  • My little sisters' ipod 5th Gen was stolen while she was at school. How would I be able to track it? I've tried logging into icloud but it says icloud wasn't set up on the device.

Is it possible to track your Ipod (5thGen) if a locator app was not installed and icloud was not set up?

No. You will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.

Would Apple be able to lock up my iPod so they cant use it at all? Please help me, thanks (:

Nothing... why would they do anything?
Apple does not provide insurance and they are not law enforcement.

I do not believe that your parents will go "spastic" because your iPod was stolen.  I'm thinking that you jailbroke it yourself.  Am I correct?

Itouch 5th gen was working fine then I shut it off and it wont turn on. tried itunes and when its siting here it heats up badly

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The hotness indicates a possible hardware problem. If the iPod is defective and not abused Apple will exchange it at no cost

  • TS1425 How to delete duplicates on my I-pod 5th gen.

After numerous times trying to delete dupicates on my 5th gen. i-pod, i'ts still not resonding

If the music works like photos, you can not delete those placed on the iPad via iTunes sync...only those downloaded directly. So, delete from the download and not those you placed there by sync using Carolyn's suggestion.
This took some effort to figure out what was going on when placing photos on and then syncing photos, including some dups, from iTunes.
Hope it works the same for music.

  • HT201065 How can I find my i pod touch that was stolen

How can I find my ipod touch that was stolen

If you enabled Location Services and "find my iPod" in Settings > General, and the iPod Touch is turned on and in range of a wireless network with a known location, and the thief did not restore it, then its location can be seen in iCloud. How you get it back is for you to determine. Solicit the help of able bodied and sufficiently large friends.

  • My iPod 5th generation was stolen. What can i do?

My iPod touch was stolen today. I went to the police and there is not much they can do. Is there any suggestions?

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police

  • I pod 5th gen locked before we could set it up on itunes!!

We purchased an ipod touch 5th gen for our daughter. Before we had the chance to plug it into itunes she set a password. Now the opod is not recognizing the one she thought she set. I talked to apple support and we put it through recovery mode 2 times to reset it to factory settings but ending in fail both times. Itunes would come back and say the ipod has a password before completing you need to type in password. So we cant ever get the recovery mode to completely finish. I'm just lost here. Can anyone help please?

Restore, if iTunes will let you.  Everything except the password will be restored.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  Be forewarned that it takes a long time.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • How to text someone else on the I pod 5th gene.?

I purchased a 16gb iPod and I set it up. It asked me to create a number so I could most likely text someone else. I soon realized that it did not have the camera so I switched it out for a 32gb. When I set that I pod up I put the Apple ID on that new I pod but it never asked for the create a number so I assumed it was in the Apple ID account, but then I tried to text someone with internet access; it highlighted the persons name in red so I tapped it and it said that it was not registered with I message. Please help me so I can text my family and friends with my I pod.

The Apple Messages app will only receive and send to other iPod touches. iPhone or iPads with the Messages app.

  • Corrupted i-pod 5th Gen. It all depresses me! :(

Hi, um my names Michael and well, I didn't think this would ever happen to me but it did. My i-pod is corrupted and I haven't used it in about 2 months. Don't think I've just been sitting here doing nothing. I've called support but all they advised me was to return it and redeem a newer one. They could'nt resolve my problem. I would return it but I don't have a creidt card, and yes I've asked my parents but they think im crazy to allow there creidt number on the internet, you know old people. SO I PLEA! would someone kind enough help me with my problem. I connect it and of course it reads "do not disconnect" While it reads it tells me I have a corrupt I-pod to restore it. I did, but it tells me the same thing, again, and again. Trust me, I've done it enough times to know it dosen't work. I keep going in circles! SO PLEASE HELP ME. I can't live without music! I do belive in returning favors, so if you can help me, if theres any way I can help you, I will with all do respect! IF theres anything you can do, to advise me, please do, I need all the help I can get. -Thank you very, very much
    -Michael

    Here, maybe try this:
1:(optional) Check your iPod by reseting it and when the apple logo first appears hold the middle select button and the rewind button to enter a diagnostic mode. Then press the menu button to enter manual testing. Scroll down to IO and press select, then select the hard disk option, then select the hard disk specs option. Read the data to check your hard disk is detected as the correct size (30Gb in my case), if it isn't then reset the iPod and repeat this step until the hard disk detects as the correct size.
2:Reset your iPod, as the apple logo appears hold down the middle select button and the play button, it will then boot to a screen with a tick in the middle and it will say Disk Mode along the top of the screen.
3: Now load iTunes and then plug the iPod into your computer and let it detect. iTunes should detect your iPod though it may not properly detect it. If iTunes doesn't detect an iPod AT ALL then reset your iPod and repeat steps 2 & 3 until it does.
4: Now your iTunes should display your iPod or an iPod just call IPOD, click on your iPod and restore, you can use the same version software or update - it doesn't matter. Even if your iPod normally recieves an error when retoring it SHOULD restore as long as you're in disk mode. When it is done restoring DO NOT UNPLUG THE IPOD, just let iTunes redetect it.
5: Now go to My Computer and right click on your iPod (could be called Removable Disk and go to properties. Now click on the tools tab and run Scandisk (Check Disk). In the scandisk box that opens tick both check boxes (fix automatically and surface scan) and click run, this will take a while but when it's done go to iTunes and eject the iPod, unplug it from the computer, and reset it.
You have just fixed your iPod.
