My HP LaserJet 1320 quit working correctly after the latest 10.8 update. HP site is useless. What do I do?

I'm working on a 2005 iMac with 10.8.5. After the latest update my HP LaserJet 1320 will only print one page then I have to shut down the printer and the computer and start all over again. The HP site is useless. Since the printer driver came from my latest update from Apple, there must be something I can do at this end. How do I get to the just printer driver to try loading it again? How do I go back to a printer driver that works?.

I am using Mountain Lion. I reset the system a thousand times. The Mac communicates fine with the printer, that's not the problem. Somehow, recently something changed in the ppd file for the LaserJet 1320 that it simply does not print properly. For instance, I sent a job to print two pages, and use the duplex. The duplex works, but then the other side comes out empty. Is there a place I can find the old - less secure, I don't care, I just want to print - ppd file for controlling the printer? I think the printer only supports certain level of Postscript commands, and the new ppd file expects a new level. This printer is 8 years old after all. If I plug the printer in Linux, it prints the same document fine.

Remote no longer works correctly after the latest Apple TV Update

I hope someone can help.
I have the latest Apple TV, purchased this year, and the update that was just released really messed things up in using a remote control. I've tried with both the original apple remote and my Harmony multi remote.
I can unpair/pair fine with either, but navigation just plain doesn't work. I press the down arrow, it may not move at all, it may scroll all the way down to the bottom of the screen, or anywhere in between. I press the select button, the icon on screen may do nothing, it may start to wiggle, or it may actually select it. Sometimes double clicking the select works as a single click.
After a lot of play around to get it to do what i want, i was able to do a full restore to factory, but that didn't change anything with the remote and now i cannot join the home sharing because the remote wont work well enough, so i can't use the iphone app.
As I said, I tried a full restore to factory, powering the Apple TV off, 2 different remotes, nothing works, help!!!!!
I have a pretty big iTunes Anime collection and I want to watch it!
I have an older Apple TV, but I'm afraid to even plug that in if the update is bad.

Sounds very odd - could be a hardware issue rather than software if more than 1 remote is affected. Strangely though some of my older white remotes seem to have beome very poorly responsive recently and I've replaced batteries in them only a few weeks ago, I think their keys are failing though.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

How I Got iTunes to Work After the Latest (So-Called) Update

Does anyone at (cr)Apple test updates before releasing them?!! My iTunes, as I see has happened with many, MANY others, would not open after downloading the latest update. Here's what I did to fix this issue:
1. Go into Windows Control Panel, click on "Programs and Features", and find both Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Uninstall both of them (in my case, both applications were listed twice, with two different version numbers. Ihad to uninstall the newer one first, before I could uninstall the older version).
2. Download the correct version of iTunes for your operating system (32-bit for 32-bit versions of Windows; 64-bit for 64-bit versions of Windows), and SAVE it (NOT run!) somewhere, like your desktop.
3. Once downloaded, right-click on the file and use a program like 7-Zip to extract the files somewhere you'll be able to locate them (in my case, "ITunes64SetUp").
4. Go into the folder and find the follwing two files or programs: "AppleApplicationSupport.msi" and "AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi" (or, I'm assuming if your system is 32-bit Windows, that last one would be called "AppleMobileDeviceSupport32.msi" or maybe just "AppleMobileDEviceSupport.msi).
5. Double-click each one and that will launch the install programs. Follow the prompts and install both.
6. After that, your iTunes should work correctly. Mine did!

This is ridiculous that we have to do this - the average computer user would have NO idea how to fix this!

Quit iTunes.
Copy the iTunes Folder to the D drive, leave a copy on the C drive.
Then open the XML file in the C drive in the iTunes folder with a Text editor with "Find and Replace" ability.
Correct all the partial pathnames so it matches the new location where the iTunes Folder is now.
Example:
Find: C:\Windows\Users\Johnny\Music\iTunesFolder... to
Replace: D\\Music\iTunesFolder....
Quit iTunes and transfer all the folders out of the iTunes Folder on C except the two single files, including the XML you edited.
Start iTunes and click on one song you have but dislike, if it plays your fine. Leave the C/iTunes folders alone to make sure it works for all your content, then finally back it up or delete it to make room on C. Do a Windows defrag on C for increased performance.
If you get a Explanation Point in iTunes, it didn't find the file and you didn't correct the pathnames correctly..

