My I Pad won't charge.

My I pad won't charge on the adapter or computer. its second gen and it's two months old. I have restarted it and everything.

Do you know anybody else with an iPad so that you can try their charger and cable, and they can try yours, so as to try to work out whether it's a charger or cable problem ?

My I pad won't charge I've plugged it into both wall and computer the battery symbol won't even come up it just stays blank and I no I didn't break it

    Which model? The original iPad?
Have you tried another cable/connector? Another power adapter? Don't use the computer at all to charge it. That is the least effective way to charge the battery.
Try resetting your iPad and see if that helps.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • My i pad won't charge, I plug in and it comes up with 'not charging' in the corner???

Yes so when I plug my charger into I pad a message comes up in the corner were the charge bar is with 'not charging' I have rebooted it, problem still occurs!!

    1. Clean docking port with clean tooth brush
    2. Try another wall socket
    3. Try another cable (make sure it's an original Apple cable)
    4. Try another charger (make sure it's an original Apple charger)

  • Touch pad won't charge

I'm trying to charge my touch pad but all I'm getting is a white light flashing back in forth in the home button.  Do I need a new charging usb and plug?

Sounds like the WebOS HP Touch Pad. This is what it looks like: HP TouchPad - Wikipedia.  The WebOS line is no longer supported by HP so we don't have replacement batteries available. It could be the battery but it could also be the power connector on the mother board, which may not be worth replacing. I'm sure you will be able to find information on replacement batteries or power connectors online but I cannot provide you with third party part sources.  It might be best to replace it at this point.  Thanks.

    Hi Eileen,
With iOS 7, the devices have become more sensitive to the type of cable that is being used to charge the device. I have found that with my iPhone 4, once I upgraded to iOS 7, it became a little more sensitive to even my iPad charger. It doesn't always recognize it if I just plug it in, but if I slide it in slowly until I hear the charging tone, then I can push it the rest of the way in, and everything works as it should.
Any chance the cable is bent or frayed? How long have you had the device and cable? If it is under a year old, take it into the Apple Store (device and cable) so you can show them what is happening. They should replace your cable.
    Cheers,

My i-Pad won't charge after I downloaded some stuff from i-Tunes.  I have tried charging through two computers and using the wall socket,, with different cables.  I have turned the i-Pad off & on a couple of times but it still won't charge.  Any ideas will be gratefully received.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • I charge my I shuffle using USB charger for my I pad, now it won't charge but it will charge a different I shuffle

i cannot charge I shuffle, I use USB Port from I pad , I can charge another I shuffle, but not this one any more

    Start by reading through http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2634
Are the charger nd cable original Apple parts or third-party?  There have been a lot of problems ith third party cables and chargers since iOS 7 - checks for compatibility with Apple specs.
Try another charger and cable to see if that makes a difference.

  • HT4060 My original I pad is not charging, there is a not charging sign by top battery indicator, what could be the problem?

Why my original I pad has a sign ... Not charging?

Since it's an iPad 1, the battery may not take a charge anymore.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
And this - Unplug the charger from the iPad and then replug. May resume charging.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.

  • IPhone 5 connected but won't charge

So i have a iPhone 5 that connects when I plug in the lighting cable but it won't charge sometimes. I already cleaned out the port on the phone with a dry toothbrush, please help. I've tried a lot of things and if there isn't a solution i'll just buy another battery.

    Hi there jesseeb123,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below if you are unable to charge your device.

  • My 4th gen iPod Touch won't charge

    Hi, folks:
Suddenly, my 4th generation iPod Touch won't charge. I don't mean it won't hold a charge; I mean it WON'T charge. There's no (peep!) when I attach it to a Mac, a Windows box, or to the wall. I've tried not only at my place but at my doctor's office, too, on his computer. Rats.
It fell three feet onto a concrete floor a week before this happened, so I'm unsure of cause/effect there. However, chances are most excellent that I touched it while filled with static electicity (my bed is exceedingly staticky). Maybe I touched the charging port? I have no idea, but I kinda sorta have a memory of having gotten a shock while touching my pod and wondering whether that was bad.
It'll be a couple more days before I can get to a Genius Bar (but thank cow I'm in New York City and have my pick of them!). In the meantime, can anyone calm me down about my situation? Do you imagine it's doomed (it IS still operable provided I keep it plugged in, though iTunes can't see it since it won't mount), or do you spose the installation of a new battery might bring my precious baby back to me? It IS freshly backed up (again, thank cow!), but I'm not in a position to buy a new one right now, and unfortunately, I don't know what to do with my eyeballs without a Touch in front of them.
Oh, how I hope someone can tell me that this has happened to him, and an Apple Genius merely did something magical and handed it back intact and amazing again so Ican cry happy tears. It's been four days and I'm just sick without it (and having to look at this gigantic Mac, with its large and beautiful text in many windows, means I can't RECLINE! WAAAAH!).
Thanks for any soothing words you have, and if you have sad ones, well, I'll vag up and read them, as I've prepared for the worst anyway (sob!). Just please deliver them gently.
    I appreciate it!

Wow, Kevin; that's a tantalizing theory! I don't like it (I *never* like to think about logic board damage for any piece of hardware), but it's tantalizing, as it would explain my pod seemingly charging out of thin air, and it'd also explain why my pod doesn't just DIE altogether from a dead battery.
I feel like an idiot: I have iTunes set to never sync automatically with my pod, so it never automatically recognizes the pod. I'll bet I could sync it if I clicked to "apply," as I've been downloading new apps since 2/21 (the last time I backed the pod up, mere minutes before it failed), but I don't want to risk not having a connection that's 100% and bollixing up what's on the pod now. (I'll be in the hospital for a day and will need something to read the whole time; I'll need an intact pod!)
Thanks for sticking with me, Kevin; I always like figgering things out, and your theory's interesting. I'll mention it to the Genius. It doesn't give me any hope, but not having any hope, I can always be pleasantly surprised, whereas if I go in all hopeful, someone can dash my dreams. This way, I'll prolly just have my expectations met.
I appreciate your talking it out with me a lot!

  • My iphone 5 won't charge :(

My iphone 5 won't charge with the cable I bought, I don't know if its because maybe it isn't an apple product? Can somone please help me! thank you

If you did buy a 3rd party product, that could be a reason. Can you check with an original Apple USB cable?
To ensure the best possible experience, Apple has created special compatibility requirements for accessory manufacturers. Products that are engineered and certified to be compatible have a "Made for" label on their package. To ensure compatibility when purchasing third-party accessories for use with your device, look for accessories that are authorized to use the "Made for" label associated with your device (see below).

My iphone 5 won't charge at all while turned on. I have to turn off my phone in order to charge it. I can't really use my phone now because of the iPhone 5 battery life. I need help!

You are going to have t take that to the apple store . Make a Genius Bar appointment and they will help you. Most likely they will give you a new phone. Hope this helps

  • My iphone 5 won't charge anymore

my iphone 5 won't charge anymore

    Hello Angelpz11,
I recommend this from our iPhone: Hardware Troubleshooting article found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802:
Battery does not charge from the USB power adapter
Important: Only original iPhone can be charged from a FireWire-based power source. If iPhone is connected to a computer that's turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the battery may drain.
Verify that the outlet being used is working.
Try another USB power adapter if available.
If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
Try another USB cable if available.
Also refer to iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery.
    Regards,
    Sterling
