My ibook battery wont charge no matter what i do.

i went to unplug my ibook g4 and i got a shock, after that i noticed my adapter plug wasnt lighting up at all. after that i noticed my battery wasnt charging at all. i asked my friend what i should do and he told me to drain the battery and reset it. i did what he said and nothing happened, my ibook only works plugged in, i know its not the adapter because i plugged it into my friends ibook and it lit just fine. im wondering if maybe its the dc board or just the battery. any suggestions or help would be really....really...super cereal great!!!!!!

I'm a college student with a 3 1/2 year old iBook. Never had any problems until about a week ago. I was on aol and noticed that the battery was getting really hot. I've never replaced the battery because seemingly it recharges fine. However, now upon powering on my ibook, I have to remove the battery to get the power up screen. I've kept it in great shape and have never spilled anything. I wonder what's the problem? The blue screen had lines and appears fuzzy and sometimes goes completely blank.

my ipod has a blank white screen and wont change no matter what i press or try.. what do i need to do?

    Try here:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
If you can't turn it off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try again.
If still problem  that indicates a hardware problem an an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

My ipod touch 2g 8gb has no battery, wont charge on my pc (Hp Pavilion g6 intel Pentium 2.2Ghz, 2 gb) or on my outlet 220W, and it wont turn on. What should I do?

    Hi there fCdawg123!
I have an article here that can address this issue for you and give you some further troubleshooting steps:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
As you may note, this article was written for the iPhone, but the steps for troubleshooting will be the same for your iPod touch. This is the section that I believe will help you the most with this issue:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.

  • HT1476 My battery wont charge instead the battery gets drained

I recently bought the iphone 5 in November and ever since it has had problems with the battery, As most people have. Recently my battery has gone down quicker and quicker. Now for some reason my battery wont charge at all. when connecting to the charger the phone delays in recognising it and when it is removed it still says its charging. Now when it is charging it does not charge but drain the battery faster. I have tried buying a new charger, using older charges. I have updated the phone and nothing. I dont know what to do.

  • Battery wont charge at high loads all of a sudden?!

ANy help here would be appriciates, asap! thanks:P
All of a sudden, as of today, my battery wont charge when the mbp is under a high load. I thought it was just not charging (was not charging in wow) and then realised as soon as i quit, it started to charge again. SO i ran 2 yes > /dev/null to test, and all of a sudden it stopped charging and the magsafe light went to green... (at 25%) as soon as i stopped one of hte processes, abck to orange, charging... started a 2nd up, stopped charging and started to use the battery again.
Does ANYONE have any idea what is going on? i know macbooks can't cahrge under high loads, however, im on a MBP and it has never happened until this evening. Any ideas guys? could it be the bettery somehow, actual computer short not letting it get enough power.... anything? 3 month old mbp (3rd one, first two never had a problem, nor this until tonight)
callign apple in morning, but hoping to resolve before since the closest store is hrs away.. thanks!
    james

    Hey,
I've actually used yes to test it ( yes > /dev/null) in console to mac the cores, its standard on all systems. They've sent em a new power supply saying it sounds like 'it isnt getting all the current' basically, which, seems rather odd. it ONLY started after the keyboard update, as if the new firmware ***** more power ot eh usb hub and it just pushed it over.. maybe my magsafe was always busted nto working properly, but it's always worked for me.. I have a feeling i'm gonna be going into the store an hr away this weekend :/
Had a friend who has NOT ran the update try, and at full loads he still charge fine, unplugged with it running to drain battery a bit, plugged in and it went ot charge, i tried again and it goes green and wont charge at a heavy load Oh, yea, and my laptop wont go on w/o battery and plugged in.. like it's not getting the full 85w, or.. somethign is toasted on my actual laptop. CCC here i come for a drive clone tonight! heh

  • Satellite L655 - battery wont charge

    Hi
Can you help me please? my battery wont charge Toshiba Satellite L655 , I have Buy it last year my warranty finish.
Every time I have to remove the battery and put it in then the battery is charging and the led for battery get yellow until it get full then the led stop flashing and if I unplug the power it works good but it wont charge if I plugged until I remove the battery again.
    Thanks for help

    Hi
I think the new battery should be tested but before doing this be sure that you use the latest BIOS
I means either its battery issue or notebooks power supply electronic issue and before the notebooks hardware would be checked, the notebook should be tested using new good working battery.

  • My sons macbook 13 when I plug in to charge battery wont charge even after I bought new adaptor pug

how to fix my sons battery  wont charge in fact when you plug it in . The macbook does not show it is plugged in.  Does anyone know how to fix this problem.  I even got a new plug adaptor.  and It does not even show that it is plugged in, this is a brand new issue.  Anyone have an answer to fix this.

Try doing a SMC RESET and see if that sorts it out.
Also inspect your power port to see if dirt has accumulated.
Have a look at the link below and see if it applies to you.

