11 as my primary browser and as described in that other thread, I found a shortcut that will at least open the forum site and sign me in reliably and that shortcut continues to function. -
Starting a few weeks ago every time I load my home page in Firefox (v20) the search bar, next to the right side of the address bar, comes up what I call blank. It's just a small blank sheet of paper with the upper corner turned down. What should be in that search box is the icon and word "Google". When the icon and the word Google doesn't load I can't type any web address in the address bar and change to that web site. Also, when I bring down the menu of previous web addresses from the address bar and click (highlight) one of them nothing happens either. I have tried about everything I can find on this or that I can think of and so far nothing has worked. Once in a while I might get the Google icon & word to come up like it's supposed to in the search bar but it won't stay. It might last the rest of a given evening but the next time I bring up my home page it's gone. I really NEED help on this.
Thanks for any help or suggestions for this problem.Try to use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.
Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).
If you do not keep changes after a restart then see:

both services OracleTNSListner and OracleServiceXE are started. ...as you said, my .ora files are not right due to the failed install.
anything in the registry from instant client that could be killing our install? the services start and then in the "configuring database" section, it just hangs - no CPU, no disk - must be a network hang.... ...then the install finishes (doesn't say sucess or failure)...
thanks!

Now that the Bt Yahoo login has now changed to BT.com I have lost access to my old BT Yahoo home page.
This was a useful home page which was customisable with feeds etc.
Now it just re-directs to the BT.com portal home page instead.
Is there any way I can still get back to my old home page as I had a lot of useful stuff on there.
Yesterday I could log in via Yahoo but today that's been redirected too.
Does this mean that all BT Yahoo people will be booted off Yahoo completely...?Use
Access your old Yahoo Notepad - e-mail and calendar
Some Yahoo stuff will be moved across, the rest will be deleted.
If you still want Yahoo, they you will have to create a new Yahoo normal account.

How do I set new tabs to open home page
How do I set tabs to open my home page instead of a blank page?

Every time Firefox openedHello Justin.
You can simply middle-click the home button to open the home page in a new tab, or you can install one of the many extensions that let you tweak what the new tab opens. [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1122 Tab Mix Plus] and [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/777/ New Tab Homepage] are two of them, although they have different focuses.
I hope this helps. -
On my home page there is a heading-Hotmail. Under that the last 8 or so emails were listed. The heading remains, the emails are gone and the+ in a box is now a -. So I can't add the emails.
Firefox 4 has made things faster, but it's taken away stuff tooHi krjc,
You should take a look at the Knowledge Base article [[How to set the home page]]. Your homepage might have been changed by a particular site. Sites like MSN, Yahoo, etc have been know to ask to become your homepage.
There are steps in that article to reset your homepage preferences to default. I would try that first to clear out any strangeness. If that works, you can try setting your homepage again to your personal preference.
If that doesn't work you should look at the article [[Preferences are not saved]].
Finally, your issue may be because you've been hit with some [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Is%20my%20Firefox%20problem%20a%20result%20of%20malware?s=malware&r=0&e=sph&as=s#w_how-do-i-get-rid-of-malware Malware].
Hopefully this helps!
