My i photo book is now blue with no pictures

I have worked on my yealry Iphoto book for many hours.. It updated it.. and now the layout only shows blue plates.. no images help!

After three attempts with Apple support, and the last guy telling me sorry I just needed to start over..I fixed it ,not 100% but 90 or so.. I just changed the theme and there they were. Some of the pages were reconfigured so I had to redo those.. But all the type was there. It will take me an hour ,not 40 to redo.. This was very odd. Two books from four years ago were not affected. Just the last three years.

  • I complete and ordered a hardcover photo book.  Now, I would like to order the same photo book as a soft cover or wire bound.  IPhoto does not seem to have directions for this process.

I completed and ordered a hardcover photo book,  Now I would like to order the same book but with a soft cover or wire bound cover.  IPhoto doesn't seem to have a feature which just lets me change the completed book to another type of cover.

see my answer to your previous duplicate post
duplicate the book in case of issues and use the change \theme button - select the same theme and the new format - preview (in case anything has changed) and order

  • HT3412 I just ordered and received 2 large Hardcover photo books and one arrived with the inside binding messed up. Do you know how this can get corrected?

Have you tried returning a photo book that has a binding problem? I just ordered 2 large hardcover photobooks and one arrived with the inside binding messed up. Do you know how this can get corrected? They were over $80 and it seems they should not be flawed. I would appreciate any tips. lindajenkins

  • Photo Books stc now in Australia

On the front page of apple.com I saw that photobooks stc are now avaliable in Australia. Yippie.
I quickly jumped into iPhoto and made a quick photobook, and it was happy to take my order and ship to my aussie address.
I think fuji photo in Australia are the printers. Poor snapfish.

    Odd...
I've made a hardcover book and it has been printed and shipped - can't wait to see what it looks like!
Maybe you need to update your iPhoto with Software Update to make it work properly. There was a recent update which coincided with the announcement of the printing service - could be a coincidence though.
    Worth a try.
    Good Luck

  • Removing Photo that is now associated with Music clip

    Hello All:
Wow, you are all such a knowledgeable bunch of people on this board. I have to say, I have been quite impressed in the very short time using it, at just how much you all know.
So this is prob. a very basic question.
I accidentally dragged a photo into the box for "add an image" that sits above the audio I have dragged into my welcome page. I saved it and published it, figuring I could just take off the photo, but it seems to now be attached to the music file and I can't remove it. I don't want to take off the audio bc a friend helped me set it up to play automatically when the page loads, (edited the html code i guess somehow) and so I just want to take the photo off.
    Any help would be great!!
    Thanks in Advance.
If you need to see what I am talking about, the website is www.copperpup.com (i bought a domain to link to my obscure .mac domain name) and its the icon of the dog that now sits above the audio.
    Thanks again.
    :o) Have a great day!

It's been a while since I've done this, but I'm pretty sure that you can just drag another image into iWeb and hover over the current dog icon. The outline of the current image should hightlight and your cursor should turn into a green + sign. At this point, let go of your mouse button. The new image should drop into place and replace your dog icon.

  • Ordered a photo book, but now see lots of text spelling mistakes :( Can this be sorted before its sent?

  • Photo settings displaying black preview with all pictures - please help!

I started working on my first "real" movie last night - got got my iMac 2 weeks ago. Before I was just messing around trying to learn the software. I got 20 pictures done (out of 400), I know that doesn't sound like a whole lot-- got done, but anyways. Things were working and looking great! I was really starting to enjoy iMovie!
Today however I went back to my computer, (didn't shut down iMovie last night) and now the preview screen of the image when you play with the Ken Burns effects in the photo settings isn't displaying the image, instead it's just displays a black screen. I tried this with a newly imported image and an image I had worked on last night using the Kens Burns effects, but it displays the same results... a black scree
I have tried selecting all of the images, music and transitions copying them and thinking I could paste them into a new movie, but of it does the same thing in the new movie. I have also tried to import my movie into a new movie, shut down both iMovie and my computer. Nothing is working.
Because I'm on a very tight deadline (Tuesday), I decided I would just start over completely. After I got 10 pictures done, it did it again in the new movie!
I bought my imac because of all the great things people have told me about iMovie (I've only worked on Windows in the past) I really like my iMac but these problems have really frustrated me!!!
    Responses would be GREATLY appreciated!
    imac Mac OS X (10.4.8)

It's not clear from your description whether this has happened, but be aware there's a bug in iMovie 6 that will cause the black screen after you empty the iMovie Trash.
iMovie 6 (incorrectly) discards its copy of the source image when you empty the Trash. It stores the copy inside the project when you import the photo. After you empty the Trash the image is no longer available. You can't UPDATE the clip. When you do, it turns black.
So if photos in the Photo list import properly but the photos of EXISTING clips are not updated correctly, that may be why. The solution is to not empty the iMovie Trash.
In addition, it's necessary for the disk the project resides on to use the Mac OS Extended disk format. If you use an external drive that has a different format, iMovie can't properly save to the drive.
It's also possible there are third-party iMovie plug-ins and QuickTime add-ons installed on your Mac causing problems for iMovie.
    Those factors are discussed here:

  • Trying to update my iPhone 3Gs.  Phone is now stuck with a picture of cd and usb picture on front of phone

It states that it is stuck in recovery mode.  I am getting an error message with a code 1603.  Could someone please help.  Also, is there any way to not lose my personal information?  I am not computer savy...please help!

