Is this a legally unlocked iPhone? If it is not you will have problems upgrading the iOS, and will most likely make the iPhone unworkable.
Is this a US-based iPhone? If so, the 3gs was only available on the AT&T network. Verizon iPhones did not come out until the iPhone 4.
If it is legally unlocke you should have no re-locking problems.

The 3GS was not sold as an unlocked phone in the US 2 years ago and AT&T did not offer unlocking then.
You bought a hacked phone. The Apple servers can detect the hack and have now disabled activation. Contact AT&T and find out if you qualify to have it unlocked or buy a new legitimately unlocked phone.

If you buy it directly from apple as unlocked yes. I know some places sell "unlocked" phones that lock to the first network you connect them to. Your best bet is to buy directly from apple.

You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.
If the device is wiped by you or another, you may not be able to locate the device (although some have reported they can)
If the device is unable to connect to a cellular or wifi network for whatever reason then all you can do is physically look for it.
You should also change the passwords on any Apple ID's you have in use on the device. If the phone is suspected to have been stolen, report it to the Police (if you have insurance ask for a crime reference number). You should also contact your provider to have your number locked.

Any content is tied to the account that you used to buy/download it - so if you created a new account as opposed to updating the existing one, then you will need to use the old account to download updates to its apps. If you are outside of the US, than you may have a phone that is locked to AT&T and was hacked to make it work on your carrier. If you upgrade a hacked phone, it relocks to the original carrier. If this is the case, nothing you can do, AT&T will not unlock your phone. Search the thousands of threads about unlocking. Jailbreaking and hacking are not topics that can be discussed on this forum.

ITunes 9.2.1 & iPhone 3GS 4.0.1 - can't update software

I currently have iTunes 9.2.1 and when I try to update it it says: "This version of iTunes (9.2.1) is the current version"
When I try to update my iPhone 3GS through iTunes from 4.0.1 it gives the exact same message. "This version of iTunes (9.2.1) is the current version"

Go to the Event Viewer (Control Panel || Administrative Tools || Event Viewer) and look under Windows Logs || Application. Do you see any Bonjour errors? Since Windows 7 recognizes the camera part of the iPhone (nicely done Win7 integration!) Microsoft is probably not the culprit here.
Uninstall/reinstall iTunes is part of the process, but you also have to make sure you uninstall all the other components Apple installs (Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour for Windows, QuickTime), do a reboot, and then install everything from scratch. That may fix the problem.
This is exactly what an Apple guy talked me through over the phone. (I think I even uninstalled Apple Software Updater) I had a similar problem with the iPad on Win7 x64 - it was Bonjour that is the culprit. The x64 flavor of Bonjour for Windows is not as stable as the 32-bit version.
But everything has been golden for me since the reinstall...
Give that a try.
Then if not, you could start looking to see if there is another ZeroConf/SSDP provider that is conflicting with Apple's somehow.

I was unlocked my 6630 from provider "TMN" code 0530435, and i want to update with NSU but that says it's alright updated. My phone says thats firmware V5.03.08 and i know was released V6.*.* What is wrong? What should i do upgrade firmware when i was unlocked from provider?
please help me...

The GENERIC-firmware of the 6630 is updated; this doesn't mean that the Operator-variants, i.e. Vodafone & T-Mobile, updated THEIR firmwares as well . . .
Nokia Software Uploader looks for the Production-Code of your GSM.
With NSU, you can NEVER change your Operator-Firmware to the GENERIC Nokia one!

I lost the original USB cord that came with my phone. I don't have enough available space on my phone to update wirelessly either and no matter how much I delete I still can't seem to free up enough space to update. I don't know what to do? My phone won't connect to any iTunes.

You have two options at this point.
Option 1
1) Buy another cord and attach to itunes (applestore will have them or you can order them online).
2) Find another cord to use.
Option 2
1) Connect your device to a wifi connection and plug device into a power source.
2) Backup your device in icloud using: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766.
3) Erase all content and settings.
4) Setup as a new iphone (and do not restore from backup).
5) Your phone should now be completely blank.
6) software update over wifi.
7) Setup your phone and restore from icloud backup.
8) Gratz your running the latest version.

HT204053 I need to updated my address on my apple account like the insurance on the phone for 2 years where can I update that informations.

I have 3 iphones on my accounts one for my sister that I just upgraded last month. However when I signed up for the insurance the address on my profile is wrong when Apple emailed me for confirmation on that particular phone. I needed to correct that address and just wanted to know how to fix it and where I needed to go to do it or call for that matter.

I have no solution but would like to add to the list of people having problem. Like the poster above, my 3GS was working great with Bluetooth. The phone would automatically connect and resume playing my podcast for my drive to and from work. I absolutely *love* that feature.
Upgraded to iPhone 4S on IOS 5 and now it doesn't connect. It *has* auto connected a few times but mostly it doesn't and I have to re-pair it. I haven't had a problem pairing the two but it's such a pain to have to go through that.
Of course, nothing has changed on the Sync side so it would appear to be a problem with iPhone 4S or IOS 5 or some combination. But then again, maybe Ford's implementation of Bluetooth was not quite up to spec and it happened to work on the old phone but not now. Who knows but it's very frustrating.
