My HP psc 1210 all-in-one, suddenly stopped printing any text. it will print the graphics.

I believe I have tried everything. The HP psc 1210 series all-in-one refusses to print text. nor will it scan or copy. I have done all the troubeshooting that I can find. Still will not print from PC or copy. I think it will scan to the computer. Icon with gray circle around it, states it is offline, yet from the control panel, printer and faxes, shows it as being online and ready. What else can I do to remedy this problem? Thank you in advance.

There may be 2 separate issues here.
-For the offline portion, check this document out:
Printer is offline
-For just printing graphics, this would make me think that the Black cartridge is empty/low on ink/malfunctioning. Try printing a black and white picture. That would let you know if it is the cartridge or not.

  • HP psc 1210 all-in-one printer and Mac OS 10.9 (Mavericks)

I just installed the new OS X (Mavericks) on my mac yesterday, and now my printer, an old but reliable HP psc 1210 all-in-one, will not install.  I was previously running OS 10.6 (Snow Leopord) and had no problems with the printer.  Is there anything I can do to install my printer on the new OS?  My computer doesn't even recognize that there is a printer connected via USB when I try to install it... is there anything I can do?

    Hi there,
I understand you're looking for drivers for your PSC 1210 on Windows 7. I will certainly do my best to guide you in this issue.
At this time there are no HP drivers available for this printer for Windows 7. You can still use the printer with Windows 7, you will just have to use the drivers available within Windows 7. That document will walk you through what you need to do in order to get printing again, and will also show you how to scan with this Windows driver.
Hope this helps, have a great day!!

  • HP PSC 1210 all-in-one pen failure issue

I have an hp psc 1210 all-in-one printer and recently replaced both print cartridges.  Then, when I went to print it said that i had a pen failure.  I then discovered online that this could be because of dirty cartridge contacts, so I cleaned them as instructed.  After allowing them time to dry, I returned them to the printer and plugged it back in.  However, now the printer will not turn on at all.  What is wrong with my printer?

    Hi,
What application you are scanning from? is it Paint or Windows fax and scan?
Can you see the same behavior while using any of those options?

  • Why am I all of a sudden not receiving any texting videos or pictures?

Why am I all of a sudden not receiving any texting pictures or videos?

No, I don't work for Apple. I've been in IT for over 20 years including telecom and consulting.
I'm on AT&T. The problem is not universal or even necessarily widespread on AT&T. If you're having issues, it is not a system wide problem. There can be interchange problems between networks from time to time and there can be problems within the AT&T network. If you have a phone, iPhone or otherwise that works today, there is no reason it shouldn't work next week if you don't make changes to it. The only reasons it wouldn't would be a hardware or software failure on the handset or problems on the carrier side. If there is 1 person with a problem. It's the handset. If there are 10... depends on the sample size.  If there are 100, then you can bet your boots it's the carrier.
I've worked with AT&T a LOT during my career. Believe me, if you don't know the tricks, the person you get on the phone when you call about a problem like this has absolutely no idea what is wrong or if there is even a problem to begin with. Their sole purpose in life is to give you the warm fuzzies and make you go away.

  • Hp psc 1210 all in one printer feeding error

I have a model 1210 all in one printer and it will not feed paper. it sounds like something its working, but not gripping the paper. PLEASE ADVISE

Hello @anne0701 , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I can see you're experiencing paper feed issues.  I would like to help!
I would recommend performing a  power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also suggest following the steps in this video on PSC feed issues:

  • Installing software for my HP psc 1210 all-in-one printer on to my Mac?

I have downloaded new software and drivers for my all-in-one printer. I am running OS X 10.5.2 on a 20" 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. The computer recognises that a printer is present and I can print with no problems. The problem that I'm having is with the scanner function. I don't think that the HP software is registering that there is a printer present. When I go into the HP setup assistant no printer comes up in the selection window. When I go into Printer & Fax via system preferences the HP psc 1210 series comes up as the default printer. I've had this problems before but cannot remember how I rectified it. I'm sure it got something to do with erasing the driver's off the computer and starting over again. Can anyone please help me or point me in the right direction. Thanks

    Hey folks,

I have done several things - i have downloaded and updated all printer software and drivers, i have ran all printer calibrations and cleaning programs, i have accessed Macbook utilities folder and ran all colorsync utility's such as repair and adjust hue. What is going on here? I am completely stumped with this one.

  • HP psc 1210 all in one - software update help

    Hello
I bought a new Dell laptop . Windows 8.1, 64 bit. The software with my 10 year old all in one is not compatible. I do not understand drivers and software needs. Do I need both updated?  How do I proceed? Thank you, Tom

    Hello,
All you have to do is to connec the printer to the Windows 8.1 PC and the in-OS driver will be installed.
There is no fullfeature driver software available for Win 8.1 PC.

  • PSC 1210 All in One and Windows 7 64 bit

Will Vista 64 drivers work for PSC 1210 on WIndows 7 64 bit?

    Avin wrote:

The PSC 1210 drivers are available from Windows Update, see here.  You can go to the Printers folder, Add Printer, Local Printer, LPT1:, Windows Update.  It will take a few minutes to load the updated set of drivers.  When the updated list appears cancel the installation, then connect the USB for the PSC 1210 and it should automatically install.
If you do not have a high speed internet connection the Windows Update process may be prohibitively slow.  In this case you can use the Microsoft Catalog Site to select just the drivers you need.  Unfortunately it can be difficult to find the specific drivers as there is no apparent way to search for the x64 drivers automatically, you will need to click on the titles and read the description to see what architecture the particular driver supports.  The Microsoft Catalog site requires IE, it does not work with other browsers.

  • HP PSC 1507 All-in-One - Scanner stopped working

    Hi
I'm on a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard (10.6.8) and use VueScan (9.1.16) to scan through USB connection.
For several years, no problems, always worked.
No all of the sudden it stops working.
    It scans jitter (black/grey/white dots).
Anythings I can fix or look at to see what's the problem?
    Thanks
    Dee

Hello Dee! aka @KunoichiDee, welcome to the forums
I read about how your scans are now showing up in bad quality, when scanning to your Mac. I have some ideas that might help.
First of all, we want to know if the problem is with the printer, or with the software. Make a copy from the printer itself to test the printer. If the copies have the same issue as the scans, the issue is with the printer, and I would recommend a power reset and ensure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help greatly.
    Power reset:
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
If the copies turn out fine, and the problem is only when you scan, try these steps:
Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system (This will delete all printers on your Mac)
    Repair disk permissions
    Restart your Mac
Re-add the printer (do not use the AirPrint driver)
Let me know the results! Good luck & enjoy your weekend

  • Printing to network HP PSC 1210 All-in-one

Hello. I would greatly appreciate any help I could get with my dilemma.
I'm trying to print from my macbook to a network PC. I've set up the printer on my MacBook successfully and configured the printer on the PC so that it will allow sharing for the printer. When I print a document from my macbook, it is sent to the PC, but gets stopped there.
A box on the PC "Printers Folder" reports an error. It says "There was an error found when printing the document "Remote Downlevel Document" to USB001. Do you want to retry or cancel the job?
When I click "Retry" it just flashes the same box again. When I click "Cancel", the print job is removed from the PC's print job queue.
Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? Thanks in advance.
    -Kevin

HP's printer drivers for non-postscript printers are written to use USB only - you'll need to use a third-party driver like Gimp-Print - now called Gutenprint. Get the latest Gutenprint version here:
