My iCal calendars no longer sync adn I can't re-publish them

I have several calendars created in my iCal for staffing schedules, from which I keep and maintain my staff shifts. The Mac the staff uses (I have a separate machine in my office) is subscribed to each of these calendars (one for each staff member) in iCal and was working mostly ok over the last few years (occasional hiccups I was able to correct and solve). Every time I made a shift change it would be updated to that calendar and the staff were kept up to date with all changes. However, I have upgraded to Lion and upgraded my Mac mini to the most recent machine - the staff is still on Snow Leopard (can't upgrade that machine due to several incompatibilites I won't go into here). It seemed the updates I created were updating automatically, as I had them set up to, to the other machine through the publishing & refreshing, but suddenly it isn't working anymore (sometime in the last 2 months).
The calendars on my machine are now not refereshing at all, (the little "!" in the triangle within the circle - error symbol - is now showing at the side of each calendar whenever I try and refresh all.) So, obviously none of my calendars are connecting to their counterparts on the web, where the subscriptions live. So none of my updates are being received on the staff machine.
I tried to unpublish to see if republishing would help, but the error I got was that I didn't have permission and to check my password - however, there is nowhere for me to enter or check it! I don't recall ever setting up a passowrd for the calendars. I chose the option to leave on server, and it removed the link for my calendars (little error symbol is gone).
I tried to publish again, but now I get this message 'The calendar for "calendar name" couldn't be published. The request for calendar failed. The server responded with "503".'
This may be a very simple solution, and I apologize for my not-very-technical language and descriptions, but I am at a bit of a loss here and am hoping someone can help -  my staff and I all rely on this method and it seems crazy that this isn't working as it did. I am suspecting it is a Lion vs. Snow Leopard issue, but I can't seem to find out how to correct it and continue using my calendars as I need to.
Anyone have ideas?

Have you migrated your MobileMe to iCloud? If you haven't you need to go to http://me.com and do so now, and I mean now.
That done, the method for sharing iCloud calendars is described here:

  • ICal calendars no longer syncing to ipod using itunes after Snow Leopard

Help! I upgraded yesterday to the new Snow Leopard and I can no longer sync my calendars to my ipod 5G. I do not have an iphone and this is the only way I can see my calendars. Did Snow Leopard "update" the calendars so that iTunes can no longer see them? I get the error message that there is no calendars available to sync, when indeed, I have 10. Please help!

    Hi, some more information...
I worked with Apple on the phone for three hours, to no avail.
the troubleshooting steps are as follows:
    1. deleted from HD/username/Library/Caches the "com.apple.ical folder"
    2. deleted from HD/username/Library/Preferences the file "com.apple.iCal.plist"
    3. deleted from HD/username/Library/Calendars the "Calendar Cache" file
    4. removed and reinstalled itunes
    5. "restored" ipod to factory default settings
    6. exported, deleted, and re-imported all calendars (individually)
    7. plugged in ipod and tried to sync calendars - still not working...
This issue has been escalated up...
After seeing many posts with ical issues with Snow Leopard, I think I am not alone...
    None of this has helped

  • My iCal calendar no longer syncs with my iPhone

I bought an iPhone and an iMac just recently.  For the last two weeks they have been syncing whenever they ar both in the same WiFi network.  But latrely, they no longer sync when I change something in either calendar.  Any idea why?  They are both still connecting to my home WiFi network.

OK.  Problem seems to have gone away when I started iTunes on the iMac.  I'm real new to the iPhone and to Imac (a couple weeks).  Does iTunes have to be running on the iMac in order for sync to take place?

  • After upgrading to Yosemite, my Exchange calendar no longer syncs to iCal (the Apple calendar). Help?

After upgrading to Yosemite, my Exchange calendar no longer syncs to iCal (the Apple calendar). Help?

