Im in a big trouble , I wrote a document in ms word and attached 1 picture to it and when I printed It only took out the picture and not the text , I have Dell inspiron n4010 ! help

Which Word are you using ? Please try:
(a) In Word 2007 and 2010, click on Office Button > Word Options > Display > check the boxes for "Print drawings created in Word" and "Print background colors and images" > Advanced > scroll down to the "Show document content" section, check the boxes for "Show background colors and images in Print Layout view" and "Show drawings and text boxes on screen", and uncheck the "Show picture placeholders" box > OK.
(b) In Word 2003 or earlier, click on Tools > Options > View tab > check the "Drawings" box and uncheck the "Picture placeholders" box > Print tab > check the boxes for "Drawing objects" and "Background colors and images" > OK.

Print Web report and don't print text but print frames

Hello , I am running a report by web browser, everything is ok and I can see that, now I want to print it so I put DESTYPE = printer and DESNAME =\\machine\printer then, when I print the report there is no mistakes but I dont know why I get a page without any character .. The frames print ok! all print ok but not the text, I test using diferent colors for the text but nothing .. could you help me please? this is really strange :( there is no message of error.

Indesign CC won't print color while exported pdf from the same document can!

I tried everything I know. Even reseting indesign..
As I mentioned in the title, when I try the pdf file that I exported from indesign it just works fine.
And I have no problem printing with color in Illustrator, Photoshop or any other softwares but Indesign.
Do I miss something?

I'm sorry to say, but I think it's probably a printer driver problem. Unfortunately, HP printer drivers have poor performance with Adobe InDesign. Do make sure you have to latest printer driver version, however.

HP says that the drivers for your all in one print/scanner are downloadable from apple. For the scanner to use preview. image capture or the scan icon from the print driver queue. I don't know how old your HP is, but I know that the newer Os from apple don't support a lot of older printers. You might be able find a third party driver that could work.

You can disable autoupdate by following these steps:
Go to main menu > Tools > Options > click on Advanced tab > click on Update tab and then click on the round radio button that says ''Never check for updates (not recommended: security risk)''

How to link two text elements to always read the same...

I have an InDesign Doc with a Master Page containing a margin and some graphic imagery that I want displayed on every page.
This works great, so that when I edit the master all other pages are updated.
However, within the master design there is a header that reads the 'Title' of the document, and the 'Version number'
This same information is presented on the front cover page of the document.
What I want to do, is to allow the header to automatically update to whatever is entered in the Front Cover Page text, as this will be the first field completed.
Is this possible?

I'm not sure I personally trust cross-document cross-refernces all that much, though. There are some reports of them breaking. I might be more inclined, for sake of safety, to repeat the text on page one of each file and use the variable. The text can be in a non-printing frame, if necessary, and that frame need only have some portion inside the bleed area or page boundary if no bleed is specified. The downside to this, of course, is if you edit one, you must edit all, while the cross-reference is a one-shot deal.
My 2-cents addition was added in hopes of saving some frustration for anyone who might want to achieve the result in a book of files.
If x-refs were as robust as they should be, you wouldn't need to mistrust them, of course.
More to the point, err, FrameMaker has global text variables that work across files in a book, so the <$booktitle> text variable, for example, is the same in all component files. You can do this in ID if you post a feature request at AdbeWish.
I'm not sure if placed external text files are more or less reliable than cross-references, but it's worth a try to enable (check) Preferences > File Handling > Links > Create Links When Placing Text and Spreadsheet Files, and place that text file into a master page text frame that applies a desired paragraph style, so that when/if links are updated, the formatting is reapplied.
Global text variables, for those folks who might benefit from them, are certainly worth the time and effort for those folks to file a formal request.

It depends. The Mac Pro may come with Lion, or at least 10.6.8, and some printers are no longer supported (Windows 7 either).
Also, you have to download drivers, sometimes from vendor. Sometimes apple has some thru software update, but not always.
without knowing printer make/model it is next to impossible to say for certain one way or another. If you do buy new printer, you can walk away with more power in injet, laser, and scanners to make it worthwhile. I had to update all of those when support was dropped. amazing how much faster and better the new models are, and for much less.

How do I e-print multiiple copies of the same document

Trying to use the HP eprint feature. I have no problem with a single document, but cannot find the option to print multiple copies of the same document.

