My htc one M8 is now useless!
Thanks to your update my phone is garbage!! Someone please tell me how to get lollypop off my phone, can't take pictures in time,battery dies when I walk my dogs! Pages won't load. I now hate my phone, and hate Verizon for putting that update pop up on my phone until I stupidly did it! I either want a new phone, lollypop off this one or cancel my plan with NO penalty..what good is a semi working smart phone who's battery doesn't even let me take my dogs to the beach*
It said New VERIZON update..not HTC update..and YES, I can get out of the contract legally if my smart phone isn't able to do what I purchased/promised it to do.As it was it was no better than an old school flip phone that kept crashing. I did contact VERIZON and they had me do a total back up and reboot of the phone, it seems to be better now, but not back to what it was when I bought it.I will give it a few more days and if things don't improve, the legal battle is on if they don't either replace my phone or end my contract that I am in. I am just trying to warn everyone do NOT update to this all day sucker lollypop!

I think I had an old itunes id. When I go to Itunes on my program list all of my music comes up, there are probably a hundred or two songs. But it never let me burn them to anything other than my Ipod. I changed my password so now when I pull up my account there is no music. Can anyone tell me how to find my old account and then copy that music to my HTC One.?

Media is not burned to iDevices. Burning an iDevice would destroy it.
Why will iTunes not allow you to sync media to the iDevice? What happens when trying to sync media to an iDevice?

What does this have to do with iTunes?
One does not pull up an account to access their media, they simply launch iTunes.
Changing a password has nothing to do with accessing the media on the computer when one launches iTunes.
What is the actual issue that is occurring?

iTunes has nothing to do with putting media on a non-Apple device. -
I had to perform a Master Reset on my HTC One while trying to work through an issue. This was done with a Verizon rep on the phone and we performed a backup using backup assistant. Now I am not able to restore my contacts because I do not have a "restore" soft button when I open the backup assistant app. How do I restore my contacts?
Have you updated the dreaded Backup Assistant program? I think you need to do this first before you can restore.

I have transferred my phone service to HTC one and now I cannot receive messages on my phone just on my iPad.
1. Messages on the iPad can only be sent to other iDevices and Mac Computers running Mountain Lion.
2. They must also be registered with iMessage

So, I experience the faint ringing with the first htc one...it also had terrible network connection problems. It had worse reception than my 3 year old Droid X. I took it in, they told me to do a factory reset and bring it back within 30 days if it happened again...it did. I got a replacement and this one has terrible built quality. The white middle section is slightly off making it higher than the metal section on the top. This also makes it so the button is flush with the top, making it difficult to push. The metal hangs over the white section on the bottom making a sharp edge. The glass also sits higher than the metal making both the top and the bottom edges sharp. The sound that comes from the headphone jack is also quite different from the first. It's extremely bass heavy and muddy even with "beats" turned off. Turning "Beats Audio" on makes it completely unacceptable.
I've had the replacement for 2 days (it's day 30 since the original). They are now saying I'll have to use insurance for a refurbished replacement. So, I paid full price, have had two defective units and now my only choice is to get a used one. What kind of garbage system is this.Why did you even except the second phone with all the imperfections you listed. From what it sounds like a used one would probably be in better shape than the two you got, Anything returned after the free return period is replaced with a used phone, which so states in the contract you signed.

The Battery Saver Extreme for the new HTC One Mi8 was announced by both Verizon and HTC, yet it is still not available on Verizon, has been on Sprint phones for over two weeks. According to HTC , Verizon has simply not released the necessary software update.
Not at all good public relations when many people bought this phone with this feature being one of main reasons for the purchase !And a disabled download booster also. And the FM Radio is disabled. Just google for research.
T-Mobile has the options. from what I am reading.

