When that's happened to me, here's what's worked for me: click not in the center of the Home Button, but all around the circumference of the Home Button. Sometimes there's only one "sweet spot" where it will work. When you find that spot, hit it over and over, and it seems to free up whatever was not working inside, and then the Home Button works as if new.
It may recur at a later time, inw hich case, try this fix again.
Or, if it's too frustrating, DON'T try to repair it. Take it in to the nearest Apple Store (if one is near enough), and show it to them while it's not working correctly. Chances are they'll instantly replace it for you - as long as it's not working properly when they examine it.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If basic troubleshooting fails to resolve the issue, the next step is to take the device to Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider for evaluation.
Apple does not repair devices.
iDevices are not user servicable.
Any attempt by a 3rd party to repair the device will void the warranty and all rights to support from Apple and these forums. -

If a restore did not fix it, you have a hardware issue--possible bad wi-fi radio.

I reset all setting including all data , so it shows that it will take 2hr, but now its almost i day only Apple logo is visible in screen , please help me what shloud i do, Actuly i want to remove all data , there is no virus no problem , just want to data, but untill now its not fix yetOhhh!
All you have to do is to put your iPhone into DFU Mode
Just simply connect your iPhone to iTunes, hold the power button + home button for 10 seconds, later by holding the home screen button continuously (Without leaving it) until it appears to be in recovery mode in iTunes.
You now hit the restore button in iTunes. It will download the latest version of iTunes, which might take a while.
After that, it will install the iOS (51.1) which might take 7-10 min. And you're good to go!

I got my iPod touch 4G for almost 4 months. Apparently I got one year of warranty from Apple. My iPod touch home button do not respond very well. I keep pressing it a lots of times but this don't resolve anything. I live in Puerto Rico and when I was doing the waranty process in the Apple.com, when I put my adress, it said to me that the type of service that I'm trying to do, doesn't work in my location. This is the first time that I try to do this and I don't know what to do. This is not my first iPod, and everytime I bought one, thay say that I got one year of warranty with Apple.
