My i phone wont update to ios 8 because it says that its current software is up to date
it has been two days since the release of ios 8. my iphone 5s says that its current software is up to date, when on the same day, my friend's iphone 4s got the ios 8 update. really need help man

It is not clear from your post whether you are attempting to update your iPhone over wifi or when connected to your computer. If your issue is occurring with one of these I would suggest trying the other. See this article for how-to -

I have had problems with my macbook for some time now. I go to update my software and it will search like it would normally. But it then says that i have the most up to date software, when i havnt updated my macbook in at least a year. What do i do because i cant even plug my iphone in to put music on or anything
To see what version of OS X you are running go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac.

If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart. -
Apps wont update after iOS 7.0.2 says "unable to download app".
iPad 2 just did the iOS 7.0.2 upgrade.
24 of my apps are grayed out and unable to use. I try to update all in the app store and it says, "Unable to download app. Could not be installed at this time" and gives me the option of Done or Retry.
I also cannot download new apps.
I have tried:
1. signing out and signing back in. credentials are correct.
2. no restrictions are enabled.
3. hard restart.
4. normal powerdown.
5. Wifi conneciton is good. verified using other streaming apps that do work.
6. 4 gigs of room still on the ipad.
Only thing I have tried is resynching with my computer.
Help! What should I do!?!There must be a real solution. I am not going to randomly delete all my apps one by one hoping that by coincidence it kick starts the waiting ones... I did this in the beginning to check what was going on and it didn't help. I think it is an apple bug and apple needs to fix it. I thought this was an apple support site and not just a place where people give random hunches (sorry, I don't want to be respectless, and I appreciate your attempt to help). I don't know how to get in touch with apple.

The battery drain issue is really bad for my phone and I thought I would finally get round to downloading the new software...but now I can't. It says it's up to date when I know it's not. I tried re-downloading iTunes but that didn't work, and of course deactivating firewalls and stuff. Can someone help me?
5.0.2 has not been released, thus you can not upgrade.

Try this:
1. Plug phone into MAC / PC, start iTunes.
2. Restore your phone and this will make it like new.
3. Back up phone again.
4. Then try to update to iOS 5 again.

If you're having issues doing the update directly on the phone, try using iTunes on your computer to complete the update.
Ensure you've done a backup & imported any photos or videos from your camera roll first, just in case something goes wrong.

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.

I have the same issue on my iPhone 5s
I've closed the app and re-booted the phone several times but it did not resolve the issue.
Upgrading to iOS 8.0.2 did not resolve it either.
Erasing the iPhone and restoring from a backup did not resolve it.
I'm not sure what else to do. -

I have an iPhone 4S and never had a problem with syncing it. But suddenly, when I connected my phone to my mac, it says that its in recovery mode, and I need to restore it in order to sync. I've updated both my phone and my itunes, and it didnt work.Help?

No, it does not. It transfers purchases from the iDevice to the computer. The computer must be authorized for the Apple ID that the content was acquired with.