Develop Module is not working after the latest 5.5 update.

I have uninstalled and installed from the direct link.
Cleaned up and optimized the catalog, etc.
Images are visible in the library and develop module, but if I try to start editing - there are no changes visible, unless I go to Library and back to Develop.
If I click "before/after" the blank screen appears.
Help! This is a major work issue for me!

Do have some JPG, but generally all raw and it misbehaves with them all.
Have you tried making changes in Develop with the image zoomed in to 1:1? If so, is the behavior still the same?
Yes. At different zoom levels. Same problem.
Have you tried removing the *Previews.lrdata package that sits next to the catalog? Would need to do this while Lr is not running. (This will cause the need to regenerate previews, which can impact performance for a while.)
Mmmmm... I removed a bunch of things last time, maybe it was part of it... Can't find it right now. Where would it be?
Have you tried purging the Camera Raw cache, in the 'Camera Raw Cache Settings' of the 'File Handling' tab in the preferences?

Airport Extreme-won't connect after the latest Apple software update

My iBook will no longer connect to the wi-fi provider at our marina since the last two security updates to 10.3.
The iBook works just fine with all other wi-fi signals in fact pulls in one that's a half mile away! Yet, it will not connect nor show signal strength with this one wi-fi provider. They haven't changed their signal and it occured immediately after I installed the latest software updates.
When I shut down the computer today, for just a moment, a message flashed "should I grant permission to allow the marina wi-fi to connect". But it was gone before I could "click" on the button. Haven't been able to get that message again. I've tried to re-connect via "Other" and keying in the wi-fi system name and password but no luck.
How can I restore my connection to this wi-fi?

I had this issue last month after upgrading Quicktime and downloading a security upgrade. For some reason (which Apple couldn't derive), the upgrades for their products screwed up my Keychain, and the only way to fix it was to reset my Keychain. Like you, I run 10.3.9, and this happened with two different upgrades on both my iBook and my iMac.
The reset process is as follows:
Go to Keychain Access in Utilities
Access Keychain First Aid (under Window menu)
Choose Options
Choose "Reset Keychain"
What a pain...I've stopped downloading upgrades from Apple until this gets resolved. Of course, that's not a good "solution" either.

Has anyone been having issues with their One Max after the Sense 6.0 update? And, if so, what kind of issues?

Ok, since the Sense 6.0 update, I keep getting one of 2 messages. The first, says that they are having issues activating my phone. The other says that my sim card is already activated.
My girlfriends One Max, resets her contact ringtones to the default one after each reset.
I have also heard of other issues ranging from contacts disappearing, to battery drain and wi-fi issues.

They are almost totally random. They mainly appeared when I was receiving a call. she is just doing a soft reset. When the Sense 6.0 update rolled out, it changed my girlfriends ringtones back to stock instead of the mp3 that she had set.
My one max was a much loved device and the first HTC phone i have owned in years. (last was the droid incredible) But, the errors became more and more common, and forced me to edge up into a new phone. (LG g3 as of yesterday)
As for troubleshooting my one max while i had it. yes, i tried taking the sim card out for 30 seconds, i had the sim card replaced.....I had the phone checked out and nothing was wrong with the phone itself that the techs could find.

