There is no application called "Adobe" - you are either working with Adobe Acrobat or the free Adobe Reader. Open up the preferences for the application (Edit>Preferences), then go to the "General" category and modify the settings for "Scale for screen resolution". You will have to restart the application after you do that. Does that fix your problems?

  • When opening Photoshop CS2, the Toolbar & Palettes are small and hard to read. Can this be fixed?

When I open Photoshop CS2, the Toolbar and Palettes are quite small and hard to read. Can I correct this and if yes, how?

You can also change the UI Font size in photoshop cs2 under Edit>Preferences>General, but that
just makes some of text bigger and not any of the icons.

  • Icons and toolbar text is way too small and hard to read (kind of fuzzy)

The toolbars (menu bars) at the top of the screen have letters and icons and symbols that are way too small to read. Also the background color options are limited. Light black on grey is hard to read. I have tried customizing all that I can. There used to be a thing in control panel called display, and we could pick all sorts of fonts and colors for all those toolbar strips. Where did that go? I am VERY FRUSTRATED!!

I've tried those, and have just decided to go back to 3.6. Firefox just seems to have too much input lately trying to tweak and adjust. Meanwhile, the later versions just end up looking worse and worse with each iteration. Icons too small, monochromatic tool bar, making icons harder to distinguish, and, worst of all, frequent crashes.
Perhaps some of these problems are because I'm using XP, but I've noticed many if not all of the appearance deficiencies with my laptop running Win7. Probably the most annoying thing about later versions, though, is the inability to set memory time for history. This alone is a deal breaker for me, and ultimately, as IE has gotten better, I may just go back there.

  • Dreamweaver user interface controls appear small and hard-to-read on high-density displays.

I have 3840x2160, 24" display and many of the user interface controls are small, hard to read and in some cases are cut off.
I see this issue existed with Photoshop and Adobe introduced a "Introducing scale the UI 200% for high-density displays for Windows" under "Experimental Features"
Photoshop: Introducing scale the UI 200% for high-density displays for Windows
However I don't see this option available in Dreamweaver? Is there another work around?

Wow, 4K resolution within a 24" space. You need a 200% increase in UI size just to work, I would think. Can you post a screenshot of the issue? I would like to see that. ;-)
With the changes the Dw team have made to the UI over the last few releases, and with the latest Workspaces, it almost feels like 720p is the main focus, or like the only Dw users that matter are on small Macbooks, with very limited screen real estate. I can still work on my laptop when I'm out of the office (17" at 1920x1080 on Windows 8.1), but the icons and controls are pretty small. Even with the added screen real estate, and the fact that the UI is still intact, I'd hate to have to use it for extended periods.
    I voted as well.

  • Just updated to FF 8.0.1 from FF 6.0.2, everything is smaller and harder to read! What did Mozilla do, and is there a way to get the spacing and fonts/font_sizes from ver 6.0.2 back into FF8?

I can zoom-in, but that makes the fonts look bad and zooms in too much w/ just 1 level zooming. I will be going back to FF7 or FF6 if I can't get this fixed.

You know I think you are right about font sizes. I rebooted and this morning I can't tell the difference in my BMP screen dump images I took.
But I swear there is still something different visually in FF8 that is making it harder to look at then 6. Just not sure what that is... it sorta feels like I am looking at a CRT at 60 Hz refresh rate, but I am using an LCD monitor. I sure hope my eyes just didn't suddenly degrade last night :)

  • Text is so small and hard to read...should it really be like this?

I have the 27 in screen- and must be the only person alive who is hating it.
WHY is all the text so small now? One would think on a large screen it would be BIGGER not smaller?
I came from a 14 in Dell monitor and everything was SO MUCH easier to read on there compared to teh 27 in screen.
I realize I can zoom in on pages in safari, but I have to do that for each page. (pain in the butt).
The text/words/buttons in photoshop are small as well, as in all my software I'm using.
Please someone tell me there is a remedy to this so that I can operate my programs without having to use a binocular at the computer desk. I can't figure out why everything is so freaking small on a Ginormous screen.

I think the short answer as to "why?" would be the monitor has a higher pixel density. You're probably running the monitor at its maximum native resolution (2560 x 1440). You could try one of its other resolutions (1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720) but I don't think you'll be any happier with those either.
Didn't you take a look at the monitor (or the 27" imac) in a local apple store before deciding to buy it?

  • HT2513 ICal works great but the fonts are small and hard to read unlike Outlook. Any suggestions?

I have a MacPro and use ICal. I loke OUtlook because I can see it better and it is frankly more pleaseng to the eye. And the fonts are large enough. Of course, other than than Outlook is a nightmare on the lack of syncing etc...
I am resigned to using ICal but is there a way to change it's look? Or an emulation program that will use ICal but present it better on the screen?

Many of your points are totally legitimate.

  • My verizon email with on firefox has very small letters, hard to read. HELP

My email messages are coming in in small letters and are hard to read. I am on verizon.
this does not occur when I use internet explorer.
Please tell me what to do so the letters will be bigger and I can then read the messages.

Hi jeanbrasel, sorry you are having problems. I assume your problem is with the desktop version of Firefox. In that case try this.
Click the Firefox button in the upper left-hand corner. Click Options, then click the Content tab. Check the Fonts & Colors section to make sure that the default size is acceptable. If that is acceptable, then click the Advanced button and uncheck the box next to "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above". Then select a minimum size, such as 12. Here is a screenshot to help you. If that doesn't fix it, reply back!

  • Yahoo e-mail page is distorted and hard to read (once in a while its OK) - box does not extend to the right side making e-mail info hard to read. Info displayed in the reading panel is OK.

When I open the Yahoo email page, the box does not extend across the screen and the script is distorted making it hard to read the source, subject etc. The reading panel info reads OK. All other pages of Yahoo are not distorted.

  • Occassionally when I visit a website, the menu bar becomes gray and hard to read, being restored only bt minimizing and restore.

Occasionally I have noticed that the menu bar appears a hard to read gray. This seems to occur after a visit to accuweaher.com.. It is reproducible even though both the foreground and background menu bars for the desktop are set to black.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
