My hp mini 210-1076nr is saying boot device not found

can you help me please

You are also getting the "Hard Disk (3FO)" error during boot vegaloader?
This likely means that your hard drive is failing or has failed.  Kamat_HP posted a great graphic showing the different error states that can appear.  Your (3F0) refers to the hard drive.  It is possible that it has been corrupted, is failing, or has failed.  To determine this we will need to run a hard disk check.  Follow these steps and post the result.

    Hello hungvocam
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!
I understand you are experiencing an issue with your notebook. However, since this is a commercial notebook, you should post your issue on the notebook board of the HP Enterprise Forums for a better answer.
Thanks and have a great day!

My screen says boot device not found. Please install an operating system on hard drive. What could have caused this problem? Help!!!!!

    Hi,
Can you post back with the following.
    1.  The full Model No. and Product No. of the notebook - see Here for a further explanation.
    2.  The full version of the operating system you are using ( ie Windows 7 32bit ).
    3.  Shut down the notebook.  Tap away at f10 as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu.  Under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run a test on the Hard Drive.  Post back with the details of any error messages.

    Hi,
Remove the hard disk drive from the laptop once and then reconnect it. Load BIOS screen by tapping F10 & check if the hard disk drive is listed or not. Also you can run a test on the hard disk drive from BIOS using the below link
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00439024&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc...

  • Boot device not found, hard disk not exist.... does that mean my computer is dead?

Suspecting that Im in a world of hurt here. I tried turning on my computer and it says "boot device not found" - run in test failed... when I hit F4 and run a hard disk test it says "hard disk not exist". The memory test passes, but under the boot device not found it says in blue "please install an operating system on your hard disk"... and to make matters worse it's making some funny noises when it tries to boot.
Is there any hope at all that this computer will work again? Is there any chance that any of the things I had on my hard disk can be recovered?

    You're very welcome, Jonathan.
dv5 still isn't enough info for me to provide the service manual (in case there are differerent ones for the different dv5 models).
However here is the link to the service manual I randomly pulled.
    http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01550108/c01550108.pdf
Assume it is safe to say all dv5 models come with SATA notebook drives.
So, if you want to spring for $15, you can get this enclosure which apparently has very good reviews.
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182138
From what you are describing (noise and stuff), I would say you don't have much of a chance to recover data but that is up to you if you want to try the enclosure or not.
    Here is what I recommend:
Yank the hard drive, and power on the notebook.
If the odd noise you heard is gone, then you can pretty much safely assume the drive was the cause, and that replacing the drive, and reinstalling the operating system will solve the issue.
If the noise is still there, then there could be another issue, and it might be risky throwing good money after bad.

  • "boot device not found. please install an operating system on your hard disk error on Dm3 1030us

    Hi
    I have the following computer:
    name: hp pavilion Dm3 1030us
    serial number: {Removed for privacy}
    product number: VM073UA#ABA
when i boot up my laptop it says "boot device not found. please install an operating system on your hard disk."
this laptop does not have a cd drive but I do have a external one. since it does not have a cd drive therefore they didnt give me a recovery cd.
It had Windows 7 on it.
Is there a way to get the issue resolved

You would have to call in to HP tech support ( 1-800-HP-INVENT) and have them order you some RCD's.

  • HP G42 Notebook Windows 7 - continued to crash - now says Reboot Device not found.

    I have a HP G42 Notebook Laptop
    Product Number - XZO46UA#ABA
    It is a Windows 7 64 - bit PC
What it has been doing is Constantly Crashing and going to blue screens, and when you move the mouse to turn it on the fans ill be very loud, and at times Lap-top will get extremely hot!!  Just Yesterday it crashed and then restarted but then it went to a black screen that says (Boot Device Not Found) and i don't think that i have a Reboot Disk!!
And there has been absolutely no Changes made to the PC before this issue had accured.
If anybody can give me any information on how to Fix this problem or if i have to go to HP store or have Technition come out?
                      >>>Thank you!<<<

Suddenly the system now recognises that the monitor has a 5-touch input and the installation is running.
    Not sure what solved it:
    - Had Windows check for a frech driver (it was up-to-date)
    - Fiddled around a little in Paint just to see if 5-touch input is working
    - Activated a second display (not touchscreen)
I then looked at the System information screen again, and the number of tocuh point appeared correctly

  • Froze up and then boot device not found

Opened Up Sleekbook, Was Trying To Look At A page Already Open And Exit Out Of Another. Page Did Not Respond. Asked To Recover Webpage. Did Not Respond. Tried Ctrl,Alt,Delete...Nothing So HIt Power Button. Turned Back O. After 10Seconds. Black Screen Says Boot Device Not Found. What Do i Do?

Go into either F2 (UEFI diagnostics) or F10 (BIOS) as you power up and look for a hard drive diagnostic and run it. Best bet is your hard drive crashed and needs replacement. What kind of Sleekbook? We need that information to tell you how to proceed.

My Pavilion dv7-3165dx recently had a total HDD failure, first I tried to order an OEM replacement HDD from the HP parts sales phone line, but they only offered a smaller HDD as their listed replacement for my laptop. I finally got them to inform me that the tech support line might be able to sell me the OEM HDD. On calling the tech support line I was able to order the correct HDD, and it came with a set of recovery DVDs to install Win 7, and the other OEM partitions on my new HDD. This being the case if your HDD has failed you may want to call the tech support line to find out if they have an OEM HDD, and the recovery DVDs to go with your machine.