That's not the point.    Before iCloud, Outlook synched with Apple Calendar and/or iCal.    With iCloud, Cal syncs with iPhone and other devices.     Outlook doesn't have to sync with iCloud (although that would certainly be nice).   It just has to continue to sync with Cal, which in turn syncs with devices via iCloud.
But for some inane reason, it doesn't.    If this is Apple's way of forcing people to not use Office and only use Calendar and Apple Mail, they are going to stop the gains they've made in business environments.   Businesses, especially large businesses, use Outlook.   End of story.
Furthermore, Apple's instructions for setting up or deleting iCal and iCloud accounts is complete gibberish.  And I'm a tech who has been working with computers for 32 years.   Apple used to be great at making things easy.  They now suck at it and are just as bad as Microsoft.

  • ICal will no longer sync with macmini still syncs with iPhone, iPod and another mac...what happened?

iCal will no longer sync with wife's mac mini.  It works with our iPhone, iPod and and older  G5 tower.  I am using an iMac.   Nothing shows up on the mobile me calendar in her office.  I have been unable to get the shared calendar to open on her machine.  All had been well until yesterday.
    Thanks for any help.

I did restore from back-up as well. And I had thought of restoring my iPod to factory settings however...I just got my mother-in-law's old iPhone 3GS. Upon getting it from her I restored it to factory settings. After having the problems tonight syncing my iPod to iTunes I tried syncing the iPhone. It started out fine, showing it as a new device and setting it up. It shows both devices on my iTunes and then when I went to sync it I got the error message that none of the songs could be copied from my iTunes because they could not be found. But they all clearly show up in my iTunes. I had done this before when I was having the issue with my books and then I had deleted them all from iTunes and readded a few that I wanted to put on my iPod and it still wouldn't sync them. So I really don't want to take absolutely everything off my iPod and restore it to factory only to be unable to add anything from my iTunes ever again as is the case with the iPhone.

  • ICal mysteriously no longer syncs with my iPhone 3gs via iTunes sync

My iCal mysteriously no longer syncs with my iPhone 3gs via iTunes sync. It worked great until about a month ago. I've made over 300 Calendar changes to my iPhone 3gs' Calendar, but not a single item has synced back to my iCal on my iMac, when I sync my iTunes (which I do almost daily). In addition, I've created some items on my iCal, as a test, and none of them sync onto my iPhone 3gs.
    What gives? Ideas? Suggestions?
    Thanks for your help!

Well, I was able to manually sync my iPhone to my iCal one time, but haven't been able to get it to sync Calendar info since then. It was moderately successful, so I could export an iCal backup file. However, I ended up with about 200 MORE duplicate items on my iPhone, and what's weird is that many of these duplicates do NOT have any "edit" functionality! So I a, stuck with them being on the day they are at right now. Grrrrrr

  • After my software update, my calendar no longer syncs w my PC

After my recent update to IOS6, my calendar no longer syncs with my PC, yet my iPod touch is fine.

Make sure you are running the latest version of iCloud control panel for Windows (ver. 4) by running Apple Software Update and installing any available updates.  If you install an update, restart your PC, then try calendar syncing again.
If that wasn't the issue, try force-closing the calendar app on your iPad (double-tap the home button, swipe up on the calendar app, tap the home button again), then reset your iPad (hold the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release).  After it restarts, try adding a new calendar event and see if it appears on your PC now.
If not, try going to Settings>iCloud on your iPad, tap Sign Out, choose Delete from My iPad and provide your password when prompted (your data will still be in iCloud).  Then reset your iPad again and test calendar syncing.

I updated my iphone to iOS 6.1.2 and now my iphone calander and macbook calendar no longer sync (they used to). How do I get them to sync again?

    Why can't you update?
There should be nothing preventing the update from 6.1.3 or 6.1.2 or even from 5 directly to 7.
What happens when you try to update?
Have you tried to Update through a computer running the most up top date version of iTunes?

  • Calendars no longer sync across devices after iOS/Mac OS X updates

Ever since updating my MacBook Air to Yosemite and my iPhone 6 to iOS 8.0.2 (or maybe 8.1.1), my calendars no longer sync correctly across devices. Prior to the updates, any addition or change I made to the calendar on my iPhone would be added to the calendar on my Mac the next time I synced my phone. Now I have duplicate events on my phone, the calendar on my Mac no longer incorporates changes from the phone and I get a dialog box on the Mac 2-3 times an hour about calendar conflicts. No matter how many times I review the conflicts and choose which events/updates to save, the box keeps coming back. I've never had a persistent issue like this with any previous iOS or Mac OS updates and I can't figure out why it won't stop. Help, please!

