My homepage is huge!
hi everyone!
so today i went to use use my phone and unlock the home page and i couldnt. Everything is enlarged, it almost like when you blow up a webpage but i cant move anything...my screen is stuck! Can anyone help?!?!
The "Zoom" accessibility feature is turned on. Double-tap using three fingers to un-zoom, and then go to Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> Zoom and tap the Zoom On/Off switch.
If you have trouble with that. connect to iTunes and click the "Configure Universal Access" button in the Summary pane and turn off Zoom there.

When I set the view to Zoom Font only, my email page looks normal, but facebook is off. I can't seem to get the settings back to where they were before I tried taking that screen shot. I have tried restarting the computer, but that doesn't help. Am I just screwed?
Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems: <b>View > Zoom > Reset</b> (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)

About:config doesn't open the configuration window
I updated to version 3.x and the text on my homepage was huge. I tried to enter about:config as suggested, but, no configurations window. It just opens a window that says "config" at the top. about:config works in all previous versions but when I try it in the upgraded version the window won't open

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit") -
Web galleries: how to get back to Homepage quickly?
I have several Aperture web galleries on my .Mac homepage. I like the look but the huge downside is that when someone gets to the last page, e.g. number 15, to get back to my homepage they have to either go back in their browser 15 times or re-enter my homepage address. Is there a way for them to get back to my homepage (which is my site menu) in one click?
I am also thinking of making my own website with iWeb. Would I have the same problem with it?
Johnhere are a couple threads that i think will help with your question ...

http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3091989&
i personally have edited my templates to include a couple of "returns" from the large images ... also if you click the "tidy photography" image it will (in most cases) send you back to the previous menu (on the older pages it goes to my homepage - still havent fixed this) -
This QT pro is getting to me too! After JUST getting over the $29.99 thing, I find, finding my way and ease of use degraded. Darn you have to be a rocket scientist to ge things done now! What happened to Apple for dummies? Mac "easiest to use"? Anyway, When expoting or sharing my .mov's to idisc or Homepage they stop 4/5th the way through and halt, yet running for ever! The first two times I published them with (share) they completed but only gave 3/4 or so of the movie when visiting the page. So I took the (export) route and the same thing happened. Now funny but I (idisced) them again and let them run forever and they did finally make it. but I know I will have trouble with this again! Anyone else with this problem ? or any answers Thanks Tom
Movie files are huge. When you use the "Share" feature your file may need to be converted (another export) and then uploaded to your iDisk Movies folder.
Better is to choose Export and use the "presets" or advanced settings (found under the Options button). Save this new file to your Desktop.
Mount you remote iDisk and open the "Movies" folder. Drag your new file into it and wait for the file to upload. Once the dialog window closes you'll know you file has successfully made it to your iDisk.
You can "test" the file by opening it in a browser window. The address to the file uses this syntax:
http://homepage.mac.com/username/.Movies/movie.mov
Notice the period and capital M in Movies. Replace username with your .Mac account name. -
What is the best way to share a screencapture video on a homepage?
Hi guys.
I made a screencapture video for my new website.
Here is the video
http://www.totalfitnessmanagement.com/TutorialScreencaptureVideos/TFMPromoMovie.mov
Its 73.9 MB.
It is currently a seperate page opening from a link on the homepage.
I made it in FCP and rendered it as a quicktime movie with no conversion to a smaller download format etc.
The thing is it takes way to long to load.
I'm not sure if this is the best forum for this question but can anyone tell me what is the quickest way to show visitors this movie without losing to much quality?Video Streaming pros & cons of various file types and how to embed player code into pages.
http://www.mediacollege.com/video/streaming/
79 MB is huge. Web files should be well under that.
Option #2, upload MOV file to http://YouTube.com. Their software will convert & compress to web friendly FLV, carry bandwidth for you and stream from their super fast dedicated streaming servers. Simply paste their embed code into your page and you're done.