Defective HTC One and TERRIBLE Service from Verizon
Monday evening my phone stopped charging and started going into car mode whenever I plugged the phone in. It was getting close to closing time so I headed over to a local Verizon store. I was in Boston and away from my awesome independently owned Verizon store so of course I proceeded to wait for 25 minutes for someone to help me. Eventually someone helped me and he was actually quite helpful. He did a soft reset and the phone seemed okay. He told me that if I had the issue again to just call up and they'd ship me a warranty replacement. Two days later the phone began going into dock mode and the screen was flickering between dock mode and whatever I was trying to do. I headed over to the same Verizon store because I was unable to call the warranty center on my defective device. When I got there, after waiting yet again, I dealt with an extremely rude and exceptionally useless employee. I told him that I was there because I was unable to call Verizon on my phone yet after he couldn't go through the warranty process on his ipad because the HTC One is 'too new' he handed me a phone number(which I already had) and said there was nothing more he could do for me. Frustrated I left to call Verizon. Luckily my phone felt like working now and the employee I dealt with insisted I do a hard reset before they send me a warranty replacement even though everyone else had ensured me it'd be an easy process. Eventually I was able to do the reset later that day and the phone was okay for a day, but then the issues reappeared. Last night I called Verizon and they told me that I won't receive my replacement until MONDAY. My phone is on my family's family plan, but I'm honestly considering leaving Verizon personally after this and hopefully I'll be able to sway them as well. We've been Verizon Wireless customers for 10+ years as well as FIOS and business customers for a long time and Verizon's handling of this situation was beyond poor. To make matters worse, now that I'll be waiting four days over the weekend for a replacement, the One seems to be getting worse - this morning it took a three soft resets, one hard reset, and two more soft resets to get it to charge. Good luck with this phone guys.
Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you.

TS1363 My HTC One no longer connects to Itunes whereas it did previously - any suggestions?
I have previously been able to sync HTC One with iTunes, but it now doesn't appear in the devices list. Any ideas why this is so?
iTunes only syncs with iOS devices.
There is no support for syncing to any Android device. -
Here's the situation...
I have an Android HTC One M8 phone which I connect via USB cable to my PC, then I use Windows Explorer to drag and drop an AVI file from my PC onto a target folder on the phone. When I would do this after I had first purchased my phone a message box
would come up with the heading "Convert and Copy" and ask me "Do you want to convert <filename> before it's copied to your device?" and give me the options "Yes, convert and copy (recommended)" or "No, just
copy Your file will be copied, but might not play on your device."
If I chose to convert it converted the file to MP4. No problem, that's what I wanted.
The problem I now have is that after doing some work with other video applications a while ago where I was outputting WMV files I now find that the default conversion for the above described copy from PC to Android phone now converts files to WMV.
I simply want it to go back to converting video files copied to my phone as MP4, but I can't seem to find where I can set this!
It appears that the copy/conversion process in Explorer is being handled in the "Portable Devices Shell Extension" dll - WPDSHEXT.DLL
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to set the default video conversion back to MP4 ???

How do I get my text messages from my android fascinate to my htc one m8 windows phone....???
just purchased and received the new htc one...was using a samsung galaxy s for a few months before my contract ran out...my original nokia lumia 920 died and I reactivated the galaxy....now I have the text messages from october and earlier but I can't seem to get the 3 months of text messages that are on the android.....there is no cloud or transfer app (by verizon) for the new phone...only the old galaxy has the apps...go figure, I could get the app for my old phone but not the new phone...lol
BillTransfer My Data doesn't work to grab them from your Android phone? That bites... I thought that was a fairly new app for Windows Phone that was supposed to make it easier. I had to take old texts and paste them into Word to upgrade from Windows 7.8 to Windows 8. Tedious, but when you gotta save em... Shoot, there was one conversation that was so long, I just broke out the video camera and started scrolling them on the phone so I could get them later. Yea, I was that intent on getting them.

Recently started not receiving texts from one person - AT&T user, also HTC One
I recently started not receiving texts from one person. He also has an HTC One (older model) but has AT&T as his provider. We were texting back and forth last Friday morning (11/8) and then he called me and ever since then I have not received a single text he has sent. He is receiving all of mine and we can receive phone calls back and forth, but his text messages are not coming through. We have both tried restarting our phones and I have also tried deleting him as a contact and recreating it however nothing works. I checked to make sure he was not blocked (which I knew wasn't the case since I could receive phone calls from him as well), and even tried turning the "block contact" on and back off. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated. Right now we are using work arounds with google-talk and facebook messenger but it's very frustrated for me to not receive any of the texts that his phone is saying I am receiving.
It had started sporadically over the past few weeks where I would miss a text from him every once in awhile, but now I am receiving nothing. He is the only one that I am having this issue with as I have texted back and forth with multiple others the past few days with no issues.

We had been able to send & receive phone calls & texts until mid-November. Now, we can both give & receive phone calls from each other and she receives my texts, however, I DON"T receive hers. In fact, if I'm in a group text message with her, I don't receive any of the texts that include her, even though I can give/receive texts individually from the others in the group message. The other two in the group message CAN receive both her texts & mine. This is so strange - I was left out of a whole thread of text messages & none of us knew it. They thought they were including me (nothing bounced back) & I didn't know I wasn't receiving them. Since her texting works with both of the others, I'm concluding the problem must be with my phone. Do I have an incorrect setting? I'm not sure what could have happened. PLEASE help!

