  • HT1725 Hi, I'm pretty new to itunes. I bought a song and it downloaded, but will only play the first 3 seconds? Any idea how I get it to play the rest of the tune?

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

  • Song didn't download correctly

I downloaded a song but it only downloaded part of it.  The song cuts off mid-way through.  How do I get refunded or get the whole song downloaded?

Delete it and download it again for no charge.

I downloaded a new album, but he first three to four songs didn't download completely.  Only part of the song is there and then is skips to the next song.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Have you tried deleting the problematic tunes and then re-downloading them from the purchased section within iTunes.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the track and try redownloading fresh copies.
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.

  • HT201272 the whole song didn't download

I have songs purchased from Itunes.  I downloaded them from the Purchased section on itunes,  the whole song didn't download. This is multiple songs.  It started with them being purchased on the itouch then they transfered just fine to the itunes, then had to download from purchased. I need the whole song. We paid for them.  How can this be fixed????

Doublechecking. Have you tried deleting the songs (and their associated files) from your iTunes library prior to attempting to redownload them?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:

  • HT1725 Only plays part of a song

I purchased a song, and it says that the entire song is downloaded, but it only plays about 30 seconds before going to the next song.  This happens in both iTunes and on my iPod.  Any suggestions?

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the broken tracks from your iTunes library, close and then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

  • HT1349 I recently upgraded my iPad to the ios5 and now my already downloaded videos will only play the music with no video, any suggestions?

I recently upgraded my IPAD to the ios5 and now my already downloaded music videos only play the music and no video plays. any suggestions?

When you say that the orientation lock doesn't work, we have no way of knowing if that means that the screen is locked in one position only, or that it will not lock in one position only. So try something g very basi and reboot your iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
In the camera app, you have to swipe up and down on the screen to move between photo, video and the square photo mode options, so are you even in the correct mode to take videos?

My iPhone 4S is only playing part of a song and then stops, sometimes plays whole song but for the most part it just stops randomly

Now it's Wednesday (2 days since I originally posted) & my iPhone appears to have finally restored all my apps, but it still says it's restoring from iCloud backup.  If all my apps are restored, what else could it be restoring?  IS it actually restoring anything at this point, or is it still in 'glitch' mode???  I've tried turning it off & back on & it continues to say that it's restoring.

  • My iPod shuffle says it has 9 songs on it , but it will only play two of them.  What is the problem and what do I do to hear the other songs

My iPod shuffle says that there are 9 songs on it, but it will only play two of them.  What is the problem and how can this be fixed?

Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
    Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
