My hp pavilion dv4 screen wont turn on but the cap, and num lock blink

My Hp pavilion dv4- 2145dx and my laptop screens stays black but the key board stays on like the caps lock and the number lock, the mouse, volume, and the wifi light they all turn on and so do the fans but the caps and num lock blink every second at this point i dotn know what to do can anyone help

First, try a Hard Reset as follows.
Shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for a full minute. Re-insert the battery, plug in the AC Adapter and see if the notebook will start.
If it still doesn't start, is there a sequence to the 'blinks' that you can match to the table below?

Same problem with my 2 yr old HP Pavilion tx 2000
I sent it back to HP for repair and paid around $300. It broke down with the same symptoms after 2 weeks. Sent it back to them again. Again after a month the same issue happened. Luckily all of this happened within 90 day warranty. Sent it to them again.
Now today after 4 months of last repair my laptop wont turn on, with exactly the same symptoms. Called HP today, and the representative was trying to sell me a new laptop a srepair is no more under warranty.
I spent $900 on the original computer and another $300 for repairs and what they are advising me now is to buy a new one. Even they dare to ask me to buy their product again as they say I should not judge the company through my bad experience.

I hope you can help me.
My laptop is the HP Pavilion DV6-1216sa, bought new in September 2009. When I turn it on, I get a blank screen, the fan is working and the wifi, volume and mute lights light up. The caps lock and num lock lights flash together, once everyone 3 or 4 seconds. Normally when this happens (it has happened throughout the life of the laptop), I turn it off and turn it back on, and it works again. However this time, the problem persists. I've tried most combinations to get the bios screen up and I've tried getting it to another screen via hdmi and VGA, but no signal received. I have tried everything recommended by the HP support website. I have checked the battery, ram, and hard drive.

The best cheapest fix is if you can remove the motherboard your self and send it to a refabricator who will check all the chips on the motherboard and reball the bad ones. Cost is about $60-120, closer to the bottom if you can ship them just the board but if necessary they will take the whole laptop and remove the board for you.

My iphone 4 was dropped on the bottom right corner, and the screen did not crack at all. The screen won't turn on, but alerts and noises come from the phone when i get a notification. What can i do?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If this does not resolve the issue, take the device to Apple for an Out of Warranty replacement.

One of my teachers came to me for help today. Her iPad 2 works fine except for one thing. The display won't turn on. My HP Pavillion dv4 has a black screen and blinking Caps and Num lock

BEFORE anyone says to take out everything and press the start button for however many seconds, i've tried that. I've also tryed counting blinks, but there seems to be no pause in blinks, thus continuous blinking.
SO, recently i have updated my laptop, i let it shut off but i did not choose for it to restart. Today when i tried to turn it on, the screen was black, did not turn on and the caps lock and the num lock have been blinking continuosly, without pattern. The touch screen volume and such is also on and after a few seconds the fan turns on. There is no loud beep, just the regular startup soft beep. So, i would like to know, if anyone knows what i can do, before i have to go and pay to fix this thing.

i have took it to the apple store, i am out of warranty and they said it is a hardware problem, god knows whats causing the black screen it is fine when on as i got it fixed at a local phone shop but when the phone dies then there is no bringing it back to life.

So I left my computer downloading a game overnight. I set the setting where, when you shut your screen nothing happens. I told it to never sleep so I wouldn't sleep and stop downloading. When I got up to check on it, the screen would only pop up for the log in user menu. Then once I got into the desktop, the screen would slowly fade until it was just black. My mouse was the last thing to go. All the lights on the keyboard are working, it's just the screen. Oh and when I get into the desktop I can see for a second and it looks like the old windows. I grasp you left your notebook downloading a game and when you came back you were at a log on screen.Once you log on and go to your desktop, the screen fades to being blank or black. Your mouse was the last thing to go and all the lights are lit on the keyboard. When you got to the desktop it had the old look.
First I would boot into Safe Mode and do a restore back to before you downloaded the game. Entering Safe Mode
Run the HP Support Assistant to make sure all your drivers are up to date.
Did you check to ensure that your notebook meets the minimum requirements of the game?

I have an IPhone 3Gs and the IOS 6 locked up my phone 100% whats my next move? wont turn on just the apple and download bar or black screen thats my only options at this point? HELP!

I downloaded the new IOS 6 on my IPhone 3Gs as it prompted me to do so. so that took 45 mins then told me to connect to Itunes in which i did, then it took 39 mins for itunes to "restore" my phone and after the 39 mins it told me Apple unable to restore IPhone and shut me out. Hey, I'm new to MAC's and apple etc, I mostly use PC's and such but had to get a MAC for work purposes. Up to now it has been great and I can see why they are brill machines but last night when it wasn't even switched on the fan started up and now I can't even turn the Mini on. The only way to stop the fan (which sounds like a hair dryer - the only way I can describe it) is to unplug it at the mains. I'm worried that someone is going to tell me its bust and will cost a small fortune to repair but hey I gotta know.

I came home after a long business trip to find that my computer was unplugged by my wife. After plugging it back in, fan on high, and no LED light.
I was quoted 500-600 to get it fixed. I bought the darn thing for only $450.

Could be a problem with the LCD or it's cable, this seems like a hardware fault. I would go to the Apple store before its to late and before you run out of warranty (you get a 1 year warranty) There no way of fixing this without opening the computer which would void the warranty. If you have ran out of warranty i would go on eBay and look for a inverter, the cable or possibly the LCD apple would be able to tell you what it is without you having warranty and try the repair yourself or you could pay Apples overpriced repair.

Your HD may be crashed, so you probably should use the oringinal install discs to run Apple Hardware Test in extended mode. If error codes appear this confirms a hardware failure. In addition you cannnot repair the HD using Disk Utility from the startup disk, you have to use the origninal Install discs that shipped with the computer or the most up-to-date version of OS X on a disc that you have.
