I am just looking to reset my i-pod to an earlier time

Only be restoring from backup. Restoring from backup does not restore any screen-lock passcode that was on the iPod wehn the backup was made

Connect the iOS device to your computer and try to make a backup

Then restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If you do it via a different computer then :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

My ipod touch (3rd generation) is stuck on the screen that shows me to sync it to i-Tunes.

When I turn on the iPod touch, I get the screen that has a picture showing that I should plug it into iTunes, but when I do, I get a message that says I need a passcode. I downloaded the latest version of iTunes and ran a diagnostic test to see if there were any problems and it said that iTunesHelper is currently not running. Everything else was working just fine. I don't know how to make sure iTunesHelper.exe is running. Also, the volume was not working properly before this happened. I'm not sure if that is related to the issue. Any suggestions?

You'll need to connect in recovery mode to get past the passcode and restore the ipod. After that you can set up a passcode you choose. Download RecBoot and see if that will kick it out of recovery mode.

You have the accessibility VoiceOver feature turned on.
Triple click the home button and try going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn VoiceOver off. You may have to use three fingers to scroll the screen to get there. If problems see the following for how to turn off via iTunes:

Can you reset an iPod generation 3 to sync with iTunes 9?

It seems that an ipod software update occurred during reset of ipod, and now the new ipod software cannot operate with iTunes 9. I cannot upgrade iTunes because my OS is 10.4, and 10.5 is needed to update iTunes. So, now neither of my kids can sync his iPod with our family computer. Is there some way to reset the iPod so that it can operate with iTunes 9 as we have for the past year?

Sorry, but downgrading the version of iOS on an iPod is not supported. There have been some workarounds posted on the web - Google may help in this matter - but you attempt it at your own risk. You will probably be best off upgrading your computer to Mac OS X 10.5 if it will support it (10.6 would be even better if you have an Intel-based Mac). iTunes 10 is necessary not only for the current and recent version of iOS but also for full functionality with the iTunes Store.

I found out that really no i pod is officially busted or not operational today. It turns out that my fourth generation i pod nano was frozen and I was thinking of returning it and exchanging it ; but instead i went to the Support section under Apple and got the solution. It is called: **iPod: No power or frozen**
**Last Modified: June 06, 2008** I strongly recommend it. All you have to do is put the hold switch onto the setting off and then you hold the menu an center button for 10 seconds. It isn't for the i pod 4th generation but it worked for me.

But when the black and white loading bar completed, the ipod went to the black screen with an apple logo on it. Sounds about right, right? But now, there is a processing circle on top of the logo, but the circle spins once, and stops at about halfway to the bottom. It just stays there, and about every half to one hour it becomes a white screen and starts all over again. (not the loading bar part, just the circle). I've tried holding the power and the home button, and it works, but it just goes back to the circle screen with the apple logo. HELP PLEASE?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