  • 5G video,  Replaced new battery, still wont charge, here's what ive done

My english isnt very well, hope u understand most of it. If you are impatient with my story you could just scroll down to the bottom,
Ok, so, my 60gb 5g ipod video is about 2yrs old. The drain battery thing starts happening a year ago.
With a full charge(as the screen said), once it's unplug from power source, it dies within 1 mins. so, i bought a new battery on ebay(hang on dont say the battery is bad, keep reading) put it in. That slightly improved, with makes it play for about 2hrs with a full charge. Not long after the replacement of this new battery, the ipod starts draining, and die quick again.
I decided to give it one more chance, and got a more expensive battery from ebay again.
after i replaced the battery, plug it into charge, it already says fully charged. At first i thought maybe it comes charged. so i unplug it. but the battery meter reads low, with like maybe 5% left.
That's when i realize, the problem is not the battery but the ipod.
I've read hundreds and hundreds of thread online. doesn't really help. I did all those reset
, disk mode and restore. The ipod still thinks the battery is charged and wont let juice pass on to the battery. At last, I've found a 13.1.2.1 firmware, and downgraded it from a 1.3, and see how it goes. Sadly, nothing changed.
@@@@@@@@@@   IF you are impatient, JUST read this part @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
I took the NEW battery out, found a 3.7v charger, and charge it externally / manually.
put it back in, the battery meter( the one of right top corner, while unplug) reads a 80% charge)
so, this proves that the battery is 100% GOOD ! when i plug it in, the ipod still thinks the battery is charged and wont charge it.
Here's my conclusion. There's a problem with the motherboard/mainboard, either the chip that prohibits battery from over charging is out, or there is something wrong with the socket.
My solution(which I haven't done yet) is drill a hole on the back plate close the the battery location, Charge it from the outside, with wires directly connect to the battery(if u rip those plastic tape carefully, u would see the +/- connectors).
Cost: 3.7v charged, should be less than $15 or just find a unused cell phone charged.
or just mod your ipod wall charged.
Connectors between the wires to the battery and the external charger could be find it
Wal-mart, Ace, and many other store. for Wal-Mart they are usually in the Auto  section. Should be around $5
So, the whole fix for mine is just $10, since i mod my own ipod charged. and the $5 tips at a auto shop for the guy that drill the hole for me.
This saves me $90 from buying a used 60gb ipod from ebay, and around $300-$400 from a new one at apple.
After all, I post this because i dislike the way apple treat their costumers, they simply wants you to buy a new one instead of helping you. I've read lots and lots of stories about how people are unhappy, upset and even angry with apple. I'm one of the millions.

by the way, replacing the motherboard cost about $55 if u do it yourself, which i would rather buy a new one if thats the case.
and sorry that i didnt do a proof reading, of which lots of error in my post.

  • My battery won't charge no matter what I try

It may be that the battery is just getting old and needs to be replaced, but I'd rather not drop $130 if there's some way to fix it.
As of this post, my battery level is stuck at 45% and, according to the drop down menu on the battery icon, is not charging. My power adapter is clearly supplying energy because the battery life only drops when I unplug it and the green light is lit on the plug. My battery cycle count is at 54, but the condition says "check battery".
My Macbook Pro is just over a year old but the battery has been acting strange. Sometimes my computer would just turn off randomly when running on battery power, sometimes as soon as 74% life. This problem inexplicably went away on its own.
Later, I had a problem where, even though plugged in, the battery would continue to drain all the way to 0%. I followed the instructions for an SMC reset and the battery started charging again properly.
This time the battery is just stuck at 45%, and I've tried restarting normally, resetting the SMC, and a PRAM reset. I've even tried the SMC reset method with leaving the battery out for an extended period before returning it to the notebook and starting up again (basically I've tried a variety of things that I've read from surfing help forums on this very topic in hopes that it would also solve my similar problem). However, it remains at 45% and refuses to charge (unless I were to unplug it, at which point that 45% would begin to drop).
Does anyone have any ideas? Obviously it's a pain to own a laptop that must be plugged in at all times to run, but I'd rather only replace the battery as a last resort, $130 is hard to come by as a typical broke college student.

    Yo MR, howzit;
So, you got coconutbattery utility? http://www.coconut-flavour.com, donation-ware: awesome. My MBP is like 49% of original battery capacity; 132 load cycles; sounds lame but I am surviving.
Yeah, buying a battery ... Nothing like a new battery; which entails an expenditure. There were threads here last year about an AAPL credit for certain battery serial #s; search this forum. Else, keep trying: have you calibrated? The SMC reset; maybe try it again? Good luck; post back!

I just got a new battery in the mail today and it wont charge!! theres a battery icon with a red X through it . help!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully that "new" and "known good" are not necessarily the same...while rare, a new battery can certainly be defective. Further, only by finding someone else with an identical BB with no issues can you actually trade batteries and narrow down if the problem is the battery or your BB.
Good luck and let us know!

If you have access to another MagSafe (any MagSafe will do, even a different wattage), try it out. If that other MagSafe works, then replace your power cord. If that MagSafe does not, you will have to have your MacBook serviced to replace the defective power source on the motherboard.

  • Kernel_task 336% usage and Battery wont charge (MacBook Air 2012medio 11")

    Hi Apple fans.
I've a one year old MacBook Air, 2012 Medio 11" 1.7ghz Intel Core 5, 4GB ram, Intel Graphics 4000 - and Mountoun Lion installed.
The problem is, that its awfully slow. It startet last week, where I bootet up normally, and saw the Battery didnt't charged (x as battery indicator). And even worse the general state of the machine is VERY slow. Everything is working with severe lagging - even just typing in Safari browser... like you type GOOGLE.COM and it enters it after nearly 20 sec.
I've narrow it through Activity Monitor to KERNEL_TASK using 336% usage (dont ask why its not 100% ;-). Rendering it absolutly uselsess. The Screen is darkend, behaps because the Kernel is taking on all CPU usage, rendering nothing left so maybe the MacBook Air auto goes into this mode, for protecting. The fan is not hammering, so it appears to work fine.
I've tried Once doing the SMC reset. It actually worked seeing the battery getting charged. But next day same problem, and now the trick of SMC wont work again!.
    What to do?
I havent tried NVRAM reset or even SAFE MODE (that is my trick for tomorrow), but are there any order you should do this (ex. Safe Mode first, then SMC reset, then NVRAM reset)? Do you have to do a SMC reset several times before it works?
Hope anybody can help me out?
    Regards, Thomas
