I have an HP 8 tablet that locked once I turned it off. When I powered it on, I usually slide it to unlock, but not this time. How do I get to the unlock screen so I can put in my password?

Are you entering the passsword but the Join buttin is still inactive? Is so that means that you need mor charactors in the password.

If a reset (the method Kevin refers to) doesn't work, you'll probably need to try putting the iPod into recovery mode and restoring it:

I did the same thing and my phone has been frozen for the past half hour. I am ****** as something so simple has now totally screwed up my phone. I have powered it off, plugged it into itunes to restore, and nothing works.

You are following the instructions half-way down that HT5312 page i.e. you've gone to https://appleid.apple.com/ and clicked 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and logged into your account, then clicked on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side is there an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address ? The reset link will only show if you have a rescue email address
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.

updates are stupid. The letest apple itunes update will not let you keep your old password.
Probably pertains to those of us who have kept same password for apple id since inception. New rules make you do all sorts of stupid characters instead of keeping it simple.

sam it sounds like ur password has a low level of security and new update wants to to make it stronger
when it askes to to make ur password just put ur old one back in but replace some letters with caps and numbers
i got them same thing when i updated mine to the new version

What do you mean 'my iPad will not let me change my security passwords' ? You are following the instructions on the HT5312 page that you postedi.e. if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) on your account then steps 1 to 5 half-way down that page should give you a reset link.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset (these are user-to-user forums).

When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use

My CD/DVD drive will not let me put in CDs period, and there is no CD currently in the slot. How do I fix this?

When I try to burn CDs or insert CDs into my iMac, the slot/drive will not let me enter a CD. Just yesterday it was working, now it isn't. I have tried restarting the computer, turning it off, waiting a while, holding down the eject, etc. There is no CD currently in the drive either.

1) Shut down
2) Wait until iMac has completely powered off
3) Hold down mouse button
4) Power on iMac and continue to hold down mouse button
5) Listen for sound of drive cycling itself (makes the sound of ejecting a disk)
6) Let mouse button go
7) Log in as normal

Yes you can contact Apple UK at daytime, for free, in the Chat.
Just go to the iPad page, then press buy now in the upper right corner, and then in the upper right corner you will see the phone number, and next to it,(only at daytime) you will see a button, writing something like contact else, I don't really know what is the exact label, but it works.