OK, that was easy enough. Here's what I took from the log when I synced a few minutes ago. I kept the log entry for one of the multiple calendar sync conflicts.

  • After switching to iCloud, Outlook 2011 calendar no longer syncs with iCal.

Before iCloud, my Outlook 2011 calendar (Exchange) was syncing locally with iCal, which worked just fine. Once I moved to iCloud, my local calendar was removed by iCloud, and I can no longer sync my Outlook 2011 calendar (Exchange) to my local iCal (I don't want it to sync with iCloud, if that's still possible). How do I get this capability back?

  • HT1296 Calendar no longer syncs after going to OS 10.8

Upgraded to OS 10.8 and can no longer get my iCal to sync with iPhone, can anyone offer a suggestion?

    Hi all together,
I do have this problem too. The moment I upgraded to ML there was no sync of any calendar entry any more. No matter which direction MAC <-> iPhone or iPad. Deleting the calendar on the iPhone worked, replacing it from my Mac did not work.
I have searched some forums and found the interesting opinnion that Calendar (successor to iCal) does not sync with USB and cable anymore.
But there is one thing which makes me wonder:
Notes has been moved away from the iTunes sync dialogue about infos. Notes can, as far as I understand, only be synced via iCloud.
Contacts and Calendars have not been moved out of the dialogue. There are still there and contacts works fine. Calendar not.
    Anybody any idea?
    Thanks to all :-)

  • ICal (Mavericks) no longer syncs with iPhone

I recently upgraded from OSX 10.6.9 to OSX Mavericks.
Regular syncing between iPhone (iOS6.1.3) was successful in terms of syncing of desktop iCal and iPhone calendar.
Now there is no syncing. I have since updated to iOS7.0.3 on iPhone, but still there is no syncing of newly-entered events on iPhone to the desktop calendar (or vice-versa).

    Evertype wrote:
A lot of people cannot put sensitive address and calendar information into iCloud.
Why can't we sync between our phones and our desktop computers via a wired connection, like we used to be able to?
Because that feature does not exist in Mavericks. You can always restore your last OSX from the backup you made before you installed Mavericks, unless of course yours is a brand new Mac with Mavericks preinstalled.

  • Outlook calendar no longer syncs after IOS 7 / iTunes update

Running Outlook 2003 on Win XP.  Yes that's what IT allows....
Updated IOS7 (now at 7.0.3), tried to sync on the next day at work.  Itunes forced me to update (11.1.2.31).
    Updated iTunes.
    Notes sync.
    Calendar does not.
    iTunes says:
    Sync Calendars
Your calendars are being synced with your iPhone over the air
Over-the-air sync settings cane be changed on your iPhone
I've disabled OTA calendar sync I know of (Google, iCloud) with no effect.  There are still some iCal feeds that I left on.
Suggestions appreciated, but I'm stuck with my work environment for now.  Really would like to get back where I was before "updating". :-)

Still struggling with this.  I did discover a diagnostic in iTunes, but it says all is well.  I suspect that is because it thinks the iPhone is syncing the Outlook calendar over the air:

  • Calendar no longer syncs after ios7 update

since updating the firmware on my iphone 4 it no longer syncs the calendar with outlook 2003, ive been in the info tab many times, selected and unselected the sync calendars with outlook box and it makes no difference, ive been in the add in menu in outlook and made sure the itunes add in is selected (its the only one there) ive been using the iphone and outlook combination for years now for work with no problems whatsoever, i cant understand why the 'select calendar box' in itunes is empty, if anyone knows the fix id be most grateful as its become quite integral to my work

Its a bummer that the Exchange no longer works since the OS update. Can you elaborate on what happens when you try to establish a connection? Have you tried removing and readding the exchange account? Please keep me posted if this continues.
