  • HP Office Jet Pro 8610 will not print but will only fax

We have a HP Office Pro Jet 8610 and it worked fine until we hooked it up as a fax machine also on Thursday.
It used to copy, print, scan perfectly but we need a new fax machine so we went out and bought the phone cord and hooked up a fax line and telephone with built in answering to the Office Jet and the fax works , but now it will not print a document from Open Office to the printer because it tries to make a fax cover page.
I have run out of ideas can you please help?

There are two "printer" drivers on there, to print, choose the "Officejet Pro 8610 Printer" instead of the "Officejet Pro 8610 FAX". You probably set the second one as default when the fax function is added, which is for PC fax. If you use the print function more often than fax, make the non-fax one the default printer.

  • Why does my hp office jet pro 8500 premier not print what is seen in print preview when using excel?

HPoffice jet pro 8500 premier, Windows Vista

    Hi,
Please try this test: In Excel setup print area and print again. If the printer prints the right area that means something in Excel. Some Excel cells may contain something and Excel sends all to printer.

  • HP Office Jet Pro 8600 will not print or scan on wireless network

After set up with windows 7 lap top all went well. Then after several months It would not print wirelessly. A tech pro said I needed a new modem did that but got same results. Messages pop up saying "cannot find printer" or "printer not availale" If I turn the printer off then back on most of the time it will print. If I do not turn the printer off then on - several hours later it will start printing. Also it will not scan. An icon says "scan to computer is currently not available" Any and all suggestioons would be greatly appreciated. Keep in mind I am not a computer wizzard. Thanks

You're going to have to access your routers admin pages and check the DHCP address range.  This is the 'automatic' IP that it hands out to your devices.   IP for your router are typically 192.168.1.2 thru .254.  192.168.1.1 is typically reserved for the router itself.   Set the DHCP range to 192.168.1.100 thru .254.  This now leaves static IP's 192.168.1.2 thru 192.168.1.99.   Set the printer to something like 192.168.1.10.
Now change the wireless channel in the router to channel 1.  Save settings.   Now try.

  • New hp Office Jet Pro 8500 A910 will not take printing from computer to printer

My new HP Office Jet Pro 8500 A910

    Hi Acepvteye,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you cannot print with your HP Officejet pro 8500 A910, and I am happy to help you with this
    issue!
For further assistance, I will need to know:
If the printer is connected, Wireless, or USB.
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is able to make copies by itself.
If the power cable plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
Hope to hear from you, and thank you for posting!

  • Hp officejet pro 8500 will not print alignment page

Hi, I saw that others on this thread where having similar problems and I was wondering if anyone could help.
I have been having trouble with my HP Office Jet Pro 8500 Wireless (A909g series) printer with the print heads. Initially, it stopped printing in blue so I followed all of the steps for cleaning the print head ect.  At one point I had removed the print head and reinserted it and at that point, I started to get the "alignmnet failed" message.  I just purchased a new M/B print head, and while it now prints in blue when a test page is printed, I still get an alignment failure notice when it tries to align the print head.  In addition, it does not print the full alignment page, only the top colored lines.  While I can print, it always runs an alignment afterwards, again failing.  I would apprecaite any help you could provide.  This printer has been great until now, and I do not want to waste anymore ink trying to print and it failing the alignment everytime.  I am running Windows 7 professional.  Thank you.

Hello , Welcome to the thread!  I understand that your HP Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One A909a Printer is experiencing Printhead and Alignment failures. Because you have already replaced both the Cyan and Magenta Printhead (twice) and Black and Yellow Printhead in the past and the issues continue to occur over time I believe that the Printhead sensor or print system within the actual printer is going. Should this occur then print system issues, such as Alignment, Printhead, cartridge, quality, etc issues will occur and will usually become worse over time. Therefore, rather then replacing the Printheads it may be time to replace the actual printer. With that being said, there are a few troubleshooting steps that I would like you to complete to resolve this issue.   To start, please click here . Once the support document opens please review all of the listed Solutions and sub-steps to ensure that all steps have been completed. Should the issue persist, then a Firmware Update may be needed on your printer. However, I do need to know what Operating System you're using on your computer in order to provide you with the correct Firmware Update. The Firmware is the internal programming within your printer. It controls what your printer does and how your printer does it. If there is a corruption within the internal programming in your machine, your HP Officejet may not respond correctly.   Please respond to this post with the result of your Alignment Failed troubleshooting. Should the issue persist, be sure to include your Operating System in your response so I can provide you with the additional Firmware Update. I look forward to hearing from you!

  • HP Office Jet Pro 8500 Wireless carriage jam message.

I have an HP Office Jet Pro 8500 Wireless.  It is on a home wireless network and I am using a new HP laptop with Windows 7 (64-bit).  I am getting a carriage jam message that I cannot get removed.  Leading up to this, my son did have a paper jam and probably didn't get all the paper removed the first time around.  But I have checked thoroughly with a flashlight and there is now no paper anywhere in the carriage.  I have followed the video online and still have the same message and I can tell that the carriage is not moving side to side.  It stays over on the right side.   When the video talks about manually moving the carriage, I can move it very easily manually after I wiggle it a little and move it to the right a little.  Then it will move back and forth easily by hand.  I have tried to see if something is blocking it, but can see nothing.  But then when I try to print a test page, no luck.  I have reset it according to the video with no results.  I cannot print a test page from the touchscreen or from my computer.
I really like this printer and hope you can help me.

I hope you are doing well and sorry lt learn that you are having this issue.
If you still facing this issue I will do my best to help you

  • Ipad mini printing to Hp office jet pro 8500 wireless

Any suggestions re printing from Ipad mini using HP office jet pro 8500 wireless which supposedely is Airprint compatible?Downloaded HP's Eprint but it was not able to ID printer. Thank you.

If its AirPrint compatible you should not need an additional App. The App is onyl foir their wireless Printers which aren't Air Print compatible.
Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wifi network as the iPad. Then tap on the "Send To" icon in any App that you wish to print. Then tap on the Print option.
From there it should Appear as a selectable Printer in the Printers button

  • Two office jet pro 8500 printers set up to operate wirelessly from one computer

I have two office jet pro 8500 Wireless printers in my real estate office. I would like for them to both operate wirelessly from one computer, but can't get it to work.  I do not have any firewalls enabled. I can get only one to work.

Do you have a network (wireless router) in your office that you are trying to connect the printers to or are you connecting directly to each printer via its "hpsetup" network?

  • HT6114 HP Office Jet Pro 8500 Scanner no longer works with Mavericks upgrade

I have an all-in-one printer/copier/fax/scanner, HP Office Jet Pro 8500.  The scanner no longer works with the Mavericks upgrade.  Is it possible to get the scanner back in use?  The printer and fax is fine, but I really use the scanner a lot.  Please helap me.

The following link to the HP Support site indicates that scanning is still supported for the OfficeJet Pro 8500 using Mavericks but also indicates that "you may need to scan in a different way than you did before you installed Mavericks."
