MY HP Paviilion DV6 cant write recovery disks!!!!!!!!!!!

I have Hp DV6-7043cl and i want to create recovery media on 5 disks,, when it prepare the data to be wirte on the first disk says error craeting media,,,,,
what should i have to check to create the media dvds

Normally that happens when generic DVDs are used. I use Verbatim DVD-R DVDs and have never had a problem creating recovery disk sets.
I highly recommend using a usb flashdrive media instead of DVD disks. Flashdrive are far faster, more durable and reliable than DVD disks. All it takes is one scratch on the paper (or label) side of a DVD and it can become unuseable.

    Hi,
I would recommend calling HP ( the telephone number can be found on the relevant link below ) and explain that the Recovery Media Creator is unable to create a viable set of Recovery Discs and request that they send you a free replacement set.

  • HP Pavilion DV6 Model: 3307sz Recovery Disk Missing

    Hi
My notebook recovery disks are missing. How can i download the recovery disk?
    Awaiting For Solution
    Praveen

    Uh....
Sorry but your model doesn't have reocvery disk to order yet.
What you could do is to use a backup software or the preinstalled microsoft backup tool to do a partition like C drive backup.
When your system fails, you could restore it without starting over with factory defult and all that stuff.
Sorry because of different timezone I might not be able to help/reply you right away.IF that happens I deeply apologize!

  • T60 Disk Drive Failure After Trying to Write Recovery Disk

    Hello,
After backing up my computer for a reformat, I decided to create system recovery disks. I inserted a CD, and got an "unspecified error" message with the code 0x80004005. My computer no longer recognizes any disks I put in it, including my Windows 7 disk, and makes a sound I've never heard before, that sounds like the drive starting to run, then failing before it gets to speed.
Is it possible that Windows has somehow deactivated my disk drive, or could it have happened to fail minutes before a reformat due to the strain of having to burn a CD? Is there some way for me to salvage the optical drive without taking physical measures? If the optical drive is toast, is it possible for me to copy files from the Windows 7 CD to USB, and boot it from there?
    Thanks for any help.
Edit: I found a guide for reformatting from USB, and will attempt it once I find a flash drive large enough for the Windows 7 ISO I made.

Hello Axeman89 and welcome to Lenovo community,
As I understand the optical drive does not read any disc now.
Uninstall the optical drive driver from device manager and restart the system and check,
If the issue persist the update the optical drive firmware from Lenovo website and also try making the anti virus program disable or uninstall.
    Best Regards,
    Tanuj

I do not have recovery disks for this computer.  I tried to order them but them seem to not be available.  This is my daughter's computer.  She says she started to have trouble after downloading Frost Wire (music share) and then she removed it.  We tried going back to an earlier time and that didn't help and then the blue screen with error message appeared. What do I do now?

    Hi,
Assuming your in the US, recovery discs are available to order for that model here.  That may be the best option.
You should also be able to do a recovery without the discs as well.  Take a look at this document: Recover Windows Vista Operating System Using HP Recovery, and look for the section Restore the PC to its original condition with the HP Recovery Manager if Windows Vista is not accessible.  This should allow you to recover the PC.

  • Hp pavilion dv6 6180 help me for this error when I am using my recovery disk

hp pavilion dv6 6180 help me for this error when I am using my recovery disk
The destination drive is not connected

Hello Mohammadshamlou.  I understand that you're having some issues using your Recovery Disc.  It is giving you the error that the drive is not connected.  Is this correct?  How long have you had the notebook?
What issue originally led you to want to try a recovery?
The error seems to imply that it is not detecting the hard drive as this would be the most logical destination drive.  So, I feel the best thing to try first is verify that the hard drive is in proper working order.  Follow these steps and please post the result.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC unable to boot recovery disk

HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC unable to boot recovery disk.  First when I power on my notebook it goes straight to the launch recovery or launch Windows normally screen.  When I choose start windows normally, it goes to the window screen and freeze.  When I try to launch the start-up with windows 7 start-up disk, the computer will not load the files.  When I tried to complete a hard drive test, it failed with a failure ID 9UXNXA-55E65V-XD003G-60XR03.
I'm looking for a solution, can someone help?

    Hi:
It sounds like you need to purchase a new hard drive for your notebook, and reinstall the operating system with your recovery disks.
When a HDD fails a diagnostic test, it normally means it is done for.

  • HP Envy dv6 7398ca. win 8 64 bit. During recovery disk 4, get 3f0 error

    Hi,
I have a brand new HP Envy dv6 7398ca.win 8 64 bit.  I had a problem that caused me to do a system refresh. After that, Windows update and MS Office would not update/install. Talked to Tech Support, they wanted me to go thru every service and started task to see if one was corrupt (requires reboots and update and recovery from win Update). Anyway, decided to do a system recovery/system reset. I had recovery disks and files backed up, so thought I should be fine.
During Recovery (from Win 8, recovery manager) when disk 4 was inserted, it gets to 56% and then stops with the 'dest drive not connected' msg. The system hangs and have to power off. Tried a couple times, then went to sys reset.  got to disk 4 again and then 3F0 msg with 'boot device not found, install os on hdd'. did quick check on hdd, all ok. Am running a full check now, but takes 5 hours(geesh, like back in the 80's again).
I can't believe the hdd is bad, because it goes through format, and 4 disks of loading files ok, and keeps stopping on the same spot.
Any ideas, before I finish waiting the 5 hours (1tb drive). Any ideas for after it finishes the test (I'm betting it's okay).
    Thanks so much!

    Hello socalfun64,
    You’re getting an error 3f0.
Here are steps that Big_Dave  wrote that might help with the problem.
The below solution may correct this problem:
Download UEFI Shell x64, rename the file to shellx64.efi, move it to FAT/FAT32-formatted USB-flash. Label the USB flash drive something that you will quickly recognize.
Insert the USB flash and then power up the HP UEFI enabled laptop and tap the ESC key to allow you to display the Start up menu.
    Select Boot device Options (F9)
    Select Boot from EFI file
Select the USB flash drive and hit enter
You should now see Shell.efi. Hit enter.
Ignore all the screen information that scrolls down on the screen
Once in the shell enter bcfg boot dump to see current boot manager entries. Option 00 should be the hard drive or SSD, option 01 the USB drive (UEFI) and option 02 the Internal CD/DVD Rom drive (UEFI)
This posted HP document will give you some ideas on how to remove, reorder and add the entries in the EFI boot manager. Review #3
If you’re not able to correct the problem, you may have to send the laptop in for repair.
Here is a link to a number to call HP and see what options they have to repair the laptop.
Let me know how everything goes
    Have a good day.
