My i7 4770 and hardrive are lagging
hi, please can you help me as i have not long owned my pc and lately i have had an issue where as i use it, it begins to lag and in some major circumstances could lead to sound issues and lag spikes every few seconds.
It doesnt occur when play games, only a high cpu usage occurs but no issues there. But every now and then like when i surf the internet i will achieve these lag spikes, buzzing noises will occur and cpu skyrockets to about 50-60% and i cant find the issue
that is causing this. I use bullguard av and i have loved with even my old pc's but it cant find an issue. I have looked all over my pc and still no signs of issues (yet)
Im not very good with computers as i am quite young. But i just need help to resolve this issue especially as i am running with a 4th gen i7.
System Specs:
I7 4770 (non K)
2TB hardrive
16GB ddr3
gtx 660 (non ti)
490 watt power pack.
Also to mention my temps are fine, as i use CPUID HWminitor and my temps are around 40*

On June 30th, I was playing a game called Lil Einstein's Manhattan project over at Newgrounds.com and the game although fine at first, later on in the advanced levels of the game, started to cause my browser to lag intensely and heavily. Now, when I try and watch other flash movies and animations, the flash doesn't run as smoothly, there are skips in the flash animations and movies, and it slows down.
I tried scan disks, I tried defragmenting my computer, I tried uninstalling and re-installing Firefox.. Nothing worked to restore the Flash.
But when I view Flash movies and animations on Internet Explorer, they run fine... but not anymore on Firefox.
Other Firefox users who have played this game also reported problems as well..
How can I fix my Firefox Browser and return the Flash running to normal?

In case of facebook and Zynga I would suggest to Check for Problems with your Internet Connection.Try to Update Java and Reduce the Number of Running Internet Applications.
Sometimes Multimedia content lag due to Hardware Acceleration, so disabling Hardware Acceleration should fix your problem.
Open Flash Video in browser
Right click on Video Player | Settings
Open Display Panel
Uncheck Enable Hardware Acceleration

Gestures, Dock and Scrolling are lagging
Hello everybody!
Since yesterday i have the problem of lagging gesture movements, a lagging dock or lagging scrolling in several browsers. With lagging I mean stuttering movement of the animations. The problem appeard out of nowhere and i searched the whole internet for troubleshooting. Neither creating a new user, nor starting in save mode solved the problem. Also I already cleared the chace in the library folder and used the task-manager to spot the problem, both without success. The only weird thing i could spot was the kernel_task using high amounts of the memory and CPU.
I don't have a clue what the problem is. The only way out I see for now would be reinstalling the OS X (Mavericks), which probably is my emergency solution. Is there anybody who can help me?

Ok, I didn't believe it by myself, but I fixed the program by simply running AutoCAD 2013. Found the solution in another conversation. Just opened it once and now the whole system is lag-free again. Weird!

Loupe and handtool in fullscreen are lagging in 1.5
Hi!
Since my update to Aperture 1.5 I've noticed that the loupe tool and panning in fullscreen is awfully slow on some images. When watching the master image it's fast but when I have adjustments applied it slows down. Especially when Shadow/Highlight is on. I didn't notice this behaviour in 1.1.2.
Also it takes ~2 seconds for the loupe tool to come up after I've pressed the shortcut. Overall the loupe feals slower than before.
I'm using a Power Mac dualcore 2.0 ghz, 2.5 gb memory, 7800 GT, dual cinema 20" and the images in question are 8 MP.
Is there anything I could do? I've already disabled previews (didn't help).
I also think the sliders lagg and the result is not instant anymore.

Edvard WendelinI've noticed this too. Ironic, as there have been quite a few reports of the loupe (and other features) working better under 1.5. I've found, on the whole, things are lagging much more with the new version, and in some cases the tools are unworkable compared to what they were in the previous version. I know it must be true, because I now find myself avoiding the loupe and full screen in the new version - where they were used continously in the old. All this on a brand new MacBook Pro too. Oh well. Roll on version 2 ...

I am trying to install my downloaded flash player on my new MacPro hard drive. I get the continual message that my I.D. and password are wrong. I know they are not wrong and have tried a lot of combinations from old Macs and old passwords too. Nothing works. How can I get the job done?

On Mac, this password prompt is presented by your operating system, and is intended to keep you from accidentally installing software which can harm your system. Flash Player does not throw this prompt, Apple does that.
Please provide machine credentials of currently logged in User to continue with the installation.

This has happened to all my songs. After i export them to itunes, they get altered in garageband. I don't know how to fix them. Only the voice recordings get messed up. U can bearly hear them and they are no longer on beat.

