My I Phone 5c is stuck at the silver apple logo and wont boot up. It only displays this well plugged in but when i remove it the screen goes black and the phone wont respond
Try a restore in recovery mode:
If you can't update or restore your iOS device
This will erase all the data currently on the iPhone but if you have been making regular back ups then it will be fine as you can restore from that afterwards.

The steps detailed below can help stabilize your iPhone.
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. Stuck on the startup Apple logo and spinning loading wheel.
I have a power mac g5 with tiger 10.4.11 OS on it. I bought it a year ago second hand and it has been working amazing since then. But about two weeks ago I got that message on screen telling me to resart my computer and then after that I couldn't start my machine up. It kept on getting stuck on the spinning wheel at the start with the apple logo and if I leave it long enough, the apple turns into a no entry sign and the fans start to become very noisie. I have luckly been able to start my Mac up on some occassions so I have backed everything up on an external hard drive. I have also re-installed the operating system on there cause I thought it might have just been a disk error or somehing. Since I've re-installed everything, I haven't putall my applications back on. Only a couple so that I could create this web site. I also remember typing somehing into terminal before this all happened so I have a feeling it might be somehing to do with that but I have no idea what I typed in there but I'm sure it didsomething bad. I'm a bit slow with computers so I may ask for a step by step if I don't understand your solutions sorry. Thank you for your time.

Now, how to fix the problem, which is not getting the following in the verbose output:
localhost kernel[0]: Got boot device = IOService....
If you have not already reset the PRAM and NVRAM memory areas, you should at least do that once before trying the test I describe below.
To reset PRAM, hold down cmd-option-P-R keys at power up (not restart) until you hear the second startup chime.
To reset NVRAM, hold down cmd-option-O-F at power-up to boot into open firmware, which is basically a "dumb terminal" display and type the following two commands:
reset-nvram
reset-all
and see if the boot works from there.
*You may have a failing HD* or the erase-and-install caused a problem. I am not clear about whether you were actually able to boot from the install disk. If that didn't happen, then you should disconnect the HD connectors and see if you can boot from the install disk. If that works fine, then we may be on to something. The fact that this all started with a kernel panic followed by successive boot failure issues and the verbose output hang point make me a little pessimistic about the HD.
One other thought concerns the PRAM battery, since PRAM stores things like the root device selected. If it hasn't been changed in a while, or never, to your memory, then it might be prudent to get a fresh one into the machine. (One way to maybe test this theory is to do an option boot, i.e., holding the option key down at power up and waiting for the boot volume select business to make it to the screen. If your hard drive shows up there and you can select it and successfully boot, then I would definitely replace the battery. Actually, I would change it anyway if it's more than a year or two old. A cheap fix and sometimes helps bizarre situations.) -
I've tried upgrading my iPhone 4S using iTunes 12.01.26 on 4 different computers at home and at the office:
Macbook Air - OS X version 10.7.5
Macbook Pro - OS X Yosemite
2 PCs running Windows 7 Professional
iTunes downloaded the installer and the installation process seemed to get 90% complete before showing the error, "The iPhone, "iPhone" could not be updated. An unknown error occurred (6)."
The phone is now stuck on the red iTunes logo screen:
How can I get it out of this mode?
I've tried holding the power button and home buttons down for ten seconds, then letting go of the power button, but keeping the home button down for another 10 seconds. I've also tried Reiboot, Wondershare Dr. Fone in desperation to try to get the phone out of this mode. Nothing seems to fix it.
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.i do that but it keeps getting stuck on the 'preparing to restore i phone' screen for a few mins before coming up with 'unknown error 1603'.

So I just bought my friends used iPhone 2G. So in the car, on the way home, I reset everything on the phone because his all his stuff was on it. So when I got home it said it was done, and it was stuck on the black screen with the white apple logo. I shut it off thinking it would come back on and go to the slide to unlock screen. Nope. It is still stuck on the black Apple logo screen. Keep in mind, this phone has never been attached to my computer. Please help me. I'm really excited that I bought this. Now I REALLY want to use this.

If you plan on activating the iPhone with AT&T, you need to get a new SIM card from an AT&T corporate store.
When connecting the iPhone to iTunes for the first time with the new SIM card inserted, you should be prompted with the AT&T activation process.
If you don't plan on activating the iPhone with AT&T, did your friend include the no longer activated SIM card inserted in the iPhone - the SIM card that was used with the iPhone when it was activated with AT&T? If so, you can restore the iPhone with iTunes on your computer as a new iPhone. Activation with AT&T will not be required, but the no longer activated SIM card (the SIM card that was used with the iPhone when it was activated with AT&T) must be inserted in the iPhone to complete the restore with iTunes process. -
I cannot use the password to update apps on my second IPhone. It only works on one of the phones. They both have the same Apple ID and password.
If it really does not work, change your password here https://appleid.apple.com (Manage account) and try to add the account again. I hope it helps.

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My late 2009 27" iMac gets stuck on the grey Apple logo when booting up. It boots correctly when in safe mode. I have tried erasing the HD and re-installing from a USB installer. It says the install is complete, but after restarting it gets stuck on the Apple logo again. This could possibly be an HD failure, but then why does Safe Mode still work and the USB install not work? Any ideas?
1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off merely by the seeming complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the behest of a stranger. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.

4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
5. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
6. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with "Model Identifier." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

I have reset all my settings and content of my iphone 3GS but for the last 3 hrs I am stuck at the apple logo and after sometimes its getting off and on by itself but what is coming back is the same apple logo and nothing else is happening. pls advice.

My little brother stole my iPod touch and when I got it back I tried to turn it on and it goes to the apple logo, which its usual, then it gets stuck on a Playboy bunny logo and won't go away.
connect it in recovery mode, then restore from your backup.

When I update the ios on my Iphone 4 it wont turn on and I tried to restore it, but it stuck in restore with apple logo and loading bar not move at all, I contact apple support and they tried to help me but nothing work, then they told me to send it to replace it and I need to pay $149, that's mean if anybody has any problem with his iphone even the problem from apple software you need to pay, that's not fair at all.... I will try to sale all our apple device and by Samsung device to resolve this problems.
I believe this means that it is bricked, just sell it for parts, to someone like me
