My HP Photosmart C4580 won't connect to my computer via WiFi!

I'm running a mac OS X 6. I updated the driver for the printer, restored the printer's wireless network defaults. When I run the set-up assistant, I attempt to "configure [my] device for a wireless network." A box pops up: "Device not connected. To configure the network settings of the selected device, please connect it temporarily via USB. The device can be disconnected from the USB once the network settings are transferred." But my computer is connected via USB.  Also, the setup assistant isn't listing my wifi network. I manually enter my wifi network, hit connect, but the same "device not connected" box pops up.
My Wireless Network Test Report lists an old Network Name (SSID), where I was when I first bought this printer, the last time it worked via WiFi.
what do I do to make this thing connect via this new WiFi network?

Make sure you follow the instructions exactly.  You should not have the USB connected to the printer until you are told to do so.  Now try.

    Hello Rattisate,
Sorry to hear you are not able to connect to Wi-Fi on your MacBook Pro.  I would be concerned about this too.  You can find information on how to troubleshoot this in the following article:
Troubleshooting Wi-Fi issues in OS X Lion and Mac OS X v10.6

Follow the steps in the section labeled, "Symptom: My Mac does not connect to the Internet."

my ipad 2 and iphone 4S won't connect to app store via wifi but will connect via 3g - both are running 6.0.1 - I have tired several wifi networks but same result.

    Hi LandJ1980,
I would recommend first trying these steps:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

If that does not work, this article has some additional ideas to try, even though you are only seeing this with the App Store:

  • IPod Touch 4th Gen won't connect to my computer, charge or connect to iTunes.

Okay, here is the issue. My computer runs Windows Vista. Ever since I have updated iTunes to 11.0.2, my iPod touch hasn't been able to connect to the computer at all. I don't know if there is any correlation between the update and my issue, but I need someone to be the judge of that. Apple has suggested that you uninstall iTunes, QuickTime, etc. restart the computer and then reinstall them. So I have done that multiple times, and my iPod still won't connect to the computer. My sister's iPod touch, 4th gen just like mine won't connect to iTunes or the computer either. I have spent a lot of time looking up possible solutions, but none of them work at all. I've done everything Apple suggests in troubleshooting and such, but nothing works. I was hoping someone else might be able to give me a solution. One that hopefully does not involve uninstalling and reinstalling Apples programs, which I have done several times.
I have tried all accessable USB ports on my computer, and I have switched between the four different USB cords that we have, so this isn't the issue. My PS Vita will connect to the computer with no issue at all, so it isn't the USB ports either. I can plug my iPod Touch into my PS3 and it will charge the instant I plug either end of the cable in, the same for my sister's. I can plug it into the dock on my mother's alarm clock and it will charge just fine. I'm open to any suggestion, so please help me out here.

    So you tried everything here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
Try connecting to another computer to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem.

  • Ipod stuck in lock mode and won't connect to Windows computer

My Ipod is stuck on the lock position and won't connect to my computer when I plug it in. The hold switch moves back and forth just fine and it was working perfectly yesterday. It's the classic nano that's square. It's stuck on a song that I used as my alarm yesterday morning. I haven't turned it on since then and when I pushed the on switch, it went to the screen but then wouldn't do anything else. I've tried to hold down the menu and middle button while moving the hold switch, but it didn't work. Please help!

I fixed it! I had to switch the hold button from on to off to on again and then held the menu and middle button down at the same time. It works just fine now!

  • IPod won't connect to iTunes/Computer

Soo I plug my iPod into the cord which is plugged into the computer, the computer makes the little beep that lets me know its detected a device and... Nothing. It doesn't show up in iTunes. It doesn't show the little charging symbol on the iPod. Nothing.
I've tried two different cords and three different USB ports. The annoying thing is it worked two days ago, and had been working prior to that for several months. Nothing has happened to the iPod or computer that would cause damage. They've both literally been sitting in this room for two days. I can plug my iPod into the wall charger and it will charge just fine. It can connect to the internet, etc. But it won't connect itself to iTunes via the USB cable... and I'm unsure of what to do next. I've googled around and checked the forums but I haven't found anything that works.
    Assistance :3
Also, I can't download iOS 6.1.2, it just fails everytime after the verification process. I've never failed verification before so I'm not sure if this is a widespread issue or just me... The error I guess you would call it says "Software Update is not available at this time. Try again later."