    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
Type 1603 into the search bar at the top of this page by "Support".  It will tell you what is going on.
All of your personal information should be on your computer, as you should be syncing regularly.

  • [BUG] Upgrade corrupts photo book layouts!

Here's something to add to the plethora of bugs in iLife'11. Whenever I open a photo book that was created with an earlier version, I briefly see the "Upgrading photo book…" message, and after that, all photos are default-zoom and centered at their spots in the book layout!
I have >20 books in my library and a lot of effort went into making their layout just perfect. The problem does not yet appear in iPhoto 8.1.2, I have been experimenting with several "upgrade paths" from iPhoto 7.1.5 to iPhoto 9.0.1 now. It is clearly a problem in iPhoto 9.
When going directly from iPhoto 7 to 9, by the way, you lose all the key photo selections that you have done in your events (>200 for me…), as already reported here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12495859&#12495859
So if any of you are also keeping their photos in nicely layouted photo books, I strongly recommend waiting with the upgrade to iLife'11 until Apple fixes the upgrade process to NOT destroy any data.

Same problem here with all photo books!
iPhoto '11 does in fact display a warning after the update, something like "update successful, but please check before ordering". Well, I checked, and I found all books are corrupted (zoom and offset are wrong as described above).
This dialog however is a pathetic way of dealing with the (apparently known!) problem, Apple!
Even worse, I noticed that TimeMachine backup (inside iPhoto) does not list photo books, so the only way back (after wiping iPhoto 11 from the hard drive and re-installing the previous version) seems to be to replace the whole iPhoto Library manually (I sincerely hope that the photo books are stored in there and not anywhere else - does anyone know for sure?)
There also is no way to export a photo book (apart from non-editable PDF) and to re-import it on another MacOS installation (with an earlier version of iPhoto), is there? So until I find a solution and the time to try it out, I need to keep my pre-update backup of the whole iPhoto Library. And I must not make any significant changes to the new library, because there very probably is no way of merging those changes into the old one.

  • IPhoto crashes when trying to open a large photo book

My wife has been working for days assembling a large (90+ pages) photo book. Now when we go into iPhoto and try to open up the book she's been working o, iPhoto crashes. I can open other photo books we've made, just not that one.

back up and rebuild your iPhoto library - launch iPhoto while depressing the option (alt) and command (apple) keys and use the first three options
Just tried rebuilding the thumbnails like you suggested and still no luck.
If you used the first three options you rebuilt the entire library - not just the thumbnails - did you select all three or did you select only rebuild thumbnails?
You need to rebuild the library - not just the thumbnails

  • Delating extra blank pages from photo book

I created a photo book but ended up with a surplus of blank pages at the end. How do I delete the blank. I have tried the right click and have don a couple like that but have some I can't get rid of.

Select a page and go to the edit menu ==> remove page - or right click on the page background (control click) and select remove page
Note that you can not go below 20 pages (10 sheets of paper) in a book - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3412

  • Photo book has lost its photos

I recently deleted some old photos from my iPhoto Library and now, a photo book that I had created (and already purchased one copy of from Apple) is having some issues. The photo book shows up in projects, the photos themselves appear in the preview pane running along the top of the edit pages but in the larger preview pane there are no photos and iPhoto says they are gone when I go to purchase the book. Is it because I deleted those photos from my Library? Why do the photos show up in one preview but not another if they are truly gone? Of course I have emptied the trash on both the hard drive and in iPhoto...
Reason I ask is that I want to order more of the photo books but now think that I have completely screwed the book up and lost my photos. (I know, I know...I should have backed up those photos but didn't realize that they would disappear from a completed, saved project.)
    Anyone have any insight?

iPhoto works similarly to iTunes. All your photos are in the Library and each Album or slideshow, book or whatever is a subset of that Library. Remove a pic from a Book or Album and the pic remians in the Library. However, remove a pic from the Library then it is also removed from all the Albums, books etc that include it. A similar paradigm exists in iTumes between the Library and Playlists.
So that's where the photos from your book went - you put them in the trash.
To save a book forever you need to keep the pics it contains.
I still want to put my Library on my external and get rid of it in my hard drive
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