My AT&T HTC One M7 showing up as International after root.
I just got this phone yesterday. It wan't working right so I rooted it to fix the problems. I used Windroid to unlocked Booter, Flashed Recovery with TRWP, and Rooted with SuperSU.I installed custom kernal "ElementalX" and whenever I installed "MaximusHD" it says my phone is a International HTC One. Is it safe to use my USA AT&T Sims Card in this phone? Did I miss something up? or does it read as International after unlocking it? Will I get charged anything for using my Sims Card in this phone?

Not sure where OP is seeing "international", but Maximus is a international (Euro) based ROM and that is likely where its coming from. This doesn't affect your AT&T SIM usage. I've been using a few different Euro based ROMs on my M8 for a few months now, with no issues.
I was just making sure he didnt install something that changed his CID. Hence why I said he was fine in my first post. All my htc phones are SUPER CID. Like say a GPE rom which are more of a pain to install... -
i have a 64gb sc card that i got just for my htc one (m8). card worked great and now all the sudden after i took pictures of my daughter getting married it now says the card is unmounted and unreadable. the card never got took out of the phone. what can i do to get the pictures back? any ideas.
This is what I'd suggest as well if you have not Formatted the card pull the card install it in a Reader and pull your pictures off onto your computer then once that is completed reinstall your card into your phone Format it see if will then allow your to take pictures and store, if it won't then the card has went bad..
Just for the asking what kind of Card is it.? Sandisk, or Another.. The card should have Limited lifetime Warranty you might call the Manufacture see if they'll replace it for you..

HTC One M8: Notification Light
I just got the HTC One M8 two days ago and I just realized that the LED notification light is not working when I receive messages, emails, etc. It only works when charging.
HELP!I found the solution on another forum (may have been mentioned here too) I had to do a factory reset on my phone and did not restore my applications/sign into Google. Sure enough, the notification light starting working. I am now downloading my apps again...unfortunately they do not restore after you complete the setup wizard then sign into Google so I am having to search and download each app one at a time.
Prior to the reset, I did disable Verizon Messages and cleared all the data/cache, confirmed the system messaging app was the default and confirmed the all notifications were checked under display and gestures but it still did not work.
I am also reading in other forums HTC is aware of this issue so hopefully it can be fixed without a reset. -
When will the Verizon HTC One (M8) finally get the Extreme Power Saving Mode software update?
Other carriers (AT&T, Sprint) already have it, but Verizon is taking forever apparently.
When will Verizon customers be able to download and use this new mode?
Thanks!I recently bought an HTC One m8 from Verizon, and like many other customers the Extreme Power-saving Feature was one of my keys factors to deciding to buy. I was very disappointed to learn after the fact that Verizon had not included, and has no intention to include the feature in the future. (Mentioned in other threads in the forum). I've read the argument made that Verizon never advertised the feature and never said it would be included with their version of the phone, but they also never went out of the way to warn perspective buyers that the feature, which is part of the m8 phone on other carriers and marketed by HTC as a part of their phone wouldn't be included. When people are researching phones before they decide what to get they read what features the manufacturer(s) have designed and implemented in those phones, not search to find all the things the carrier may have stripped from the phone.
It's impractical and offensive to tell a customer that its his/her responsibility every time they buy a phone from them to dig deep into website forums and look for what they decided to remove from it that the manufacturer had built, and advertised to be in their phone. This is the type of thing that is bad PR for Verizon, and something that will make customers go to other carriers. I don't want to offend some of the nice Verizon employees who want to help their customers and simply don't have the power to correct the issue themselves, but its in Verizon's best interest to either fix their network to work with this feature, or find/hire someone else who will. Doing it soon before the issue escalates and news of Verizon's statement to do nothing to correct the issue for their HTC One m8 customers spreads like wildfire and burns them.
I hope someone at Verizon doesn't let the rest of the company go on ignoring the issue and steps up to find a way to enable Extreme Power Saving Mode on the Verizon Network. Right now the impression many people have is something along the lines of: now that you've bought a phone from us, and signed up for a contract with us we don't care what you want and think.
In the meantime it would be a good idea to enable the option in the phone with a popup message when enabled that reads something along the lines of: Verizon has concluded that in some cases Extreme Power Saving Mode can cause network issues. If you experience network issues please disable extreme power saving mode and return to one of the other power modes. Verizon will continue to research the issue, and will institute a fix if/when a solution is found.
