My HP LaserJet 1536 Scanner will not work after upgrading to Windows 10

I just upgraded to Windows 10, and now the scanner will not work, although I can still print. I downloaded the latest driver, but this does not seem to help. The error message I get states that scanner communication cannot be established. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks!

Greetings , I saw your post regarding the problems you are having with scanning after upgrading to windows 10.
I would start with the simple, have you tried just restarting the computer? Have you made sure your computer has all of it's windows updates? How can I tell if my computer is up to date? Most products do have updated software available for Windows 10, did you install the correct driver?HP LaserJet Full Feature Software and Driver I've also seen a few posts that say the Windows 8.1 driver will work for Windows 10 as well, so you could try that too.  HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. I recommend downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor, if it doesn't fix it automatically let me know what errors or messages you receive.  Do you know if you are able to scan using Paint? (It's the same for Windows 10, from what I've been told)Right-click the Start button () in the lower left corner of the screen, click Search, and then type ...Click Paint in the results.Click File, and then click From scanner or camera.Select your printer, click OK, and then click Scan. The FN keys are controlled by Value Added Package and Flash Cards Support Utility. I think you have forgotten to install these tools
You should check the Toshiba page again and download both tools. Start with installation of Value Added Package then restart your notebook. After this install Flash Cards Support Utility. Once again restart and all FN keys should work properly now.

Otherwise, try deleting this file. com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist located at /Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that .plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and restart your Mac.
Have you tried resetting your widgets by hitting Command-R? If that doesn't, work trying trashing the two dashboard preference files.
The two dashboard preference files are in the following directory:
yourusername -> Library -> Preferences ->
The file names are:
com.apple.dashboard.client.plist
com.apple.dashboard.plist

Scanner of HP 8500 A909g does not work after upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10

After upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and subsequent upgrade of printer software, the scanner functionality did not work. When I tried to uninstall the printer software I got the message "HP uninstaller has stopped working". After another upgrade of printer software the scanner was still not working. How can I get around this problem? Update:

I had the same problem with my Officejet Pro 8600 All-in-One scanner, sfter upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. After uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer driver, the problem is solved. You can look up the model of your printer on HP's support site and download it from there. Apparently, not all printers are compatible with Windows 10. In that case, they recommend you buy a new printer. ;-)

Keyboard wireless key not working after upgrading to windows 8.1

I am having hp pavilion dv6-6165tx notebook, where keyboard having a wireless button that turns ON and OFF all wireless devices, After upgrading to windows 8.1, HP Connection Manager is not getting installed, as well as Key is not working, key color turns red and white but no action is performed.
Kindly suggest me some solution.
Note: HP Doesn't provide drivers for windows 8/8.1 ONLY WINDOWS 7 for hp pavilion dv6-6165tx.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dv6-6165tx Notebook and the Wireless keyboard not working correctly. Here is a link to troubleshoot the keyboard.
The HP Connection Manager is something that is for Windows 7 not Windows 8.1. I would uninstall this from your Notebook. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updating. It has a troubleshooting tool in this.
Make sure all your updates have been completed. I would try restarting my Notebook a few times.
If that does not help I would uninstall the keyboard from the Device manager.

Ethernet LAN not working after upgrading to windows 8.1

After upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1, my Ethernet LAN is no longer working. Wireless LAN connectivity is OK. I have run the HP Support Assistant and downloaded the drivers for 8.1. Hovever, I do not see a 8.1 driver listed for the Ethernet LAN.

This would be the best place to start: Troubleshooting Touch Screen Issues in Windows 8. This is a great document that covers touchscreen issues from start to finish. Do not be alarmed that it states the document pertains to TouchSmart PC's, as the steps are the same.

Dolby Home Theater v4 not working after upgrading to Windows 10

Hi there, I just upgraded to Wndows 10 Home from Windows 8.1; everything went smoothly except for the fact that Dolby Home Theater v4 does not work. I had to reinstall it using the .msi file found in the Realtek Audi folders. I chose v4 over any of the other versions because I like how I can tune the equalizer to my liking and different uses. Anyways, the regular audio works and Dolby is turned on but there is no activity appearing on the equalizer and my music does not change once adjusted. Had this problem when doing an optional audio driver update in the past when I was running 8.1. I do not have the option to rollback the driver after upgrading to Windows 10. Does anyone have a solution to this issue or know what the correct Realtek driver is to make Dolby work? This is one of my favorite features of my laptop and I really want it up and running again! I was not able to download cleanup tool/online scanner too. but may be it has something to do with my internet bandwidth. and other strange thing i observed is that before restart i was not even able to turn off all security features. but after restart that problem seems to be corrected.

Which Operator and Country SIM card you are using ?Error Code 36 is regular deactivation. Do a Windows update , Restart then Shut Down System and start ( TYhis Power cycles the Device ) . From your Screenshot it Looks like the Cellular Data is not ON and Microsoft cellular service is in some mismatched state after upgrade.After restart press like in below screenshot order 1 --> it turns cellular on or off, 2---> It will take you to settings page 3--> Connect from here. Dont ask why Microsoft made connecting to WWAN device so complex

Games not working after upgrading to windows 10

My Laptop configuration is 8GB Ram,Intel i7 processor and 4GB Nvidia Graphics which is more than enough for running games like Batman Arkham, Portal, Skyrim etc. These games used to worked smoothly when I had windows 8.1, but after upgrading to windows 10 these games are not working/working very slowly. That is very interesting, because I didn't know of anyone who upgraded to W8.0 with a Ralink wireless card with the BT 3.0 radio that got the BT to work at all.
We tried the W7 drivers, and they didn't work.
That is why you don't see a W8 Ralink BT driver for the bluetooth on your PC's support and driver page amongst the other 11 drivers listed.
The Ralink 3.0 version of BT is not supported in W8.
While somehow the BT has worked in W8 for you, I'm afraid your luck has run out.
Unless by some fluke, HP installed a card with the BT 4.0 radio on your model...
You can try this W8 driver for the Ralink card with the BT 4.0 radio, but don't get your hopes up.

Kodak printer will not work after upgrading to Yosemite.. Please Help

I have uninstalled and re installed my kodak 5250 more than once and it still does not work. I have carried out a clean install of my Yosemite OS and still no joy. How do i fix this?

I've got the 7250 as well -- same exact issue. I sent an e-mail to Kodak support on Friday last week -- haven't heard anything, but they did ask for 2 business days time to respond.
I've been running the Yosemite Beta on one of my machines for a few months now and my printer stopped working on that one after the upgrade. I kept Mavericks on my other Mac until this weekend, and printing still worked from that machine until I upgraded to Yosemite over the weekend.
I've got Linux and Windows virtual machines that can print to the ESP 7250, so I can still print, albeit with the hassle of firing up a VM and printing from there... I sure hope Kodak responds! I offered to help them test any beta-quality drivers they may have, so -- we'll see what they say!
I've been planning to ditch the printer and get a new one, but I'd rather not have to do it right this minute just for a driver issue :-/

Time machine will not work after upgrade

Since I upgraded to Mavericks on Oct. 22, Time Machine will not run properly, or at all for that matter. It tells me that it is 'Preparing Backup', but it was said that for over 4 days now. Suggestions?

I had a strange issue with Time Machine and Mavericks. Time machine wouldn't recognise the external USB drive I was using for backups. There was nothing in the logs, no errors, the time for the backup would come along and then it would skip to the next hour with no backup being done. What I was doing was removing the drive from Time Machine Preferences and re-adding it, TM would then start a manual backup and from that point it would run fine.
I ended up doing a Disc Verify on the drive (all ok, no issues) and shut the machine down. Today I booted up and staright away the TM Icon for the drive is correct and the TM is running as it used to.
I have three macs, all with external USB drives, the other two macs have no issues with TM, only my main one. Having a look at other issues, my external drive is a Western Digital unit so maybe that has something to do with it, though it can see the drive fine from Finder.
Anyway, if you are having similar issues, just run the Disc Verify Utility (and repair if there are errors) and hopefully it'll fix up that particular issue.

Gmail POP will not work after upgrade to Leopard (Mail 3.5)

I recently upgraded to Leopard and was previoulsy using Gmail for my POP service, whuch worked fine.
I was a little disappointed that the upgrade disabled by HTTP app that allowed me to access my Hotmail, but no big.
The big deal here is tht I have tried everything listed on Gmail's troubleshooting page for POP accounts and I can't get Mail to connect to the smtp nor pop server. I tried deleting recreting the account, verified settings with what's listed, opening the firewall, testing the telnet connection (nothiing happened, so I guess that's good?).
I sent this issue to Gmail but all I got back was a redirect to the Troubleshooting page and an .exe tool that I can't use.
Anyone else out there that may have this problem or have a clue as to what I could be missing?
I was also loged in to Gmail while setting up account so I know I can access the mail outside of POP.

After spending a couple of hours researching this the solution that worked perfectly for me was to delete all plist files.
1. Start with Finder/Macintosh HD/Mail/ look for the plist file there and delete it.
2. Go back to Finder, ctrl click and select Go to Folder
3. paste this: ~/Library/Mail/
4. Find all plist files and delete.
If you feel more comfortable, you may save them someplace as a backup.
After deleting all plist files related to Mail, restart your PC. If you don't it may not work.
Either prior to doing this or after, be sure your settings are correct for gmail.
Once I did this, all of my incoming and outgoing messages loaded properly and everything worked perfectly.