  • Apple tv won't connect to my computer

I just got ATV2 for my husband for his birthday. It connects to his computer just fine, and initally connected to my computer (we both have macs), but now it won't connect to my computer. I have updated my software, turned on home-sharing, etc, but it still won't connect! Any ideas??
    Thanks!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Check you are using the same homesharing ID and password as your husband.
Check your firewall is allowing access for iTunes.
Check your computer is on the same network as the Apple TV.

  • Ipod won't connect to the computer at all.

My 3rd Generation iPod nano won't connect to the computer at all. Therefore it has no battery for me too be able to reset or try to do anything with it.
I've only been advised to make sure that i have the most recent version of iTunes?
    Could anyone help please?
    Thanks, Hollie.

    Try uninstalling the drivers,
    Plug in your iPod
Right click on My Computer and click on Manage
that will bring you to the Computer Management
On the left hand side click on device manager
on the right side click on the plus sign next to Universal Serial Bus Controllers
it will show a list, in that list locate iPod or USB mass storage device
    right click and select uninstall
Unplug your iPod and plug it back in
Windows should automatically start installing them again
if nothing pops up then right click on Universal Serial Bus Controllers
and choose scan for hardware changes
    If that doesn't work
    Go back into Computer Management
Click on Disk Management on the right
and on the left it should say your iPod
Right click and go into change drive letter and paths
    click on the change button
Change it to something like N or M
Click ok, you will get a message saying "changing the drive letter may cause the program to no longer run are you sure you want to change this drive letter"
    click ok
    then restart your computer

  • IPod Won't Connect to PC Computer

I have had some issues I wasn't able to fix concerning my iPod Classic and my PC computer. Until recently, my iPod 120G Classic would not connect to my computer. I have downloaded the most recent version of iTunes, I've tried resetting it, and I've restarted my computer a couple times. I cannot restore it cause it won't connect to my computer. I've tried Disk Mode as well as changing USB ports. This didn't work. What happens is that it says USB not readable or something similar to that on the connection for half a second than disappears. This has been occuring ever since I synced a movie to my Classic. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Hi, my ipod (2nd gen) won't connect to the internet via Safari or through apps but my email does work.  Any ideas without needing to reset the ipod?

    - Have you tried when connected to other networks?  Maybe the router is blocking the ports used by Safari and the other apps.
    - What kind of network are you using? a personel or bussines?

  • Ipod shuffle second generation won't connect to my computer

I'm operating on Window 8.1 and my iPod Shuffle 2nd Gen won't connect to my computer. My USB port and cord are working because it does make the connection noise when I plug it in but it does not show up in My Comptuer or in My Devices on iTunes. This is the second iPod Shuffle 2nd Gen I've had this issue with.

If you have not already, as a test, shut down (power off) your computer and disconnect all USB devices (including any hub).  You can leave standard keyboard/mouse connected, if used.  If it's a laptop, connect its power adapter so that it's not running on battery power.  If the shuffle's power switch is ON, put it in the OFF position.  Power up the computer, run iTunes, and connect shuffle to a direct USB port on the computer, by itself.  This is a test for possible interference between connected USB devices.  Any difference?
If that does not help (or you already tried), does your computer have USB 3.0 ports (instead of 2.0).  If so, and if you happen to have an older USB 2.0 hub that is powered (has its own power supply), try connecting the hub to your computer and your shuffle to the hub.

  • My iPhone won't connect with my computer or charge. How can I fix this?

My iPhone won't connect with my computer. It also will not charge. I changed the white charging cord, but I have the same problem. I connected other devices to the USB and they work. It's strictly the iPhone.
    How can I correct this?

I forgot to mention, the iPhone does charge via wall plug.