Well the ePrint feature does not have the "print multiple copy" feature. Your options are to either send the email more than once or make a copy of what you have sent, once it prints out. I hope my response has helped answer your question! Thanks

I need to split a page A4 into 2 pages, it's possible using print, then tile large pages, the problem is that my original document is black and white, but the generated one has a shades of gray visible when zooming to 800% (and the size is much bigger), so my question is:
is it possible to print a document to Adobe PDF printer and getting exactly the same document?? same size, same black and white

I suspected as much. I was hopeful it was something like a setting that needed to be changed or a reg hack that needed a bit changed from 0 to 1 to make the printing work as expected. I only installed the local printer to see if the RDP session
tunnel was in fact causing the print size to balloon so I will continue to instruct users to use that instead of the local redirected printer. I am disappointed but not surprised.

Additionally I have tested the functionality of setting the GPO settings for Easy Print to use the redirected printer's drivers instead of the ones used by easy print, by setting “Computer
Configuration -> Administrative templates -Windows Components -> Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host -> Printer Redirection”.
to “Disabled” but
with no luck. In fact the printer received the proper Adobe PDF driver, but the job went out into print spool hell and was lost to the ether. I have concluded that this approach will not bear any fruit.

Generating a print doc deletes other docs in the same directory

Generating a new doc into a directory that contains a different doc generated off the same Word template causes the older doc to be deleted.
MY RH8 project is set up with a number of Print Documentation SSLs, one for each chapter of a book, all to use styles from the same Word template. Each SSL has the same Location selected, so all the chapters are by default created in a common directory, where each can be tweaked as needed and later all merged into a single PDF for distribution.
But as each doc is generated, the previously-generated doc in that directory disappears. The newer and older files have different file names, were generated by different RH Printed Documentation SSLs, but the SSLs refer to the same Word template. If a previously-generated doc is still open in Word when I generate the next, then I get the "[template name] is locked for editing" prompt, I select "Open a Read Only copy", it runs on to completion, and then both docs are present in the directory as expected.
The selected output can be doc, docx, or pdf, and always the earlier file is deleted. The selected Location in which the files are created can be inside the project or outside the project. It makes no difference whether the template's properties are set to Read-only.
An obvious workaround is to copy each file out to a different directory as soon as the file is generated. But RH deleting differently-named files is so obviously a malicious thing to do, I can't be working it right. Any ideas?

When you generate a Print Doc SSL, a log file with name <ProjectName>.log is created along with the generated word doc(s) in the output folder. This log file contains the name of the previously generated word doc(s). When a Print Doc SSL is re-generated, it read the name of previous word doc from the log file and deletes it and creates a new word doc with possibly new name given in the SSL settings.
So, this is the normal behaviour of RoboHelp and works correctly if each Print Doc SSL is generated in separate folders. But when all the Print Doc SSLs are generated in the same output folder then the current SSL reads the log file of the previous SSL and hence deletes the previously generated word doc in that output folder.
Workaround:
1. RoboHelp has an option to generate individual Word Document for each Chapter, it can be used instead of Multiple SSL with one Chapter each.
2. If you can't use the first option for any reason, then delete the <ProjectName>.log before generating the each Print Doc SSL.

I downloaded a season of Iron Man Anime and all of the episodes except episode 1 was downloaded. I looked at the error and it says "error = -50" and when I try to resume downloading, it continues to tell me that there is a download error and it wont resume.
It also says to check my network connection, but I'm connected. So....I'm not sure what to do...this kind of ticks me off.

I cant text flow using 3 different text files on the same document?????

Im starting out with 3 different files of text saved as "tab delimited text" from excel, I open a document in ID with 107 pages and create 3 boxes in the master on top of a pdf. I then override all 107 pages so that the text I insert will flow to the next page and so on, once I paste the 2nd text file into the next text frame it skips the original 107 files and starts flowing into new pages. Im ready to pull my hair out, I have been trying to figure this out for 2 hours. I dont know what to do at this point. I think Im getting a migraine.
I would have done a data merge on 2 of the files but the third HAS to be text flow (which gives me the same problem above) because it has to be physically changed to fit each page.

Are you Placing the text from an external file, or pasting it from the clipboard?
If Placing, move the loaded cursor inside one of the master frames on the first page, hold down the Shift key and click, being sure the cursor is not on any sort of guide. The entire text file will flow using the master text frames, and ID will add all the require pages to place all the text.
If pasting, you can either override the frame on the first page only, or make a temporary first frame on the pasteboard. Paste into this frame, which will result in a red plus sign in the bottom right corner of the text frame indicating overset text. Switch to the Selection tool (black arrow) and click on the plus sign to pick up the overset text. Hover the new loaded cursor over the frame on the second page, or over the first page as above if you used a temporary frame, hodl the Shift key and click. Delete the temporary frame, if you used one, and the text will reflow to start in the first real frame, but you may have to pick up overset again in the last frame due to the reflow.
