my i tunes account for both my pc and i phone wont let me update or download any apps.
no none errors it started after i installed the new ios 5.1 on my i phone i wait ages ans it says cannot conect to the i tunes store. and on the pc when i go to update them it says service timed out after about ten mins of waiting

There are a number of threads from other people reporting the same iTunes connection issue, it looks like there might be a problem at Apple's end - but you could try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in and see if it then works, but it probably won't until Apple's fixed it

I just recently purchased 3 songs from itunes not knowing that I had no money on my debit card (visa) left. My iphone wont let me update my apps and says that there was a billing problem with my last purchase. I dont know what I am supposed to do! I dont understand why it worked in the first place when it wasn't supposed to!
There seems to be a billing problem with the iTS. I've been trying to make purchases today (Dec 9th) too and it reports either the iTS can not process payments or it says my card was declined. I even changed the payment method to Paypal (which is never declined) and still no go.
I don't think it is "you" but a problem at Apple. Some popular new apps were released recently like Logic Pro and perhaps they're getting bombarded as they did when Lion was released.

I bought an app last week but they have not took the money out of bank or sent me a receipt for the app so now i cannot update any apps or download any free apps even though i have money waiting in my account for them to take it. Please help how can i sort this out??

Try doing a restore in recovery mode or what is known as DFU.

Once in DFU mode, plug into iTunes and click Restore.
I know you said you tried all reset procedures, but I want to be sure.
Note: This will delete all your data on the Phone, hopefully you have a backup. -

Thanks for the question. With iOS 7, you can delete a song by doing the following:
Remove a song from iPhone. Tap Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete. The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.

Please note that if you have "Show All Music" enabled in Settings > iTunes & App Store, the above will delete the song from your device, but it will still appear available (with a cloud symbol to re-download).

This message should only appear if the specific app was purchased with a different Apple ID than the one you are currently signed in with. Have you or someone else ever EVER downloaded an app to your phone under a different Apple ID? Go to Settings > Store, and make sure the Apple ID there matches the one used to download that particular app.

How tonswap new email address for old one in apple ID. When I try to make my new gmail address my apple ID it won't accept it because it's already in use as my rescue email. I'd like my other email to be rescue email and gmail to be apple ID but their edit account area won't take the address simce it's already in use. I just want to swap them!
Welcome to the Apple community Yao.
If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

It continues to ask me for my password for the old address nd when i enter it or have tried to change it, it does not recognise that address. Do I have to take y phone back to new to be able to log in to the icloud with the changed email address?
Sync with iTunes so you have a backup. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase all content and settings. Restore the unit as New. Reconfigure for your new ID and password. Restore your apps, etc. from backup.

Many developers are releasing updates today because tomorrow Apple is shutting down iTunes Connect (the developer backend to iTunes) for the holidays. This could be affecting things, but I doubt it.
You can try resetting your iPhone by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears. Try again to see if the problem persists.
