My Ibook doesn't want to start up.

After watching a DVD on my Ibook last night. My Ibook stopt working because I forgot to plug it in to the socket. A couple of hours later I wanted to start my Ibook up again. And got problem. My Ibook isn´t coming further then the grey start up screen with the apple logo and the little grey wheel that is spinning.
This is really getting scary. Please help

Is your data backed up? If it isn't I'd buy Prosoft Data Rescue and an external hard disk that is Firewire to copy your information to prior to troubleshooting.
Once you are sure all your data managed to get on the external hard disk, or that you are backed up, follow these instructions to take care of the gray screen:

Hi everyone,
I updated my 64 bit Arch today, and when i rebooted the X server didn't start. When I type in "startx" I am getting error message which says something like "Failed to load module nvidia (module requirement missmatch, 0)", but i can load nvidia module with "modprobe nvidia" then when I type in "startx" again everything is the same. How do I overcome this problem. I think I have been using this version of nvidia driver since 2011-08-17 but today my kernel version changed. Can this be the problem and what should I do in this case? I tried downloading the same driver from the nvidia site, so I can build it on my system with the new kernel but I ended up with the same error. I'm thinking of trying the new 285 BETA driver but probably this won't help either. Please give me some hints on what should I do. If this is not the proper place for my post, please excuse me

the buttons outlines don't show up and the background of the dock at the bottom is also broken and so is the windows titlebar. Is this somehow related to the IgnoreABI option or is the driver incompatible with the new kernel? I am using compiz btw... but everything elese seems to be working good(except that xbmc doesn't want to start).

Bonjour keeps dying and doesn't want to start back up.

Hey guys,
On a bunch of our machines, after being upgraded to 10.6, bonjour appears to die completely. Sometimes I can get it to work again via CLI, sometimes I can't. All of our printers for our Macs are shared out via bonjour on a 10.5 Server. The majority of the machines are running 10.6.7, some are still on 10.6.6, but the problem has been around since at least 10.6.4, as far as I can remember.
Any ideas why this is happening or how to fix it?

MacBook Pro doesn't want to start up anymore.

My MacBook Pro doesn't want to start up anymore.
When I turn it on, it turns on, followed by a white/light grey screen with apple logo. After a while a loading wheel appears beneath the logo and a loading bar beneath it. The loading bar loads to about 1/5 and then disappears, leaving the computer stuck on the the white screen with the apple logo and the loading wheel.
I tried to reset the PRAM, but it didn't help, it only got the startup sound to play when I turn the MacBook on.
What can I do about this? Hopefully I don't need to lose my files.

The problem is your machine isn't booting to grab the files.
So you need to create a external boot drive, then you can access the internal boot drive directly and grab files out of your Music, Pictures, Movies, Documents folders (etc) to the external boot drive.

Yes, you can choose to create a
Create a data recovery, undelete boot drive
and recover your filesnow , or you can chose to try fixing the machine without recovering your files, but your taking your chances as we don't know how seriously wrong it is yet.
If your willing to take a risk then proceed through this list, Step 1 - 8 etc., until the machine boots up.
Step by Step to fix your Mac
If the machine doesn't boot up then you need to create the external boot drive to get the files before proceeding with further steps.
If this is too much for you, then call a local PC/Mac data recovery/repair service and they will handle it for a large fee.

and after reboot on fresh install wifi starts working corectly

my mac mini(no intel) doesn't want to start up.
I tryed all what I need but nothing!
The power buton doesn't work.I just use it for the net.
Any idea for my problem?

Does the mini show any sign of life at all? Have you checked the outlet to make sure it has power, and tried plugging the mini into a different mains socket?
If the mains power is OK, and the mini is completely dead, then there are really only two possible problems: either the power 'brick' is faulty or the mini has suffered a hardware failure. If you can try your power brick with another mini, or borrow another power brick and try it with your mini, that would identify which.

The usual explanation is that it is a licensing issue. It's not Apple refusing to support an MS product (they support loads of others, like QuickLook for Office docs). MS won't let Apple have it. (The Linux-based solutions are third-party reverse engineered.)
That having been said, I've never had a problem plugging an NTFS drive and reading files from it. Why does it take you an hour?
I've never had a problem with a Mac-formatted USB thumb drive not writing either. It's possible that the hardware/software that Apple uses is more sensitive to cheaper thumb drives, but I'm guessing here.

Satellite S50 doesn't want to start

Hello,
I own a Toshiba Satellite S50-A-10R ,model PSKJQE since october 2013. Since Christmas I have the following problems :
- laptop doesn't wan't to start and then flashes white power LED.
- if it does start it shuts down instantly after I see the toshiba logo and again flashes the white LED
I have tried the following :
- BIOS reset via hidden button
- BIOS reset via removing AC adapter, laptop battery and BIOS battery
- tried to power on without DVD-Rom ,RAM ,HDD and battery
None of these have helped in any way.. What could be the cause of this problem or what should I try next ??
Any help would greatly be appreciated
PS: I only have extended EU warranty until OCT 2015, does this help me in any way?

Xorg doesn't want to start after a global upgrade

Hi, I first must mention that I'm a newbie at archlinux(So, don't be shocked by what follows ^^).
I wanted to upgrade the whole system, but an error message appeared saying me that upgrading the system was impossible because of the two following files that were already present on the system
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/libwfb.so
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libdri.so
So, I removed the two of them, thinking that they were replaced by new binary files.
But when restarting my computer, xorg doesn't start, and I don't know how to solve this problem.

My Lifedrive doesn't want to start...

Hi everybody,
My Palmone lifedrive refuse to start when pushing the sliding button. I hope my datas are still in. I tried a reboot with the reset hole it worked a while but my computer doesn't recognize it for synchronization since my windows 7 hasn't any driver for it and I lost the install CD. Furthermore I can't find it on the net. As it went off now, it's impossible to start it again. So I need help to first know if my datas are still alive somewhere, to find the way how to eventually change the battery (if it appears to be the issue) and to find the appropriate driver for my device working with windows7.

From this side of your computer screen, we cannot tell you what is wrong with your LifeDrive!
They had a problem with the hard drives being very fragile - it's possible yours has broken also. If that's the case, then your data might be gone.
Syncing to Windows 7 has been covered over, and over, and over again in the Windows HotSync section of the forum. You should be able to easily sync via Wifi. Read the sticky threads about "Win7 and Vista instructions" in that section.
Bottom line, it sounds like your device is broken and needs repairs. We've recommended two websites many times here - usedpdaparts.com or directfix.com. They offer parts and repairs. Usedpdaparts offers an upgrade for Lifedrives that removes the hard drive and inserts a Compact Flash socket in its place, with a 4gig memory card to hold data.