No Homepage Support!!!!
This is terrible.
After installing iLife 06 I can't get nice streamlined access to my Homepage themed web site on .Mac!!!!!
Yeah I can manually do all the copying etc... but why Oh why make me use iWeb and it's resultant big fat huge pages which chew up my disk space!!!
RIP OFF...
Thanks Apple....HERE'S A WORK-AROUND! (If this has been posted by anyone else, forgive my duplicating... but I didn't see it already.)
For all of us frustrated .Mac users, who use Homepage and have found that iLife '06 does not support us (thanks, Apple... we trust you'll remedy this), here is what I've done to update my Homepages:
• Create a new folder in your iDisk>Pictures Folder,
• Drag all the photos you wish to share into that folder,
•->Some won't copy if the original file names were the same (i.e. PICT0001.jpg), so once the first "PICT0001.jpg" is uploaded, and a message comes up that a certain picture cannot be uploaded because that name already exists, then simply rename the first "PICT0001.jpg" to something else and then re-drag/drop the next.
• Go to Homepage and Add Page
• Select Photo Template of choice and then it will ask you to select the desired folder of photos, where you may then select the folder of photos that you just created.
• You will need to type in all the captions in the online editor.
• You will lose your "counter" numbers, because this is a new page.
IF ANYONE HAS FURTHER IDEAS related to this work-around, even how to edit a current Homepage page (to keep the counter, etc.), please feel free to respond!!

How can I accelecate the load of the public homepage?
Hi all,
we have implemented several portal projects. But all the time we
not able to solve one problem. How can I speed up the initial
load of the public homepage.
We have implemented distributed environment (e.g. app server and
database on different machines). We have applied all the
patches. We are working with mutiple cpus and a huge amount of
main memory. We have read the manuals about apache tuning.
But we have still a performance problem with the public homepage
of a portal installation. A workaround is a static html page at
first. But we don't like it.
Any ideas are very appreciated.
Thanks,

Won't my swf become unbearably huge?
var chicken: timeline based navigation = frame labels;
var egg: actionscript = dynamically loaded buttons;
First of all Props to Chris Georgenes, and Dan Mode for
answering a question I had before. It made things embarrassingly
easy. Chris I bought the book.
Okay hopefully I can explain this question clearly enough as
to avoid exposing myself as the red-faced flash newbie that I am
Say I’m setting up a website and I have completed the
homepage. The navigation bar uses movieclips for buttons. What I
want to do is have the whole page animate each time someone clicks
a button. (meaning the buttons reposition, the main info window
does a cool fade then dynamically loads some text). Then returning
to normal (hm) when appropriate.
The first example I can find is this
http://www.guccigroup.com/
(although not the best example its' hmpage transitions similar to
how I want)
I am reluctant to make separate swf’s because I want to
avoid the look of an html site loading a new page each time a
button is clicked. However if I just use frame labels won’t
my swf become unbearably huge? Can I use a “load vars
object” on the frame labels to load the text files?
or………should I go through the pain of
writing the script for each button (movieclip) up, over, and
visited states. And then link the swf’s so they have a smooth
transition. In some way that it appears you have never left the
homepage?
I realize there are about a million answers to this question
what I’m looking for is a general theory?
Thus far all the tutorials I have found are extremely vague
when it comes to the point of actually putting all the elements of
a webpage togetherStart Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the files sessionstore.js [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
* Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.<br />
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

My Firefox homepage used to appear as a one page size when I opened the homepage. One day I signed onto the computer and the homepage size and layout had changed to a '''huge large print version that does not even fit on my whole computer screen.''' I have to scroll from side to side to see one end of the open page to the other. It is terrible and unusable. The font size changed from this to a 60 font size. I did not choose this change and do not know how to undo this problem. Please help.
Hi,
Please try pressing '''Ctrl''' + '''0''' (zero) on the keyboard. Alternatively '''View''' ('''Alt''' + '''V''') > '''Zoom''' > '''Reset'''.

When I log on to Mozilla, my homepage is Yahoo, but next to the yahoo tab on the left is a small tab with the paypal logo, will this harm anything, and can it be stopped?
You may have "pinned the tab". Right click on it and unpin the tab to make it go away.

Thanks.Hi Vetsrini,
We're on 10.1.3.4.1 and siebel 8.1.1.3 and when trying to open a report from within siebel in the output format EXCEL (selected from the parameter applet), it just opens the document in the browser.
Is there a way to get it to open directly in Excel? I guess the reason is the file extension*.EXCEL, how could we get the extension to be in excel format (xls)?
We don't want our users to have to do this themself.

Within Internet Explorer you can click on a little arrow next to the homepage icon and a dropdown appears with a list of your homepages (I have 5). So if I want to quickly check my facebook or e-mail I can click on it and then on whichever I want to visit (both are homepages). It is much quicker than using bookmarks/typing it in and I don't like the 'permanent tab' feature as I don't want them always open. Does this feature already exist?
You can create a folder with the home pages by using "Bookmark All Tabs" to open a specific page.
You can place that folder on the bookmarks toolbar or use the Bookmarks menu button that you can find in the toolbar palette to get access to that folder easily.
* Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
* "Bookmark All Tabs" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of a tab on the tab bar.
* "Bookmark This Page" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of that browser page.
