  • Ipad has lock after code enter wrong

    my younger brother entered the passcode incorrectly too many times and now when i try to go on to my i pad it says i pad disabled connect to i tunes
    when i connect to i tunes it tells me to enter passcode on i pad first . i have tryed remotly restarting i pad with find my i pad but it needs to be connected to the internet anyone have any clues

    If the passcode lock has been entered more than 10 times, you will need to connect the iPad to iTunes and restore in order to gain access again.
    If the backup was made with the passcode lock in place, it will restore the passcode as well, so as long as you know the right code you should be able to get back in.

  • Ipad locked, didn't enter wrong passcode

    This morning, my wife woke up for work and her iPad Air said that her device was locked for an hour, as if she'd entered the wrong passcode multiple times. Prior to her waking up by opening her smart cover, nobody in the house was awake for at least six hour. Now, I imagine we can wait this out. But this is her primary work device, and I need to know why it might do this, because time she can't be working is money wasted. We can't have this happen again.

    Try and force your iPad into Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
    3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
    Note: Data will be lost.

  • HT1212 Grand daughter has entered wrong pass code enough times to get disabled for 222,247,878 minutes What do we do?

    My grandaughter has entered the wrong password so many times wrong, we are receiving  message that it is disabled for 222,247,876 minutes.  Is there anything I can do?

    Go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here and then do a Restore.  Everything except the password will be restored.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  Be forewarned that it takes a long time.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
    At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.

    how do I re-activate my phone after its been locked due to attempting an incorrect pass code too many times?

    Connect the iPod to its syncing computer and restore via iTunes.  If iTunes asks for the passcode and yu can't enter the passcode or you do not have the syncing computer, place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore. For recovery mode see:

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
    My iPad mini is locked due to the "no backup in past 2 weeks message."  I can't power it off or get rid of this message.  HELP!
    Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
  • WAS Portal User locked - Due to bad logon
    Hi,
    Is it possible to adjust user's bad logon attemp in WAS portal 6.4?
    If a user enter wrong password more than three time, the system locked that user. It happened three times to admin user. We activated SAP* and unlocked the user.
    If any one knows like how to increase the number of wrong password attempt...it would be great.
    Thanks,
    Hi,
    For increasing the logon attempts, you have to follow below steps:
    Step 1: Go to <Driver>:\usr\sap\<System ID>\JCxx\j2ee\configtool --> Configtool.bat
    ex: <b>C:\usr\sap\Y76\JC03\j2ee\configtool --> Configtool.bat</b>
    Step 2: <b>cluster-data --> Global server configuration --> services --> com.sap.security.core.ume.service</b>
    select property : "<b>ume.logon.security_policy.lock_after_invalid_attempts</b> = < <b>Enter Number</b>>"
    ex: ume.logon.security_policy.lock_after_invalid_attempts = 6
    Step 3: save
    Step 4: Restart the Engine.
