Whenever I put my ipod touch off and plug it to my computer it turns on but it doesnt sync... .. Moreover, I have used different PCs so as to try it syncing.. I have used mac book pro and windows 7 laptops but it gives similar feedback, which is NO FEEDBACK at all...

This should help you empty what's currently in the trash, but is no guarantee you got everything related to MacKiller off the drive. See Ogelthorpe's link.

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

- Try on another computer to help determine if computer or iPod problem

Since installing the latest itunes to windows 8 my iphone and ipod touch is not being recognized in itunes, therefore i can't change playlists or add songs etc. Is this a fault with itunes as it was fine with the older version or is there something i can do. I'm not on IOS yet but would like to backup my phone first but can't do that atm due to not being able to view my phone on itunes!

I would recommend the steps in the article below. See the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.

I Beta tested 4.0 RC1 and now can not upgrade to 4.0. Error message is need to reboot to complete prior instalation. Have removed all previous versions of Firefox, rebooted and still same error message.

I Beta tested up to and including 4.0 RC1 without major problems. However I can not now upgrade to 4.0. Same error message time and again, "need to reboot to complete prior upgrade instalation". I rebooted several times, then tried first removing all previous versions of Firefox using both MS Add/Remove and then iolo System Mechanic, then again downloading 4.0. Even after rebooting same error message. I can not therefore install/use Firefox.

Do a clean (re-)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 4.0: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

I just bought a brand new iPod Touch. I had iTunes installed since this is a replacement to a very old iPod. When I plugged my new iPod Touch to start the very first sync, iTunes crashed and started giving me a Windows 7 error (999). After many frustrated attempts to reinstall iTunes (and a few blue screens in between), I followed a recommendation in one of the postings to delete all the Apple programs in a certain order. It worked and I was able to reinstall iTunes. The problem now? My USB, which at one point kept asking for the software to install the iPod, won´t recognized it anymore. Period. I´ve rebooted several times and whenever I plug my iPod in any of the four USB ports, absoluletely nothing happens, as if nothing had ever been plugged in. I tested the USB with my blackberry and it recognized it. Please help!! Thanks!

Ok, I just figured out so I´ll post it here in case someone has the same issue. I turned off my iPod while connected to the computer. Afterwards, the "other" connection showed up again in the device manager but this time it stayed there without disappearing and with the exclamation point on. I then proceed with one of the instructions in this posting to install the driver for the apple mobile which then showed up in the USB section of the hardware (it was never there until now). Bingo! I got my iPod Touch to connect for the first time! But seriously, why should it be so hard???? I'm concerned with the number of postings here. It looks as if Apple is selling the hottest toys but not be the best ones in terms of quality...

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Next would be to place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore via iTunes. If iTunes does not see the iPod then the iPod is not usable. For recovery mode:

Hi... I really need some help from you guys. My ipod touch is not responding whenever I connect it to my PC. It gives no feedback. The battery image that is shown when I charge my ipod touch doesn't show up unlike if I charge it using the wall charger. I have used different kinds of ports and I ended up with similar things. No response! . However, I can still use my ipod and play music with it. The only problem is its syncing ability is gone. My iPod Touch (newest generation) won't sync and is not being recognized by my computer OR iTunes. It WILL charge through the wall charger. It is now stuck on a screen directing me to connect to iTunes. What can I do?

I have restarted, reset, erased all data and network settings, tried different ports and different cords, restarted computers, reinstalled and updated iTunes... and now I cannot use my iPod at all.
