My home was burglarized, ipod touch stolen can it be blocked shut down....anything?

is thier any way my ipod- touch can be shut down, blocked........ anything done so these SOB cant get into personal info?

No.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.
- Apple will do nothing without a court order

  • IPod Touch 2.0.1 Reboots and shuts down randomly

I have an 8gb iPod touch on the 2.0.1(5b108) firmware that now reboots and shuts down randomly while just sitting idle. I've tried restoring and resetting and it still does this. In terms of the shutting down randomly it seems like my hold button is sticking or broken, but I can't explain the random restarting. This has only been happening since I updated to 2.0.1. Any advice?

As posted before as m9performance but the forum would not let me logo on as that.
This has been going on for some time now Apple was to fix this problem with the 2.0 update absolute rubbish it is now worse that before just turning it self off and resetting it self e.g. tonight from 17-30h to 18-45h it did this 3 soddin times.
Where as before it would be about once every 3 weeks or monthly it is about time Apple started to honour their customers with a product that works e.g. it dose what it says on the box and plays music until the customer tells it not to.
Come on Apple fix up and fix your product lots of people have mp3 players with out the touch problems like I have said before never mind bringing out a new bigger one 32G get the old ones working first. At the end of the day it is down to YOU Apple and not for the users to have to keep posting the same problems hoping that you as a company decide to fix your mistakes and eventually look after your customers.

  • My iPod touch automatically I get the message "Shut down" red

I hope you can solve this problem. Often an application I'm using the iPod and automatically receive an option to "Off" (red) or try to turn it off manually is not an option but after several attempts, and frequently also automatically locks. What should I do?

Try the standard fixes to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset. nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

    1. black screen with apple logo for about 10 secondes
    2. turn off
    (back to 1)
    thanks for helping

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • It's amazing how just after my garantee on my Ipod touch ran out, now it keeps shutting down or locking on me. I have restored it several times. Any ideas anyone?

It is amazing how just as the warranty on my Ipod touch runs out, it has started to shut down on me or freezes. Any ideas anyone?

If you restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod and still have the problem then you likely have an hardware problem and the Genius Bar is a good option.

  • Can not access home network via ipod touch, password entered  not accepted

Can not access home network via ipod touch, password entered not accepted
Trying to help my son set up his ipod touch to connect to the network and the password I entered is not accepted.
    1. Which password is required? I entered the password I use for logging into my router
    2. The home network is recognized, when selected it requires a password to be entered, but I am just not sure what password it is looking for to connect.
I have not been able to find any information on this subject

jersey0904, Welcome to the discussion area!
You need to enter the wireless encryption password... not the administrative password for the router.

  • All credit was lost when i reset my ipod touch i can i get it back

all credit was lost from my account when i reset my ipod touch how can i get it back

Resetting your ipod would have no effect on your balance.
The balance is on the account, not the device.
Check your purchase history to see if something was purchased.
Check you computer and see if the balance is there.

  • While performing a system update, I shut down my iPod touch. Can the pictures on my iPod be recovered if my iPod was not backed up?

While performing a system update, I shut down my iPod touch. Can the pictures on my iPod be recovered if my iPod was not backed up?
iPod is fourth generation, the system update was a little over half complete.
I want to get the pictures off the iPod so that I can keep them. Is there any way to do this?

    Maybe,
    - if when you connect the iPod to your computer you can make a backup? If yes yo can restore from that backup
iOS: How to back up and restore your content
    - Go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and see if there is a backup dated when you started the update. the first stiep of an update is iTunes making a backup.
    - If you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer

  • I changed the channel on my Belkin Wireless router now my ipod touch 1G can't find my wifi network?

A few hours ago I changed the channel on my Belkin Wireless router for the 1st time. It was either on auto, or channel 6 before, i'm not sure, but I changed it to 11, and now my ipod touch 1G can't find my wifi network. I tried changing it to 6, but nothing, and I also can't go back to auto. Can someone please help. I've already searched for the network, and it says "Cant find network". I've also restarted my router. I also added the MAC address, still nothing. Other than those things, I havent touched anything else. My ipod could connect before just find. My Wifi is not disabled, and it's not on private. I can connect with other wifi's fine. And I can connect to other networks with my ipod, I also held down the button on top, and the home button for 10 seconds to restart and nothing. I also reset my network settings. Please help!

Find the documentation for your router and look up "Reset to Factory Defaults."  This process will put the router back to the way it was when you bought it.

  • Unable to home share with iPod Touch (4th Gen) and iPad 2

Since I have upgraded to iTunes 11 I am unable to home share my HD movies to both my iPod Touch (4th Gen) and my iPad 2
I was able to home share all my HD movies before iTunes 11.
I know that the iPad 2 and 4th Gen iPod Touch can only support 720p, but by streaming/home sharing that was the work around.
But again, once I upgraded to iTunes 11... when I go on my iPad or iPod Touch I can no longer see them in my shared library.
Here is the crazy part though... if I go downstairs and get on my 2nd gen AppleTV... I can see all my movies in my shared library.
DO YOU THINK IT IS iOS 6.0.1 ????

There are no setting on the iPod. Unlike the iPad wich morrors the iPad display, TV out on an iPod only displays TV out on apps that support TV out. The Video app is one such app.
    Is that you problem?
    Otherwise:
    Try:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

  • Ipod Touch Stolen - Called Apple... is what they told me true?

Yesterday I unfortunately had my Ipod Touch stolen after it had fallen out of my purse. Whoever took it had the nerve to leave the case on the curb. Anyway, I filed a police report, and then today I called Apple. It was a woman with a really thick accent who kept talking over me and seemed to try to get me off of the phone as soon as possible. Anyway, she took down my serial number and created a case, and said she would have it flagged as stolen. She said if someone else were now to try to register that ipod, that it would not allow them to. Is that really true? The only reason I ask this is because the woman did not sound like she knew what she was talking about and was really rushing me off of the call. Thanks!

Thanks for the help folks. That last link does indeed answer my question. I called Apple support again today and got someone from the US, and he told me what the original rep told me was untrue (call center in the Philippines). I hope one day Apple can come up with something better than "motion-based" theft detection to help deter thieves. Yes, it could just be as simple as making sure my iPod doesn't fall out of my purse, but I am disgusted with the idea that Apple can only benefit from me losing anything I buy from them. It's baffling that none of their eggheads can come up with a deterrent that doesn't break privacy laws. Oh well, guess this was just in time for the 3Gs to come out. 64GB, here I come...and this time I am going to put all sorts of protections on my iPod--not that any of them will prevent someone from taking it. Thanks again!

  • IPod Touch Stolen, HELP!

So I recently got my iPod Touch stolen at school today and I was wondering if Apple could help me get it back or replace it with a new one.
    Can they do that?

My Touch was swiped from my messenger bag at The Grove in L.A this past weekend.... when I was going to the Apple Store(!) I understand that Apple doesn't want to take on the responsibility of tracking stolen property, but I think they could easily add a link to iTunes or the apple.com site to let original owners report iPods as stolen so as to lock the criminals out of being able to use them. If that was a policy, it wouldn't be worth the risk to steal them since no one would want to buy one. The only reason I can think of that Apple might not do this is that then they wouldn't get to sell replacement iPods to the people who were ripped off. I'd like to hope I don't need to be that cynical, though.