How I got my ipdo to work again after the latest updater

after about 20 hours of headaches and listening to everyone's similar problems and trying everything under the rotten apple tree, here's yet another solution that seems to have fixed the problem. will have to wait and see how long.
I went to another computer that has never been tainted by (cr)apple software before. downloaded (do a save to a folder not a run) an earlier ipod updater from here http://www.soft32.com/download_121872.html
I then disabled my network connection and installed the updater. after doing that I got a windows pop-up about rebooting to update my usb drivers. I said no, I prefer microsoft.
it took a couple of tries but I got my ipod restored with nothing on it of course.
I then installed itunes (latest version). It did recognize my ipod and I told it "not to auto update". I played around manually dragging files onto my ipod and it seemed ok so I took it back to the original computer that has my thousands of songs on it. experimented some more with manually updating it. felt it was working fairly well so took a chance at having it auto-update. all seems fine now.
now at the risk of being un-constitutionally censored here's my opinion about the whole scneario.
a) the people at apple are too incompetent to conjure up a "force to upgrade hardware" scheme. sorry, it's simply just that same incompetence that has created the problem. the same incompetence that can't fix the problem. and the same incompetence that ignores the problem. any decent company wouldn't ignore it's customers like this. at least admit the problem and say your working on it.
b) when an apple product works it works...when it doesn't it doesn't. there are no fixes, no solutions. when it breaks it's time to purchase something new. anyone even contemplating sending in their ipod for repair shouldn't. if you are going to dish out that kind of dough you should move away from apple's proprietary stuff and get with the program and move to an industry standard such as mp3.
c) the ipod fad will end like everything else in apple's history. the ipod like every other apple product is a joke. why else after 20 years can they only manage but a tiny percentage of the personal computing market.
d) I'm obviously not a fan of apple, never have been never will be..just had a brief moment of insanity when purchasing my ipod a couple years back. will never happen again.

Unable to open words document after the latest mac office update

I hv just updated my Office for Mac after being prompted to do so. however, we was not able to open my words doc after that.

It's possible you've reset the crop option during the placement of another PDF or .ai file and it's set to somethign that doesn't exist in the PDF you are trying to place (Bleed box, or Trim Box are likely candidates). Try showing the options when you place the file and check the crop options. It should be sticky for both PDF and .ai until changed again.

After the latest 7.1 update I am having extreme troublemaking my iPhone five hangup. Particularly if it goes to someone's message bank.

after I updated to 7.1 my own iPhone is having extreme trouble hanging up. Is particularly bad if the phone rings out and the call goes to message bank. Pressing the hash key twice will do it most times. I'm wondering whether its an issue with 7.1 or Telstra has changed their method of operating with message bank.

OK, after hours of troubleshooting I post this, and within seconds I discover the answer on my own. Gotta be one of Murphy's laws!
I discovered that in Settings, Notification Center, Phone, the Alert Style setting was Alerts, and the Alert sound was set to my ringtone. I believe this was the way the phone was originally set up (the default) but I'm not sure. Anyway just for grins (read: thoroughness in troubleshooting) I changed the Alert Style to None, saved it and tested by attempting to call the phone. VOILA!!!!!!! I received the call, loud and clear, no issues at all. This must be a bug in the new version of the iOS. Anyway, problem resolved and thanks to anyone who had already seen this and was trying to figure it out! MRADTEX

I'm running firefox 3.6.18 and after the latest windows xp update, I do not get a new tab when I click on the "+" button to get a new tab. A new tab is inserted when I open clik on a link form something in the current window.

After the latest Mountain Lion Update I am missing emails

I recently installed an update for Mountain Lion on my desktop iMac and now all my emails prior to 9/24 of this year are missing. Did something change in how they are stored? I can't think of why they would be gone!

When going to your software updates on your device it will provide you with the latest available update for your device.
the iPhone 4 will update to iOS 7.0.4 provided all other updates the device is asking for has been completed.

No but what might matter is your location. Are you in the US? If not, have you verified that Vimeo is supporting your country.
That could be the answer. Perhaps you can't see it because they don't and thus the software hides that option for now cause why be cruel and show you something only to say "sorry you can't use this" when you select it

I had already attempted that. After a day with no changes I finally reset the apple tv to factory settings. I of course had to reload all my personal settings, IDs password etc. Netflix works again. Must be an issue apple has with the latest upgrade that added History channnel, A & E along with a few others.