My audio and video are not syncing properly. There is a lag from the audio to the video. Does anyone have a permanent fix for Photo Booth where the Audio and Video are not syncing properly?
If you monitor the "More Like This" box (top right), other threads appear. Opening them usually displays other threads. You aren't the only one having this problem.
One person having a Photo Booth problem, although not the same one as you are having solved it by running Disk Utility/Repair Permissions. -
My start up disk is full. I have been through my computer and erased a lot of music and video to free some space. I then went to disk utility to erase free space and find that the erase free space button is pale and therefore won't work. Nor can I select or deselect MacOS extended journaled.
Advice please?!Recovering Disk Space
If you have less than 20% disk space then it is time to roll up your sleeves and search for what you can delete and what you can offload to another disk.
If you have less than 10 GB you definitely need to delete or offload some files or purchase a lager disk or SSD (see below). You may want to maintain at least 20 GB of free space so when your disk starts filling again it will have some room before it hits that 10 GB mark again. More headroom is better. If you let the space fall much below 9 GB you might not be able to boot your machine.
Initial easy steps to gain disk space:
- Delete all files in the Downloads folder.
Empty the Trash.
- Start iPhoto.
Empty its trash.
Restart.
- Restart in Safe Mode:
Restart the computer.
As soon as you hear the chime press and hold the right shift key.
Be patient. Hold it down until you see the Apple icon.
Empty the trash.
Restart in normal mode.
- Delete "Recovered Messages", if any.
Hold the option key down and click "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.
Select "Library" from the drop down menu.
Library > Mail > V2 > Mailboxes
Delete "Recovered Messages", if any.
- Empty the Trash.
- Restart.
- Re-index your system disk (Macintosh HD):

If your disk is 80% full that is normal. Time Machine uses up to 80% of the disk space for local snapshots. To get rid of these snapshots simply plug in your Time Machine backup drive and run a backup. Offloading files:
Consider moving some of the no-often-used large files or directories to an external disk. Use ODS again to find them. As noted above this will be at least your second hard drive. Your first one(s) is/are for your Time Machine (or other) backup(s). Do not offload files onto a Time Machine disk.
Format the second drive as Mac OS Extended (journaled). Using OWS to find large files/folders and copy them from the system drive to the external hard drive and delete them from your internal drive.
Then > System Preferences > Time Machine > Options… > Remove the offload HD name from the exclusions list.
Now both your system disk and your external offload disk will be backed up onto your Time Machine disk.

Sound and video are choppy since installing Flash Player 11.3
I'm having a problem here! Since I updated Adobe Flash Player 11.3, the audio and video are all choppy when I play Adobe Flash game apps in Facebook! Even when I disabled hardware acceleration, the sound and video are STILL choppy! Even I watch a YouTube video and the sound and video are a bit choppy! There's DEFINITELY some sound issues in Flash Player 11.3! I'm using Firefox 13 in Windows XP SP3. I'm wondering if you have any answers for the sound issues in FP 11.3.
I went through an annoying password reset process to post on here, haha, I was experiencing this issue and managed to resolve it for a flash animation I was making that was going to be sent out; thus fixing it for myself wouldn't change things for others. I know this is old, but if anyone is in this position, I hope it helps.
I was using Swish Max for my scenario.
Under the Export Settings, I found that by default it was using SWF Version: SWF8 - when it had the option to go up to SWF10. I changed it to 10, and set the hardware acceleration to Level 1 - Direct.
I exported, and it still didn't work. The music was choppy as heck and terribly inconsistent with speed. I even created a preloader, which appeared to work but didn't resolve my issue.
FINALLY, I kept it at version 10, and found that it had an option that said "Preload Content: Disabled." I set that to "At Preload Frame" and though I had a loading animation setup to do the preloading, I still placed a preloadcontent keyframe at frame 1. Then I set Hardware acceleration to Level 2-GPU and exported.
IT WORKED. The terrible, seemingly non-fixable audio cracking lag was gone and it worked flawlessly.

Why is my tying and box clicking lagging in FF 6?
My typing and box/radio clicks are lagging since FF 6 has been installed.
Many mail clients reject images, JavaScript and embedded CSS styles. For best results use plain text near the top to communicate your message and give a link to the actual web page on your server.
For mail clients that do have limited support for HTML, use uncomplicated tables and inline CSS rules (inside the body tag).
All that meta data description is a red flag to spam filters. You shouldn't be using meta description or keywords in e-mails.

There is excessive swapping of data between physical memory and virtual memory.
That can happen for two reasons:
You have a long-running process with a memory leak (i.e., a bug), or
You don't have enough memory installed for your usage pattern.
Tracking down a memory leak can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination.
In the Activity Monitor application, select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected. Click the heading of the Real Mem column in the process table twice to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If you don't see that column, select
View ▹ Columns ▹ Real Memory
from the menu bar.
If one process (excluding "kernel_task") is using much more memory than all the others, that could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that continually grabs more and more real memory over time without ever releasing it. Here is an example of how it's done.
The process named "Safari Web Content" renders web pages for Safari and other applications. It uses a lot of memory and may leak if certain Safari extensions or third-party web plugins are installed. Consider it a prime suspect.
If you don't have an obvious memory leak, your options are to install more memory (if possible) or to run fewer programs simultaneously.
The next suggestion is only for users familiar with the shell. For a more precise, but potentially misleading, test, run the following command:
sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total
where process is the name of a process you suspect of leaking memory. Almost every process will leak some memory; the question is how much, and especially how much the leak increases with time. I can’t be more specific. See the leaks(1) man page and the Apple developer documentation for details. -
Typing speed on mail and safari - typing lagging by a few seconds
My wifes 3 year old macbook pro is having problems keeping up with here typing speed.
Its not thats she is fast but its that mail and safari are very slow.
The text showing on the screen is lagging by about 3 seconds which is causing problems.
The problem seems to have started with the current version on ML.
Any ideas please.

Converted files from a windows media player library using videora. I transcoded them using the specification that someone posted. it worked. except that the sound for my videos is badly lagging.
